  1. Today -9°C* -19 Sat -11°C -19°C Sun -1°C -13°C Mon 0°C -2°C Tue -7°C -17°C
  2. I spent an hour in my hut this morning adding some exanding foam insulation to the gaps between the joists. I am going to add a bit of insulation (free stuff from my bathroom demo this past spring) and finish some of the walls with some thin ply. Can't wait to see the finished product fishNwire.
  3. Which idea Matt? I'm full of them. You gonna take me out to one of your secret back lakes this winter?
  4. Just googled it. It is within the old "Diver" park. Off McConnell Lake Rd. Tons of lakes back there. I have fished 2 or 3 of them years ago and was skunked each time. From what I have heard there is alot of bait fish in those lakes making the bite difficult. I just spoke to a buddy that was there last winter. Perch only for them. Cabins are top notch, owners are great. He said it took them an hour to get in and 40 min. to get out. A lot longer then the 25 min. on the website.
  5. Walk around in your bare feet? Like Wayne said....if the other people had insurance they would be responsible. Whatever you do about the glass write it down and have any work you do witnessed. Keep receipts for any costs.
  6. Like I said. You may have to keep driving North when you hit North Bay.
  7. If I asked her again (after 6 years and 2 boys) she might say "no". Better to just stick with the status quo and pretend it is a fairytale.....and they lived happily ever after.
  8. All good. B.B. Just a slow morning and we have never exchanged "barbs". You are a great member of this board as you are able to take a joke and joke back. Much appreciated here. Sinclair, keep building!
  9. There MAY be safe ice (4") on some small lakes by the 26th around North Bay.......but I doubt it. My guess for 6" of safe ice is MINIMALLY North of Temagami. 3 hours North of North Bay has plenty of ice. Kenogami Lake Here is the December 9th picture with the 1st hut out in the narrows. That was 6" then. May be 12-15" by now.
  10. build it big and STRONG as that is how I am. B.B. I'll give you the "big" part of that statement.here's just one of the cranes (similar) I operated. How did you ever fit in that thing? It's pretty small. Looks like it couldn't lift an ice cube never mind an ice hut.
  11. Coming along nicely.
  12. That sucks man.
  13. "Up A Pole" is my suggestion. Brilliant eh?
  14. One year, about 15 years ago, we couldn't fish until Feb. 4th! Not sure if or when the bungalows got out then (or if there were even bungalows then).
  15. If one landed on a cougar we will NEVER find it.
  16. Yep, that is the way I went too. My 3 year card (hunting and fishing) is still good until Dec. 31, 2012.
  17. Just checked mine and it is o.k. until Dec. 31, 2012. Just thought I would send out a friendly reminder.
  18. Just wait until I report catching one through the ice.
  19. DEFINATELY won't be huts out for the 1st. I still plan on fishing Callander Bay but will be on foot. +7 or +8 (depends on what website you look at) forecasted for Thurs. North Bay Forecast
  20. LOL it was a compliment to your creativity rants not needed. Great job.
  21. Well done Skip-D. However, you failed to menmtion the rants = locked threads.
  22. Lol, just razzing you. A little North Bay / Sudbury competition. You definately win with shopping and restaurants!
  23. Dann, option B will tear off his wind screen if he goes highway speed with out his cover on. Matt, my guess is 2-3" per side loss max. My little truck (2004 Ford Explorer Sportrac) has a box too small for anything except groceries so I trailer my sled. I have a nice ramp/gate on my trailer so it makes it alot nicer for loading and unloading. Additionaly my sled is 9' long so it would hang out 4' !
  24. Drove both ways and would reccomend the U.S. route during the winter. Yes the Northern states can be just as bad for weather but like someone else posted there are not as many LONG stretches without little towns and service stations.
  25. Is it on the same side or opposite side as your 357 Mag.? Sudbury is a rough town.
