  1. Some great fish there...and that was a hog for sure! Congrats on getting out there...you guys did well. Great to see you back in action after the problems you had last year...awesome report Silvio!
  2. WOO HOO!!! Congrats on such a great day! Your daughter is a natural with that jigging rod...a chip off the old block for sure. She'll always remember these days when the two of you get out...special times indeed. Great looking fish...and and awesome pike!
  3. Sweet looking brown! Upload that video to photobucket then create a link. Would love to see the video!
  4. That's pretty sweet!! I've seen the prices of some of those pods...this is a very professional looking home made project...that's looks great too!
  5. After getting skunked on Simcoe yesterday....and the fact that my entire family was away in the States, I decided to sleep in...relax...and head out at the crack of noonish...LOL. I knew the local trib would be a madhouse of activity, so I wasn't in a huge rush to join them all. Got to a nice spot to drift and started out. I talked to a bunch of guys who had been there all day long. Seems people did well in the morning, but the bite slowed quickly as the day went on. I used roe at first, and had one hit...and nothing else really. I then decided to switch it up. They've seen roe bag after roe bag this morning I assumed so I put on one of Kemper's jigs that I won in the auctions...a nice pink one. Sure enough, float goes down on the first drift, but it was a short lived battle. Kept going with the pink for a bit and changed to one of his purple ones. Again...first drift and another fish on! This was a big one...had a hard time getting it out of the main current....eventually....the fish won. Damn...going to be a tough day! Had another on and promptly lost it. I was thinking it wasn't going to be my day.... Finally...as my time was running short, my float goes down...I was ready this time...and got a good hookset! Jumped out of the water a few times, but I brought this one in. Sorry bout the mud on him...was just about to snap the pic and he flipped on the bank. A nearby kid came over to hold it's tail so I could take a quick pic and back in the water. Didn't want to waste time 'cleaning' it off... Anyhow, this is a 26.5"er, an upgrade for team inTENsity!
  6. Hey...are you calling me a moron???
  7. jwl...sorry to hear about the accident and rim issues! Hope they get resolved soon. I've never fished the Niagara for Steelhead before..we'll have to get out there one day...if you are up to playing guide for a day that is! If I leave the tourney sign at home, will that help?? LOL.
  8. Great report Terry! Loved the videos...and the vehicle extraction was pretty cool to see. If it wasn't for morons, we wouldn't have as many fishing stories...or they wouldn't be as interesting anyways...LOL.
  9. Joey...I probably should take you up on that offer!! But I cant...thanks! Still lots of ice out there...lots of ATVs and sleds. Most of the huts were taken off during the day as well. Last weekend we saw tons of cars and trucks out there...today I only saw 4 that were willing to test the ice...so things are changing quickly out there. Good luck Joey! Hope to see another huge fish from you in your report tomorrow...no offense, but I hope it's not a carp....LOL.
  10. Some nice lookin fish there! Looks like a great outing for sure...a surprise spot in a boat...cant beat that!
  11. Seeing all these great reports on Simcoe had me itching to get back out there. Well today, I had my final chance of the year to hit the ice to finally get me that elusive Whitefish. I realized that I really do suck at ice fishing...LOL. I decided I'd be the official photographer instead...snapping up some action shots...since there was no action on my line at all...haha. The day started out to another great sunrise...I could get used to seeing this every day out there. We started the trek out there. Here's Fishnsled's buddy offering to take the gear out... It was a short half and hour walk! Anyhow, Fishnsled got the holes drilled quickly and we all put our lines down. About 4 minutes later, his buddy says 'I got one!!!' I rushed over to fulfill my photographer duties and snapped a series of pics as this fish came up... The clinic today was put on my FnS's other buddy...who iced about 6 and had about a dozen on for the day!! Here's a few of his pics... Here's FnS calling Headhunter for some tips.... So, FnS and I got the big skunkaroo today...but it was an absolutely perfect day to be out there. Nice warm temps...the winds were light...the sun was shining. As we walked back to shore, we noticed that the ice had changed a lot since last weekend...and even from the morning! Here's a section close to shore that looks a little tedious!! And here's the spot we walked over in the morning...only by afternoon it had heaved up 3 feet! Still lots of ice out there, but one thing I did notice is that the clear black ice of last weekend has changed significantly. There were white streaks throughout it everywhere we walked. The ice where we were was very active...loud cracks could be heard as the sun warmed the surface up. I heard...then felt one crack forming and it went between my legs right to the hole I fishing from! I also estimate about a 2 to 3 inch loss of ice from a week ago. Be safe out there tomorrow if anyone is headed out!
  12. Glen Glen Glen.... You know me better than that.... I wont pay more that $10 for that.
  13. Way to go Malcolm!!! I got skunked out there on Simcoe again today...glad someone on our team can actually catch fish!
  14. My skunk report is coming....lol
  15. I don't think he is. I believe he's talking about the Lake Ontario and Erie tribs south of the border.
  16. Sounds like my record Cudz!! Been out on Nipissing...2 full days of ice fishing and nothing. Last weekend I had 3 on at Simcoe, iced none. I'm heading out tomorrow as well, hoping to finally get a whitie!!! Good luck! 733 til 1146? Well, that's the problem, they start biting at 1150.
  17. You let me know when and where Kemper! Been wanting to ask you about that new spot...but if you're going to show it to me then all the better...LOL.
  18. Great...an earthquake on the ice...LOL I've seen how ice can heave and make 6 foot walls where it's crushed together because of wind...pretty powerful stuff!
  19. Your result was the same as all my ice fishing outings this year!!! Ice that makes too much noise is unnerving to me...small cracks are ok...but loud thunderous ones tells me to get to solid ground...and fast!! LOL.
  20. Welcome to the board! Nothing wrong with Pumpkinseeds...but you've come to the right place to broaden your fishing knowledge! Looking forward to hearing from you again. Cliff
  21. Great report Glen! Yeah...half way thru the report I couldn't figure out who those people were in the pics...then I realized it was just you all dressed up...LOL. Nothing like fishing with a buddy!
  22. Steelhead season is just beginning...she has plenty of time to kick my butt all over the tribs!!! LOL
  23. The lunch box stuck on my chest is food for the fish...not me... When are you getting out here Mike? Steelhead fishing is just beginning...I stop fishing for them at the trout opener...so get out here soon and I'll do my darndest to get you into a few. I'm no solopaddler as far as guiding is concerned...but I can catch a few fish by myself at times...lol.
  24. Great job guys! I'm hoping to catch just ONE fish out on Simcoe tomorrow...the day you had would be a banner day in my books!
  25. Great stuff! I'm heading out for one last stab at Simcoe tomorrow! Hoping to catch at least one fish through the ice this year!
