  1. Very cool report. Great pics too! I'll have to give that lake a try one of these days.

  3. Wow Wayne...reading this scared the crap out of me...I can only imagine what you guys were going through. I was picturing Leah jumping into the water...chaos all around. I'm very happy and relieved that everyone was ok after this ordeal.
  4. It has been tough..but after what I saw last night with the Salmon, I'm putting the 6 foot 6" rod away...my 9 foot surf rod is coming out to battle those scrappy guys!
  5. LOL Terry...form now on I'm sending you my pics before I post them...
  6. This was the first hook up I've seen. Of all the people I've talked to, no one has seen one actually landed yet. I think they are now staging...waiting for cool weather and RAIN! Man...do we ever need rain...and lots of it...not just for fishing, but for my poor lawn...LOL
  7. Wow...you sure opened my eyes! Great way to intro yourself. Welcome to the board and good luck out there!
  8. Great report! I think your son has a face of detemination! Good going yet again...one day I'll be reading about a huge pike or another massive fish that you or your son pull out of there. Great scenery shots...thanks! Good luck today!
  9. LOL Sean...thanks for trying to make me feel better...haha. Dont little bullheads grow up to be salmon? Thought I read that somewhere...
  10. I bet that fisherman's friend is happy though...LOL...sorry...couldn't resist. Firstly...how long has this been going on this bad? If it's been more than 2 days, then GO SEE A DOCTOR! You have an infection of some sort and need antibiotics. Second...if things seem ok on that front, you can get some spray for your throat that basically "freezes" it. Ask your pharmacist about it. Also...drink plenty of clear fluids (water, apple juice) and take some tylenol. Good luck and hope you feel better. Cliff
  11. Well, Bly and I headed to a spot where we've heard some people were hooking some Salmon! We've gone out for the past 3 nights, and while we've heard that there have been hookups, we haven't witnessed one, until tonight. A guy was there with his son, and sure enough I hear the drag peeling TONS of line! The fish went about 50 yards in about 1 second....leaving a HUGE wake across the surface of the water. I dont know how you are supposed to bring one of those in unless you have a HUGE reel with about 500 yards of line on it and then HOPE it doesn't hit any structure...which by the way is EVERYWHERE....LOL. Anyhow, after casting spoon after spoon....crankbait after crankbait....massaging my poor shoulder every night, I decided to put a lindy rig on, and put a good ole fashioned worm on it. I then sat down and relaxed. Suddenly, I get a strong hit...I begin to reel it in and my first thought was "I wonder what this is...it cant be a bullhead...they dont actually fight". I knew it was a small fish, but the thing actually jumped out of the water...LOL. Anyhow, didn't measure or weigh it but here it is...my PB Bullhead...LOL. I look absolutely thrilled dont I??? haha. Thanks for reading this...hope you were not too bored....haha.
  12. Wow Brian...your outings are NEVER boring are they? At least the Tahoe broke down AFTER fishing for the day...LOL. Sounded like a pretty windy weekend, but at least you got out there caught some fish! Too bad about that fox...sometimes you have to make a spur of the moment decision!
  13. Shawn and Ernie....great job out there! You boated more fish in that weekend than I have in the last year...LOL. You guys sure know how to locate and catch em that's for sure. If was good chatting with you the other day Shawn....we didn't catch anything that night...just have to keep on trying. Talk to you later!
  14. Movie shoots can be akin to a circus! There was one in a bookstore by my office at Yonge & Eglinton (South west side...it's not there anymore...I think it was called Edwards). They had those "train tracks" set up outside the store on the sidewalk for the cameras. People were everywhere trying to catch a glimpse of Kelly Preston or Kelly McGillis (always got those two mixed up).
  15. Thanks for enlarging those! They look even better now. I'm sure my brother-in-law wont mind at all!
  16. Wow...great report and pics. Caroline sure is a cutie! Looks like a great area....beautiful scenery.
  17. Hey there Alex! Great report and pics to go along with it! Too bad you couldn't find some of them. Looks like you had a great time out there....fishing the surf. Fishing with the NY skyline in the background must be pretty cool. Looks like a great time out there!
  18. WOW!!! Great report Glen!! Isn't it you giving lectures on this board about always using your lindy glove to others??? LOL. Great report...glad you found some live bait with relative ease this time. Some great pics and fish. That blue cat is amazing! I'd love to catch one of those one day. Great work!!
  19. Hey Patrick. Great report and really cool species! I'm not sure though that that fish was 8 pounds....this pike came in at 8 lbs 3 oz (rapala digital scale). It definitely looks like a Canadian record none-the-less!!! Great job!
  20. When I was back in Cub Scouts (I think around 1975 or 1976), we took a trip to the local gun club. I was about 7 years old at the time. I remember shooting one...didn't like it...hated it actually, and have not wanted to pick one up since....LOL. Who the heck takes a bunch of 7 year olds to a gun club?? haha. I have nothing against shooting for sport or hunting...in fact, I love hearing my older brother's hunting stories. I was just thinking back..and shaking my head...and thinking I'd never let my 7 year old head off to a gun club with a bunch of other 7 year olds and only 2 or 3 adults for supervision...LOL. Now, in a controlled environment, with one on one instruction...that's a different story.
  21. Wow!! Great story and great fish! When I first saw the pic (thumbnail), I thought that was Roy holding that fish...LOL.
  22. I'm speechless....part one kept me glued to my seat. Somehow, part two was even better! Now that I've read this, it will be my goal to fish there...and hopefully have a fraction of your success. Wow. Wow. Jeez.
  23. Wow...what a fantastic report! Loved all the pictures...It's only 930am, but those steaks made my hungry all of the sudden! It's great to be able to spend all that time on the water with your kids...and actually catch fish too! LOL. The "nature calls" pic is a classic. haha. The kids had a great time...these kinds of trips are the ones they'll remember for the rest of their lives...great on you to involve them in your adventures!
  24. You could always "reply" right away and add more pictures that way. The best would be to use photobucket or another offsite image storage site and just link to them. There would be no limit then. Good luck! Looking forward to seeing the report.
  25. Bad and mean!!! LOL. Great report. Great to see you two getting into some fish too. Thanks for the laugh!
