  1. As mentioned before see if you can find a used lower end. I had to get mine done this year and for $100 more I would have been back in business in less than a week then almost 5 weeks.
  2. Would you say the same thing about steelhead seeing they are not a native specie either ?
  3. As others have said could be thermostat think there is a way to test the impeller if pull the lower end and are able to turn the shaft at a good speed.
  4. Just pick your days and do the research for the winds using all of the tools and apps available and if you can fish when the weather and winds permit and not just a weekend guy or your trips could be limited. It is not cheap to get started that’s for sure.
  5. How much do you want to spend on a boat? As mentioned before morning smaller than a 17 footer and get a deep haul. Prices of boats are up due to what lots are calling COVID pricing. Check Spoonpullers out for lots of information and do your research before posting questions as lots can be found by going back through posts. I also recommend 2 downriggers as well a couple dipseys setups and then go from there. Find deals on lures and gear online. Good luck with all of your searches etc.
  6. If you want some good insight I would contact Josh at Angling Outfitters in Woodstock
  7. Most of the ice around Steve’s in about 5 inches now and growing. Yesterday there was a city up towards the damn set up.
  8. I would suggest maybe trying a bit deeper 200-250 if you are not marking fish where you typically like to fish. I would also try running one rod in and around 35-45 fow as the bows might be hanging in and around there.
  9. The 29.5 was weighed in Owen Sound and is leading the derby now.
  10. I’m hoping to upgrade next year to the newer model as I want to run two units on my boat. I have to say though that I do love my current GO7 XSE.
  11. If you ever want to link two units down the road I would recommend the new Simrad Go Series units. The new units will link via wireless so no cables are required. Check out the Simrad website if you’re interested.
  12. Found this link on another board https://www.theglobeandmail.com/life/first-person/article-why-fishing-is-so-good-for-the-soul-but-maybe-not-your-liver/

  15. Gino text me at 519-501-8571 and I get some info from you and then will talk to him
  16. Gino, I deal with Blue Sky Marine in New Hamburg a lot. I can check with another buddy to see if he has some free time as well to look at it for you.
  17. I was also going to recommend Windmill Caps north of Elora. They have a huge selection.
  18. Check this place out for paints http://luremaking.com/catalogue/catalogue-index/lure_paints-index.htm
  19. Truly amazing..those young faces say it all
  20. This is what I could find on CP24 http://www.cp24.com/news/wb-highway-401-closed-in-oshawa-for-police-investigation-1.1782469
  21. Either go out of Port Bruce or Port Burwell. If you go out of Bruce head a little east. Most of the guys are fishing in 58 to 60 fow and set your riggers around 35 fow. If you are just using riggers, I would set one at 30 fow and the other at 35 and see what happens. You might even want to try around 40 fow. Go about 2.7 to 2.9 for speed on GPS, that is what I usually run. Good luck and let us know how you make out.
