  1. Thanks. I use iMovie '11 that came installed on my iMac. Pretty clever piece of kit, only just beginning to get the hang of it.
  2. Hi all, plenty of snow and time on my hands…. messing around with the pup and the GoPro today. (click the gear symbol in the bottom right corner of the video window and select 720HD)
  3. You're awesome Wayne! Oh….please do a report showing the waterside construction…that would be beyond coooooool!
  4. no more snow….2 weeks of -20C to firm up and a new Otter 3-man with thermal material.
  5. Awesome…..wish i could get hold of some of that cheap…..i could start my own business installing that on everyones ice shacks and sleds!
  6. It does not seem so long ago that i watched in amazement through a pub window in Soho (near to the South African Embassy in London) crowds of people in the street celebrating the release of Nelson Mandela. It really marked the beginning of the end of a system of brutal racial repression. What an extraordinary man……..truly free…. at last…..RIP and thank you.
  7. It upsets me to think going off fishing is even possible!
  8. Skaters? you mean Avril Latrine & Co?……….PFFFFT…..the sanitized, corporate version of 'alternative subculture'. They would poo their skinny jeans at a King Kurt concert….lol.
  9. The Police too were almost exclusively a reggae inspired band, Blondie also pumped out a few tunes of that ilk. The stuff i loved from the seventies and eighties also inspired the whole Ska, Skinhead, Rudeboy/2Tone fashion/music scenes of my childhood. The group 'Madness' or 'The Specials' would be the mainstream face of those groups. Just a wicked time to have been growing up. In the same schoolyard you would see….Punks, Goths, Numanoids, Rockabillies, Teddy Boys, Psychobillies, Smoothies/Casuals, New Roamantics, Rude Boys, Skinheads, Soul Boys…….boy was it a time of TRIBES!
  10. RIP Junior Murvin, Another great passes over….irreplaceable…sad loss.
  11. Disgusting starting wage…how can they even begin to ……………. Just kidding Cliff
  12. Hi all, npt1's post about xmas memories inspired me to post this. It just made me think of what i was missing back in England but how we were in the process of making new memories for the future in our new home across the sea with our own family. Jack and Mum and yours truly put the tree up this morning and of course i had the camera running….put this together, i have watched it a few times already today and it has really put me in the xmas mood. Hope you all have a great festive season…... Peace , love and chocolate! Limey and family.
  13. For me it was all about being at home. Fondest memory is my dad under the tree handing out the presents one by one to everyone, that tradition was is still going but we have not shared an xmas with the folks since we moved here 7 years ago. My other favourite memories are the great food and hilarious conversations at the dinner table with some amazing, funny, kind and generous friends and family. I also always loved the anticipation of our Christmas stocking at the end of our bed in the morning….CHOCOLATE FIRST THING IN THE MORNING!!!!!!!!!!AWESOME! Merry xmas to you to npt1, nice post.
  14. Definitely the ugly stick for toughness, add any of the shimano spinning reels at $40 range to that and you would have fantastic starter combos.
  15. Dood…we better get our act together and start 'reprezentin'
  16. Great stuff Chris, really nice fish….one species i've attempted to catch many times….i said attempted because i failed every attempt! Very jealous!
  17. I absolutely agree with you Whopper……this is not an American(USA), Canadian or British phenomenon it is unfortunately symbolic of a global malaise, that of consumerism, yeah…we need stuff….want stuff….but at what expense? Our values? What if anything are 'our values' these days? I see and here peoples' consumerist values everyday……"i buy my kids all the best clothes" = i am a good parent? I THINK NOT. Ok…i am going to go and get some minnows now so my wife can drill me a couple of holes outside the house( sucks having surgery on your arm ) so we can spend the last few hours of the weekend goofing around in the snow out on the lake!
  18. Exactly….meanwhile corporate profits are at the highest levels ever…despite the economy in the $%$# on a global scale.
  19. we all scramble around for"bargains" but i can't help getting the feeling we are being royally screwed whatever the price. Just this morning for example….looking on amazon.ca for a scuba lens for my GoPro. Amazon.ca is 2x the price as Amazon.com!!!! What the heck is that all about….just nonsense… http://www.amazon.com/Backscatter-Flip-Up-Magic-Filter-GoPro/dp/B00BUE43EE/ref=sr_1_2?m=AAJAT2UT3Y69Y&s=merchant-items&ie=UTF8&qid=1385906463&sr=1-2 http://www.amazon.ca/Backscatter-Flip-Up-Magic-Filter-GoPro/dp/B00DCTZ6SW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1385906199&sr=8-1&keywords=Backscatter+Flip-Up No amount of "oh its the tax we pay here" , or, "oh export/import cost", or "currency fluctuation" psychobabble has me convinced that it is anything other than being held ransom because "what the hell ya gonna do about it BUDDAY?". Well, i'm not sure what i can do about it….but i am definitely getting to the point where not doing anything is no longer an option…hopefully more people will feel the same and then WE can effect some change…cuz this is crap. I need to go fishing.
  20. I did not even know it was on….lol….but that's Dryden.
  21. Good for a CV….but $20 ph for completion of Uni??? I was earning $11 ph at Lion on the Beach pub near Woodbine racecourse 23 years ago!!!!! I was a line cook! Wow….as i was writing this a few others got in before me….seems i am not alone in thinking $20 is outrageous!
