  1. Come on guys! Where's your sense of adventure? I think I knew what the response would be,totally understandable. This area is a fisherman's paradise, one could spend weeks in the area & fish a different lake everyday. Lakers one day, walleye or muskie the next. It is amazing the amount of fishermen come here from south of the border,I spent 2-3 days a week as the PTOG (part time old guy) at the local tackleshop the last couple of summers. Some Saturdays we would sell between 150-200 fishing licenses to non-resident fishermen. The LOTW area (Kenora) also get lots of Manitoba anglers/
  2. I have a question for my fellow angles from southern Ont. Every fishing season we see hundreds of American anglers come into the area to enjoy the great fishing & beautiful scenery we have in the area. We see people from as far away as California,Texas,Arizona,Florida and all states in between, but very few from southern Ont. Is it the distance, cost or other factors?
  3. Then call me "Shorty"!
  4. Can't say I have, soooo many great lakes to fish around here, can't get to them all!
  5. Cliff,if you are willing to travel to this part of the province we have some excellent fly in operators clarksresorts.com wilderness-air-escapes.com I would advise booking sooner rather than later, the really good outposts get sold out fast.
  6. It looks like you've be to Bobbys!
  7. Besides Eagle LK; Cedar Lk & the Indian Lk chain also are well known for healthy muskie populations,Lac Seul is just up the road for world class walleye fishing. These are all less than an hours drive from Vermilion Bay. These lodges are some of the best on the lake Vermilion Bay Lodge Cedar Point Lodge North Shore Lodge Eagle West BirchDale Lodge It all depends on what you are looking for,American plan or Housekeeping plan. There is 1 resort I would not recommend because of past fish & game convictions but I won't name them on here. As I stated earlier PM me if I can help in any way.
  8. Any questions,send me a PM

  10. https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=bobbys%20sport%20shop%20ltd check out some of the musky on this page. Eagle is a GREAT musky spot as well as walleye
  11. I would strongly advise you to stay away from Kenora as it is like Niagara Falls of the north. The Kenora area is Manitoba's playground & crazy busy, there are lots of lakes in the area with just as good or better fishing. Eagle,Lac Seul, etc etc Google Ontario Sunset Country lodges & resorts
  12. I hope you don't mind if I add this to your thread Wormduncker These "eaters" were the result of a coupe hours of not too serious fishing. We spent more time visiting over a few beers.
  13. There is a good reason this area sees 1000's of American fishermen every year, the fishing just gets better & better.I spend a couple days a week at a tackle shop & on any given saturday we will licence well over 100 fishermen heading up Hwy 105 to the Ear Falls/Lac Seul area.Yesterday I met guys from Texas,Arizona,California and lots of states in between. I rarely see anybody from southern ont & find it hard to believe that more of them don't visit this scenic fishing meca.
  14. GF & I left the house around 9 this morning for our first trip to the little lake where I keep a boat stash about 1/2 hour away. The bite was on! We normally just bring home enough for the 2 of us to eat that day,but we are having company from southern Ont this week & thought they might enjoy a fish-fry.We were back home by noon!
  15. I picked up this used trailer at a petty good price. It is completely self contained, hot & cold running water, satelite tv & is hooked up to my septic
  16. I'm sooo embarrassed to say I live in this province. When I travel both in Canada & outside the country I tell people I live 3 hours from Winnipeg. If I do admit to be from Ontario I make it very clear I am very far from the GTA. There is no way I want to be included with that liberal voting bunch of clowns.
  17. Same thing every spring. Sorry to say,but maybe you ladies should just stay in your kitchens & paint your toenails. Man up & go fishing
  18. My son & family were able to get to Edmonton, last night he got a text from a friend who is still in town, attached was a picture of his pick-up which is parked in my son's driveway, the street was full of firetrucks. 6 houses were lost on his street, but his house is still there as of this morning. He has a security camera set up in his kitchen,it's still working. I gotta tell ya,I worried sick, not only for my family but all affected by this catastrophe.
  19. I was able to talk to my son last night,he's a manager at Suncor, stuck on site because of the gridlock on the hwy caused be the evacuation.I just found out my daughter in law & my grandkids were able to "get out of dodge"last night & are settled in one of the camps . Very scary situation for sure.
  20. The Snobug was actually a make of snowmachine
  21. PM sent, whatever you decide it is best to book asap as the good lodges fill up quick
  22. While the Free World mourns with France, our new PM takes every opportunity for more "selfies" at the G20. I fear we have sent a boy to do a man's job.Imho.
