Great report Glen! At least your doing some cathing...bly and I have had some tough days fishing lately...LOL. Sorry to hear about all your running around, but hey, the day turned out pretty good from what I could tell!
-
if you could only have one bait in your box, what would it be?

Since shore fishing has been my mainstay, I'd have to with a good old red devil or 5 of diamonds spoon. Jigging from shore doesn't work too well...LOL. -
Bly and I are looking to fish this weekend...

ccmtcanada replied to BITEME's topic in General Discussion
Dan...thanks for the offer and we'll take you up on those floater suits! Cant wait for that weekend. -
Gerritt...not sure if you've checked out the classified section yet...but this is on there.... http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10416

I know what you guys are saying, and I'd probably do the same thing...what I meant was of ALL the footage they had for this show, they had to air that part??? LOL.
-
Interesting show!! You are right...he kept on saying how good shore fishing is but he never caught anything. Poor Wil Wegman too...only one fish and Bob made him look like an idiot after his "aggressive" hookset...LOL.
-
Hey congrats on your first few bass! That big one is a very respectable fish...anyone would be happy to catch on that size. Great job and nice report.

BAY OF QUINTE MERLIN PARK WEEKEND OF NOVEMBER 17 2007
ccmtcanada replied to BITEME's topic in General Discussion
I'm confirmed sharing a boat with Gerritt! Should be a blast! Thanks Gerritt! Bly and I will be there Friday evening/night and fishing all day Saturday and Sunday. Never thought I'd ever say "Come on November"...LOL. -
Awesome report! If I ever went fishing without bly while up there, I'd be in BIG doo doo!! LOL. So...in your report, you said "I put the remainder of my rod on the dock and patiently walked back to the fire.". Did you just leave it there? LOL. Anyhow, looked like you two had a great time!
-
Great report....times two! Congrats to your son on his new PB. I've had the same issues with a large pike in my area as well. I saw him in the shallows for 5 days in a row during the day. Bewteen bly and I, we threw everything we had at him...spinners, crankbaits, live minnows, you name it! finally on the 5th day, he attacked a jointed shad rap well after dark and I brought him in. Here's a pic of that guy... Dont give up!! Keep on tryin...it feels twice as good when you know you've been tryin to get the same fish for a while!
-
I'm gonna start calling you "CrazyFlyGuy" instead of Crazyhook from now on...LOL. Another awesome carp! Must be a ton of fun fighting them!
-
Great report BigChev! You are getting good use of your new boat this season that's for sure! That pic though...did you catch that fish in the trees? Looks like boat isn't even on the water...LOL. All kidding aside, nice fish!
-
Great report TJ! Spending all this family time up there is what summer is all about. Great pics too...loved the wine glass shot and that tiny pike...LOL. I guess people have to stop saying you never catch anything...I see you caught a baby bass there...hehe. Good on Grandma to outfish everyone with the big fishes for the weekend too! Happy belated anniversary to you and Monique...and also happy birthday to Avery as well.
-
Hey...I was busy fishing with bly tonite getting skunked! I had a good excuse...LOL.

Had a great time out there with some real carp anglers! Weather was perfect, waters looked great, but for me, the bite was really slow. A few line bumps here and there, but no takers on my line. Victor asked Wolfville to watch his line while he headed off in the distance. Wolfville then promptly begins to fight a fish on his own line....then of course, Victor's alarm goes off. I bolt over to it and set the hook...waiting for him to come back. I turn around and he says "you fight it"....he figured he was too far away...or too lazy to run back to it...or he just felt sorry for me...LOL. Anyhow, I landed this nice one. I looked a bit awkward because I am a right hand retrieve....and of course his reel was left hand. Oh well...I still managed to bring this one in. I took a few nice shots, so I thought I'd share these ones. The first one is MJL fighting his first fish of the day. Here's a nice one of Wolfville helping his son bring one in. Lastly, we had these guys hanging around ALL day long...they sure weren't shy, helping themselves to maize that was left out.... Thanks for the invite guys...had a great day out there. The only disappointing thing was that I was looking forward to meeting DSN and seeing Lazybum again, but they couldn't make it.

LOL
-
He's also an accomplished steelhead creek angler as well...cant wait for those reports either.
-
Great report MJL! Nice to see fish other than Carp in your reports too...LOL. Good on you getting out there in the rain...looks like a great time. It was great meeting up with you guys yesterday...had a great time out there, even though I wasn't doing any real catching...haha. Is someone posting a report about that?
-
I will sometimes say that "I dont care if I catch anything", and I do mean it. I'll typically say that if I'm taking my kids fishing. In those times, it's all about them and not me. I've been ice fishing two times, and I have to say it's not high on my list of things to do. Does this make me less of a fisherman? Maybe. The hard thing is what is a "true" fisherman. Some will say that if you dont don the waders and fish the tribs, then you are not a true fisherman. Some will say that if you dont have a boat you cant be a true fisherman. There is not a single definition in my opinion...my thoughts are, if you like fishing then do it as often as you feel the urge. As long as you are happy then who cares how others categorize you.

I agree with Golfisher...all other things being equal, then yes, it could sway me.
-
What a great report! I'm not quite ready for a canoe adventure like that yet...LOL. Looked like a great time...lots of great scenery, fish and relaxation. Thanks for the pics!
-
Very cool pictures! Great sized ski as well of course. I'm hoping to get into at least one with fishnsled in late September.
-
Congrats! Glad to hear everyone is happy and healthy. You'll get sleep eventually...in about a year.
