Hi all, Spent the whole day with Jack at the ice shack….not even a bite, but we had a blast. Mum noticed we were there on her way home from work and payed a visit. Jack sent her packing right away to get pizza as he wanted to stay longer so suggested we had supper there too. Awesome to have the shack out again, missed last year and thought i was going to miss out again. It was windy and snowy, but a welcome relief to see temperatures in the low -20C range after what seems like weeks of daytime -30C!

Hi all, This weather is ridiculous….warms up enough to snow then gets so cold you can't go out to play in it. Lots of time inside the last couple of days. Lots of good food too….put on a few pounds….lol. New years supper was awesome, but in our house we think the best thing about having a roast lamb supper is you get to have Lamb Sharwarma Kebabs the next day! 1) Spice the lamb with curry powder, garlic powder, cumin powder, coarse sea salt and cracked black pepper (secret ingredient is a chicken oxo cube sent from England) a touch of olive oil and broil on hi until the lamb gets crispy. 2) Warm some pitta bread to stuff it all in when the lamb is just about done, I have coleslaw(no dressing), lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, fresh flat leaf parsley, pepperoncini peppers and some lemon and lime wedges to squeeze over the top. 3) For your chilli sauce use Old El Paso Taco sauce and add (to taste) cumin powder, franks hot sauce or tobasco, and some Dry Garlic Sauce (available at Walmart)……. I'd say for homemade it is pretty darn good….had worse in Lebanese restaurants! lamb is awesome…….i'll probably get shot for saying it….WAY BETTER THAN MOOSE!

That dog would never get to lick me again!

Still have to try it out, it got cold enough to snow….dumped a foot then went back to minus -30s again

I say forget TV for your morals and family values, switch the darn thing off, get outside and do something with your family, instead of relying on some ridiculous 'reality' show to set the example, lead from the front!

Me too…….it was Jack's idea, he chose the paint colour too! Original to say the least.

Hi all, What a great morning thanks to a good buddy. Moved the iceshack down to the ice road on my buddies trailer. Jack (my 4 year old son) is so happy that it is out again after missing out last year. Went back to get a couple of pics on a brutally cold evening (-33C), but the clear skies made for some great Fire&Ice shots at sunset. Feeling very blessed to have a wonderful loving family, a few trusted, loyal friends and many friendly acquaintances and living in a stunningly beautiful part of the world(with some pretty decent fishing). Hope you all have a great new year….HEALTH AND HAPPINESS to you all!

I like this place because its NOT all about fishing. Sure….we all share fishing as a passion but this really is a community, where like minded…lol…and not so like minded folks hang out. But believe me…if it wasn't minus stupid degrees C outside….i would be fishing and report posting for sure.

Probably a hell of a lot less than they paid

YEAH…i found them all while getting to know the lake ….lol! That second make shift ploughed road got me good 3 years ago, hit it at around 45mph on the XLT….holy crappola….I landed perfect luckily. I walked back and measured from the take off point to where i landed…..more than twenty paces!!! Its particularly bad on the overcast days when you cannot see contours, even the hardened tracks through old slush can be an issue if you hit them unexpectedly and at speed.

Good article here for differences between Hero 3 and 3+ http://www.cinema5d.com/news/?p=21225 Its states that the battery life is increased because it has a 1180mAh battery now. I have been using a 'Wasabi' brand battery with my Hero3 which boasts 1200mAh….i have seen no noticeable improvement in battery life with the camera in use, what i have noticed though is the Wasabi batteries hold their charge when not in use whereas the GoPro brand batteries are absolute $#%$#@# and are dead after a few days non usage.

Awesome report! Made me smile. Love the minnow shop adventures. My son (4.5) years old has his own step stool to reach the tanks behind the counter at my local bait shop, he is allowed to catch my minnows for me. Thanks for sharing, got to love kids enthusiasm.

Hi all, Had a physio appointment this morning, got there in plenty of time even though it was at rush hour. My physiotherapist actually asked me to come over by sled, she thought it would be really cool as nobody had done it before, seeing that i can see the surgery from my house…..had to oblige! she gave me pretty much the all clear as far as the elbow goes and no more appointments…..just some stretches, time to drill some holes me thinks

Helped move my buddies shack into position on Thunder Lake. The 1200 4 Tec (puuuurrrrrrr) with low gear was definitely the star of the show! Jan 1st trout opener got a little warmer….its gonna be chilly too.

Come on Art…you have to post one of those videos….pleeeeeeeeeez!

First off i don't think you can get any decent apps for Blackberry? Found this but reviews are not that great http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/28892894/?countrycode=CA&lang=en You can buy a LCD Bacpac (more $$$). What 'program' are you trying to download?

I remember as a kid (1971 when i was 3 or 4) we used to go to Christie Pits Park on Bloor. That was some hill! After we would always go to a place called Ed's Ice Cream Parlour (not to be confused with the one at The Beaches now). Hot fudge sundae and a nickel in the duke box to play The Popcorn Song………..WOW….I loved Techno music before there was techno music LOLOL. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_wy_Pr1bqM&list=RDNjxNnqTcHhg
