  1. X2 Only Shell for my outdoor toyz
  2. Thanx for the link. That battery is awesome! Their ad states "no trickle charger needed, loses only 10% of charge over a year of static use". What does "static use" mean? Can U recharge these batteries, cause after 5 years now you have used 50%. Can any one enlighten me?
  3. Hwy 400 runs north/south, so Fish Ontario would be on the east side (right side). Do U get lost very often in WalMart? Sorry couldn't resist LOL
  4. Sorting through tackle for hours, preparing your gear for hours, tying new harnesses for hours, washing/waxing the boat, washing/waxing the truck, numerous trips to BPS, LeBarons, Fishing World, Erie Tracker, Grimsby Tackle, Ramakkos, Ellwood Epps, Trombleys (sorry if I missed anyone). Isn't that what U R supposed to do?? My wife says Sobeys has perch filletts on sale for $11.99 per pound. If I added up all the $$$ I've spent on rods, reels, tackle, boats, ATVs, ice huts, trucks & outdoor clothing I figure my fish only cost me $1,248.00 per pound!!
  5. Can't help U out with specs, I target walleye. Not saying I wouldn't mind specs if I knew where to go.
  6. Thanx for the info, good to know. I'm gonna file this one.
  7. I just met Tony & Alex at the G2G on Callandar Bay. This is tragic. My sympathies to Alex & the other family members.
  8. After a day of fishing I open all the trays, lay them out in the garage till they R dry. U can clean the rust off by gently rubbing the hooks with steel wool. Be sure to use leather gloves while removing the rust or it is going to be a big OUCH! Rust on lures is also caused by storing them in the same trays as salted tubes. I store my salted tubes in zip lock bags or tupperware type containers with nothing else. Hope this helps.
  9. I also have a jiffy (2hp) which is 5 years old with starting/running problems. What my mechanic discovered was - gas was leaking out of the vent screw on the gas tank as I was drilling holes. As the gas dripped down it was being sucked into the carburetor, soaking the foam air filter which in turned was causing it to run as though it had full choke. He put in a new O ring where the carb is mounted to the machine, a new fuel line (old line was soft). He suggested I only pour in 1/2 a tank of gas to avoid spillage. He also turned up the idle just a bit. My new starting procedure is to put on full choke, 1 or 2 pulls (till it coughs),set choke to 1/2 choke, pull cord 1 maybe 2 times. My auger starts right away. Let it warm up at 1/2 choke, as it warms up be ready to turn the choke off. I also close the vent screw on the gas tank to avoid gas dripping down to the carb/air intake. I must open the vent screw after I auger 2 holes while it is idling. Then close the screw, auger a couple of holes, then open the screw once again. I know the operator's manual says to turn the choke off after the inital cough with the choke on full. Their procedure does not work on my machine. Hope this info helps U get more fishing in rather than fight with an auger.
  10. Yes, I remember watching his show as a child with my father. Just to explain how long ago that was, we had a black & white TV, probably a "large" 12" screen, maybe 3 channels & U had to get out of your chair to change channels. Oh yah & my father drove a 1956 Buick Special. That was a tank!!
  11. Hey Alex, my condolences to you & your family. I met with u & your dad at the recent G2G on Callandar Bay. To refresh your memory I'm half of the Brian & Brian team. Your dad was so proud of U when U iced the 3 walleyes in less than 30 minutes. Shows he was an exceptional person. Keep strong for your mom & I'm thinking of you at this time. All my love Wormdunker
  12. Joey Tiger (I've renamed U at the M&G) HA HA. I'm not familiar with that unit but to share info, I recently bought the Humminbird Ice 55. I love it. Very user friendly, dual beam transducer, zoom into 5' zones of the water column, watch my bait go down, watch fish as they come up for a sniff. U can check your battery usage with a simple click of a button. I've used it approximately 9 hours & used only 20% of the battery. I'm very happy with it. Good luck with your choice. Pls post what U purchase.
  13. Nice fish, as U say good way to end the day! How much ice?
  14. Thanx for the info. I want to get one cause sometimes gas/oil blows back on me as I'm driving my ATV & stained my floater suit. My auger is mounted on the front of my machine
  15. Thanx for the info. It sounds positive for Nipissing. I was out off Sturgeon, there is certainly no shortage of fishermen!!
  16. Nice fish, excellent pix. Must have been a slippery walk, I don't see any snow at all. How much ice?
  17. dbox -help me out. how do U use auto lock, I'm an electronics amateur. Thanx for helping
  18. Thanx for your reply, please enlighten me with the pros of the 76. Can U download maps or have to buy them. I recently purchased an app for my iphone ($15.00) as opposed to $300.00 for the chip 5 years ago for my chartplotter. Today I was on Nipissing & found navionics is awesome. Do I need a newer GPS or is the Navionics app on my phone good to go?? Thanx for your help
  19. Hey CKRB I'm not familiar with the Lowrance models U mentioned although I did have The Lowrance 100xc color finder. I recently purchased a Humminbird Ice 55 flasher. Used it yesterday for the first time, then today as well. Love it, user friendly & I'm an older guy with limited computer/tech knowledge. U can zoom in a 5' area of your water column, watch your bait go down to your level, also view if a fish is sniffing out your offering. It's amazing but a little pricey, then U would need something for soft water. I also checked out the Humm 385 i which is a flasher, GPS, & soft water capabilities. Just adding my opinion. Good luck
  20. Hey Bill How do I access EXIF data on my i phone? Thanx for your help
  21. Nah The fish weren't cooperating for me, but another person did very well, not too far from where I was NO FISHING!! HA HA!
  22. Blue gill, R U saying when U take a photo of say your fish at a particular lake GPS coordinates R automatically included? Please confirm. This would be awesome!
  23. I have an older GPS Garmin 72 which I think needs to be replaced. Brand new batteries only lasted 3 hours (good thing I carry extra batteries) although it was inside my jacket pocket most of the time. The other problem was getting me back to the launch at 5:30 -it's getting dark!!. I'm new on Nipissing, I travelled 11 miles on my quad around islands, points & bays. The area I was in has numerous Islands to navigate. To return to the launch area I put it on the "page" where U follow your trail back from where U started from. I call this a "cookie crumb trail". Very simple. Wrong! It took me to the south side of a particular Island & I should have been on the north side. Can any one comment as to what went wrong?? I also have the Navionics app ($15.00) loaded in my iphone - Good thing! Iphone problem is the app "times Out" & U have to restart your phone. I'm sure there R better GPS's on the market. Please advise. Thanx for your help
