I was just wondering if anyone has had the experience of repairing a minor tear on a track. My teenage son uses the machine mostly for ice fishing but will run the trails 3 or 4 times a season. There is an inch and a half cut front to back in the centre. He obviously ran over something sharp. I do not really want to buy a new track right now. His is only 3 years old. Is there a mending plate of somekind that could be secured over the slice to stop it spreading. Many thanks.

BE CAREFUL Walked out at innisfil beach this morning. Talked to a couple of guys coming in, Shale type ice west of Fox, one guy chipped thru 3 inches west of Snake. Bear Point area 4 to 5 inches of MILKY ice. A 30 plus year local parked his machine at the edge and walked out to the centre. Approx. 5 inches but some spots fluctuated between 4 and 6, but again not black ice. This again was in the Bear Point area.

mr blizzard replied to fishing n autograph's topic in General Discussion
Very sad news. Our thoughts and prayers are going out to the family. He actually worked with my brother a few years ago for a short time. Your heart sinks when u hear this. Too bad the "bad guy" is still sucking air. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. -
Rick our thoughts and prayers are with you. Very shortly it will be the anniversary date of the passing of our daughter. May God give you and your family strength, peace, calmness and the determination to carry on your family legacy. My 15 year old son will say a special prayer for you tonight before dinner. If you every feel the need to express yourself feel free to contact us. God Bless. Mr. Blizzard

Hi there sorry to bother you. I work on my own and work has been very slow for the past 3 months.3 weeks ago my wife (who has worked for 20 years at Sears Barrie) went to the doctor. She was told she had pneumonia and with a doctors note was told to stay home for a few days. After 3 days she went back to work fearing she would get in trouble. 2 weeks later a week ago last Sunday she did her day shift. She came home at 6 30. At 9 pm my son and I rushed her to the hospital, very cold pale and low pulse. After testing to see if she had a mild heart attack, they ruled it back to pneumonia. She was told to stay off work for 3 to 4 days. She had a doctor note. She was off 3 days only. She went back on the Friday. 2 of these days during the week were her normal days off. Wednesday of this week she was wrote up for missing to much time. SHE IS FULL TIME AND THEY HAVE MADE HER WORK 7 WEEKENDS IN A ROW. She was in tears and coming down Bayfield she stopped for a red light. The car ahead of her and my wife being behind were both going to make a right turn. About 30 feet down the side street some headbanging punk runs out in front of the car ahead. She swerved to avoid him and my wife caught the back left bumber of the car ahead. It just scraped the bumper. Now we have to come up with the 500 deductable. MY 15 year old paid for my wifes prescription out of his grass cutting money. NEITHER one of us have ever collected UI or any other assistance. If any one can help please contact" Monika Zajkowski of Co Operators Yonge St Barrie 728 3545. At the very least thanks for reading this, it helps to take away some of the frustration. You would think that after spending 6 years in the military Sears would treat their staff with a little compassion.

You saved my moms life just a few years ago, sadly we had to lay you to rest today. Because of you my son has a grandmother, and I still have a mom. I know you are truly in Heaven and MY DAUGHTER JENNIFER RACHEAL LYNN has another friend in Heaven. Your life was cut off all to short. God Bless. John, Peg and CB.

Aplumma I have respected your postings over time. My wife has served in our military for many years on the front lines, not in an office helping our friends to the south. Just for the record another cousin in Sudbury, years ago starred in one of the first movies with Arnold Swartzanager. He was a body builder who came just shy of making the the Olypics. He has endured Lou Garrits disease for seven years. Most do not live that long. He has a wife and 4 beautiful children. Those children, in their teens are feeding their father and tying up his shoe laces. And maybe you wonder why family is so important to me. If you re read my post carefully I did not shoot down Dave. If you fight for this country and make a fair comment you should not have to apologize for being decent.

Thanks Radnine, I did bury my daughter 7 years ago so I know all about consequences. How many fathers have had to do that, I know some have. And for the armchair quarter backs, my cousin lost HER dad 7 years ago and her mother last year. My cousin who was killed 2 days ago lost her only brother and sister over the last ten years. She was the only surviving member of her family. Someone wants to talk to me about reality lets talk. Again thanks Radnine.

Sorry for posting. My cousin was killed 2 nights ago in Toronto. I have been working on the funeral arrangements. I guess for that reason I have been a little edgey. I apologize.

Everyone has to be able to take a joke in life,BUT many of us let our son or daughter use this site as a tool to bring two elements in life together, fishing and family time. I do not think he meant anything negative by this , but better judgement should have prevailed, especially for the young ones who view the site.

Can a new car starter wrongly installed drain a battery
mr blizzard replied to mr blizzard's topic in General Discussion
Thanks again to everyone who responded including Big Buck and Travis. It was the starter wire touching the frame. The starter, battery and alternator were ok. I guess he was in a rush, being the mechanic. Apparently he did not do a draw test after installing. Thanks again for your help. Cheers. Let it snow let it snow!!!!!!!!!!! -

Thanks Vinnimon, I will check out what you have mentioned as well, thanks again. I agree with you. I think it has something to do with the wiring near the frame. -

Thanks everyone for your input. I work on my own and work has been slow, compounded with payments for my sons braces . Just want to make sure I am covering the bases before I get taken advantage of. Money is still tight for many people. Thanks again, I really appreciate your taking the time to help. That's what OFNers are all about. -
We just had a new starter installed. The next day the car would not start . The volt meter on the dash was way down. The battery was new last year. The alternator 3 years old. Prior to the starter replacement The volt meter hardly moved. It is in our driveway and I am refusing to pay to tow it back to the garage. The mechanic refuses any blame. We rarely deal with him but after using a stick and hammer to loosen the old starer which work, we took it to him as he is 1/4 mile away. Thanks for any help. The starter was new not rebuilt.

Great report Joey and the pictures were amazing. Looks like everyone had a great time. Having been on the OFC for just under a year, this was new to me. Love to do it next year. Where exactly is it and is it held pretty much the same time every year. That moose chile sounds pretty good. Thanks again for sharing the pics.

Informative, inspirational and inspiring. What a tribute to you and your mother. Thanks so much for sharing the story and pictures. I tend to agree with you and Drifter. Cheers. -
Great video and report. Always a pleasure to watch. Not having been out for 3 weeks your video made the downtime pain a little easier to bare.

Sorry about the outboard. Pepper spray shot guns and cams are good ideas. Just like house break ins the bad guys know the turn around time for insurance claims. Get two or three jerry cans and put 1 part gas to 3 parts water in them. Once it is in their machines just start walking down the trail with the 12 guage. Bikes blow up pretty good. Then just follow the scat and you will get them too. Cheers.

Big Cliff, I have tried the virgin thing too, and and even that didn't work . Last year I finally broke down and bought one from the store! (pickerel). As my son called it it was the walk of shame. Buying it instead of catching it. The sad part was he fried it up and ate the whole thing before I got a chance at even the cheeks. Some day we should fish together and break the streak.
