  1. Congrats to Kelli!!!! I definitely have to give those Simcoe smallies a shot. Nicely done, Steve.
  2. I like Garry's idea...once you have measured it one time it is a no-brainer after that. As long as you don't have a break off, and, lose line.
  3. Hey, Mike...funny you should mention a Symetre, not sure how well they are made these days, but, I have one that I bought in 1990 (probably as old as you )a 4000 model that I use exclusively for chucking spoons and body baits off piers. I've lost count of the number of salmon and bows landed with this reel. Still works like a charm, after 100's of line peeling fish!
  4. Funny, just saw one on clearance at Walmart. Not sure how well they work, think it was a Berkeley line counter.
  5. Another great family outing, Ryan!! I'll send you and Dan a PM sometime this week, maybe we can all get out on the Bay this weekend.
  6. Next week I might be out there too! Nice Dan, sure pays to stay away from the EC 10 pack at times.
  7. Oh, the colours/markings on those September males Sounds like an awesome trip!
  8. Sorry, should edit this...the purple/pink lure isn't the Alligator...it is the red/silver spoon. That is most definitely a Delfin Alligator. Nice pick-up...do you want to sell it? I picked one up myself years ago at a Flea market...still have it and a couple old ones...one of THE ALL TIME BEST Lake Huron steelhead spoons for whipping off the piers. Kicks a Little Cleos butt most days.
  9. That would be Rotten Ronnies. He had plenty last week. Guys name is Jimmy, good guy, loves to talk fishing. He charges $5 a scoop (a generous scoop) for minnows.
  10. I was out last weekend in a 14 fter with a 15 hp in similiar conditions. Don't stray too far out, if you are looking for perch straight out from the park towards EC 10 is a good bet. Watch the winds, don't take any chances. There are perch in closer as well.
  11. Not sure where you will be "untangling" more lines...at the Credit or at the event, LOL!!! Good luck and have a great time, Ryan!!!!
  12. I've been waiting for these. Absolutely specatacular, can't wait to see the rest!!
  13. There was a thread on this awhile back. It is also a good idea to have proof of ownership (copy of the bill of sale). For towing make sure you have trailer ownership as well.
  14. Wicked, as usual!! If you notice a strange lump curled up in your boat next time you are heading out, don't worry it is just me being a "stow-away"
  15. Tough luck on the tourney, Steve. Juli had a day like that on Sunday on our local lake...she hooked four bass, couple of decent ones, and lost them all. Sounds like a great day fishing with the bride-to-be!!
  16. Now THAT's what I call fishing. How do you weigh them in?
  17. That's basically how we ran our little "derby" on Scugog, as well as the Fish-a-Thon for cancer. Great way for the fish to stay in the area they know as home...rather than being carted around in a livewell for hours and released "willy-nilly". Think it is a great idea!!!!
  18. My condolences, sounds like you two had a special relationship.
  19. We always seem to be getting it one way or another from insurance companies, as their profits keep getting bigger. Side-note for Ryan...would be a shame to shut that fireplace down. Was nice to have burning even in late August on the Fish-a-Thon day. Plus it is one heck of a conversation piece.
  20. ..........that first blank space, was me wiping the drool away from my chin Well done, Pete. Absolutely stellar year for 'skis. That 50 can't be far off!
  21. Sad news, most of the lakes we go out on with my 14 fter, I don't wear my PFD. However, we all wore them out on LPB this past weekend. Not worth taking any chances on big water.
  22. LOL...think I caught the same sheepshead at Long Point Bay this weekend. Sounds like a good time, and, once again, wow on the water levels this year.
  23. Nice, Ryan!! Better tell Dave to watch out, Averie will be hosting her own show soon!
