  1. I won't if you don't ....or maybe I should, at least we won that game!!!!
  2. Much as I love hockey, this is almost as good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. LOL...by the way, if we win tonight...we play Russia tomorrow, not Thursday!
  4. "But...we are gonna kick your ass!"....sorry TJ, I couldn't resist
  5. Tonight's game will show what the team is made of...GO CANADA GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Just did my re-cert last Tuesday as well...it is a job requirement for me, but, a good thing to know for anyone.
  7. THAT is beautiful...and you guys are really contributing to my "wanna catch a musky fever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
  8. I almost feel sorry for Brodeur, the guy has stood on his head for so many years, to hear some of the comments being made, sad. Personally, I would have had Luongo in for the game against the US...still don't know why Pronger is in the line-up, thought he sucked 4 years ago...a younger defenceman with wheels (take your pick) would have been a wiser choice.
  9. It sure is...can't wait to go back!! Agreed on the hard to hook as well...went 2 for 4 and had four minnows ripped off during a stronger current period. Anybody that hasn't been, that wants to have a shot at large...make that LARGE walleyes...Quinte is the place to go!!
  10. Anybody else wondering why Luongo isn't in net, and what the heck is Pronger doing out there...looks about as good as he did four years ago. Other than that the boys are working hard, Miller is doing what he does best. Frustrating to watch.
  11. Beauty catch, Steve! See you on March 6th...hopefully get into some of those lakers or whities!!
  12. Nice laker Bill, sounds like a great battle! The event sounds like a great cause, have to shoot for next year.
  13. Nice going, guys! Some nice whities, giving me a craving for smoked fish, lol!
  14. I received the Berkley scale as a Christmas gift, about 12 years ago...did a test at work recently using our certified scale, the Berkley is still within an ounce or two on five different weights I measured. Accurate enough for me!
  15. Garry, it is what it is...not worth taking personally...the last actual fishing report I put on here had zero replies as well, oh, well. You must realise that there are alot of younger guys on these forums, or people that are new to a form of fishing that ask some of those questions legitimately. I know when I asked about musky rods, I got alot of responses, including many offers for used rods...one of which I purchased, another that I still might. Granted there are many topics that just make me shake my head...ignore them and move on. Great info on the reels. Good luck and good fishing!!
  16. Last week, our group did well with Northland Macho Minnows and Buckshot spoons, chartreuse and perch. Not sure how busy Stoty is this week, but, maybe he can chime in on this one.
  17. Nice...done that a couple of times myself...great look on their face when a steelhead jumps behind them.
  18. Yup, and, not just pinning...same goes for bottom bouncing on quicker water...you cast upstream and drift down. While on the subject another mistake alot of "newbies" will make is walking right out on top of the fish...don't know if it is a "wow I just got my first pair of chest waders, see how far out I can go" type thing or what, but, if everyone else is fishing on or near the banks there is a reason for it.
  19. That's what I figured, thanks for the answer
  20. Would it have enough guts to handle musky fishing?
  21. Ahh, the 10 COMMANDMENTS of river fishing...seen it before, and, pretty much sums it up...good points on the "elitists" and keeping of fish...if you enjoy a meal and are fishing on a healthy system by all means keep a fish or two.
  22. Bottom line it boilds down to common courtesy and common sense. SoloP hit the nail on the head...don't do anything you wouldn't want done to you...watch techniques, if you come upon a stretch of water where everyone is using floats, don't squeeze in and start tossing a spinner...and vice versa, if using a float where other guys are using a different technique, don't let it drift half way down the river. I try to stay away from the crowds I used to fish, getting old I guess, also doesn't hurt to introduce yourself and ask if the guy/gal minds if you fish near them...most times us "river rats" will be polite in return. Good luck out there, nothing like a bow hitting your offering and launching itself into a cartwheel!!!!
  23. That is pretty amazing, hope I can still fish with my old man at 90...heck hope I am fishing at 90!!!!! Lets hope you guys are still doing it at 100!!!!
  24. The better half and I were out with Stoty of G2 on Valentine's day, awesome experience on the Bay of Quinte. The fishing and company were excellent...many big fish landed including my PB walleye after about 45 minutes of fishing, 10 lbs, 29".... It took until almost the end of the day, while all the rest of us were hooking, catching, and losing (man I lost a pig!!!!!!!!) Juli, had lost one and missed a few, but nothing out of the hole...until Jamie stepped in and does what a guide does best...coached Juli into catching her PB walleye, 7 1/2 lbs... What an awesome end to the day...great fishing, awesome company...all the fish landed by us were released...lost a nice eater at the hole, that would have come home with us!! Big thanks to Jamie and the rest of the G2 crew...a class act all the way. Wish I was out there again today
