Sadly the ice fishing is winding down, wish it was just starting. But the honey due list has not gone away. I have peeled our tub surround liner off only to find mounds of PL glue left on the tiles which are sound. I have been busting my trying to get rid of glue, sanding scraping etc. I had surgery on my hand in the fall and it can only take so much. Any ideas appreciated. Tight lines.

Good morning, what a great site we have. Could anyone give us any info on atv conditions running from IBP on Simcoe heading north to Fox along the west side. I have not been out since Sunday, when there were some slush holes already forming. I hope to get out tommorow. Any help much appreciated.

I was going to say something funny regarding Valentines Day but started reading more about the Tyler event. The more I read about it and the more you observed regarding all the efforts of the members it actually started a little h2o in my eye. It will be 6 years at the end of February when God decided he needed some good workers to help him. He chose my daughter as one of them and I am sure she is doing a great job. I would be proud of her. It is so uplifting and positive to see people in the OFC with all different backgrounds come together to support such a great family and cause. There is always a positive to a negative. We have gained a new member in our family the OFC. If it is at all possible we will try to be there that day to do our little part. Next year we will hope to do more. Thanks for accepting us into the OFC. We are blessed to have a super 14 year old son who loves to fish and spend time in the great outdoors. You are the best.

Simple fish prep for putting in smoker
mr blizzard replied to mr blizzard's topic in General Discussion
It works best for hot smoke. I can do about 3 pounds at a time on medium heat for between 4 to 5 hours. You could easily get away with adding 2 more pounds of fish and give it a little more time. -
I am wanting to take my son and wife out to try for a laker this weekend. We would be coming from the Bracebridge area and heading toward Windermere, from there what is the easiest way to get out on the lake. Any help greatly appreciated and good luck this weekend.

You come from a good part of the country, Sturgeon Falls is where my mom was born and raised. I fire mine up in the garage and cover it with a slightly larger metal cover . Cheers.

Hard Water Fishing - Father Daughter Duo Style
mr blizzard replied to Leecher's topic in General Discussion
Nice video, Family, friends and the great outdoors that is what it is all about. Congratulations to you both. -
My brother uses this on the west coast for salmon and halibut. Lay fish strips in a casserol dish. In a separate bowl add 3 cups of demmorara sugar(comes from bulk stores, combo of brown sugar and molasses) and mix in 1/2 cup non iodized pickling salt. You can use up to 3/4 if u want. Pour over top of fish and cover with Saran wrap. Do NOT put in fridge over night. Leave on counter over night , or somewhere else where your pet won't get a free snack. In the morning drain the liquid off and fire into the smoker. Salmon and lakers come out the best but the whitefish was not to bad either. Just pat dry with paper towl before going into smoker. No bother with air drying, pelicle etc.

Sudsmaster we hope to get over there tomorrow. We would be coming from the Bracebridge side. Thanks for any directions.

I made the mistake of taking my son out on the quad near Clevland house early in the week. SLUSH, SLUSH and more Slush. The quad felt like an amphibious car. Can anyone help me regarding access to lakers around Windermere whether on foot or by quad. Hope to take my son and wife out tommorow. WE would be coming from the Bracebridge side. Thanks again.

If u try kijiji change the name of the city in the upper right corner. We looked under Toronto, Barrie, Muskoka and finally Sudbury. We picked up a 400, liquid cooled, 4x4 with 370 miles on it. It was a 95 and we paid 2700. It took a few months to find. I agree with the others, they don't go down in value much. Keep an eye out for some auctions also.

Good for u, I went thru the same with my wife. We looked for over a year and ended up with a polaris 400 liguid cooled. Mint. Brands are brands. Air cooled I would stay away from esp. if alot of summer use. Winter not a problem. Oil cooled a bit better. Liquid cooled covers all the basis. Keep the rad clean. Stay away from Canadian Tire stuff.
