  1. It was a Tornado watch that didn't last too long. A strong thundercell was moving through Pickering at the time. Just a severe thunderstorm watch now.
  2. Of course it does GCD....there there...that's ok....
  3. There's something about your reports this year that's different.....I can't quite put my finger on it. Oh yeah!! There's lots of fish pics!! Monique still kicks your butt as usual, but it's good to see you get into a few too. That's a sweet pike and a massive perch! Great report TJ....glad to see you taking full advantage of Camp Jiggy Jiggy as much as you are this year.
  4. Our little one wanted to know where we fish in the evenings, since we normally don't bring her, but since it's summer holidays we decided to keep her up later than normal and brought her along. She HATES mosquitoes, so on went the long pants and bug jacket despite the hot and humid temps. We set her up with a slip float, small hook and worms and she was off to the races. It didn't take her long...she pretty much caught a fish every 5 minutes her line was in the water. We put the gobies in a bucket to be disposed of at the end of the evening. After catching a bunch of these guys..... She went on to put a multi species clinic on for us including this perch.... Then on to Rockbass Then Bass Some of the Gobies were pretty big too!! Bly and I were throwing larger baits out there in search of some more smallies or anything else of size, but in the end, our little one kicked our butts! Anyhow, she had a great evening out. We left at around 9pm and drove off in search of some ice cream.
  5. Noticed a little extra weight, but didn't really affect the top end speed at all. Still got up on a plane just fine. I'm running an 18hp merc 2 stroke.
  6. I just did the job you are looking for. Check out this thread...hope it gives you some ideas. It worked like a charm for me and it cost minimal cash. http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.p...c=21165&hl= Good luck!
  7. LOL...great truck. The "1" is backwards....just classic....
  8. Just glad to hear that you are on the mend! The cast coming off is a big step in the recovery. The farmers tan comes with a cool story though...could be a good way show off the scars...I hear women love scars and the story that goes with it. Feel free to embellish too.... As far as thanking me...no need...it was just a few PMs to see how you were doing. We'll get out and fish this fall/winter...just don't push it ok?
  9. ACK!!!! Ok Ok Ok...maybe the the scene isn't quite how the picture shows. I used a 5 foot rod and shakespeare reel on string with a paperclip for a hook.
  10. Fisherman hooks and lands a drowning man HALLOWELL, Maine — An angler used his fishing pole to reel in a man who survived a jump from a bridge and was drowning in the Kennebec River. Bob Greene, 42, of Hallowell, said he heard what he thought was a cormorant making noise in the distance at 4:30 a.m. Thursday as he was having coffee and reading his newspaper while waiting for sunrise. About 20 minutes passed before he realized there was a man bobbing down the river. Greene says his first instinct was to jump into the 60-degree water, but a 911 dispatcher told him to throw something to the man. So he snagged the man's shirt with a fishing lure and reeled him in, using 25-pound line and a 4-inch-long lure with three small hooks on the end. An experienced fisherman, Greene said he knew he had to be careful not to snap the line as he worked to bring in the man from 35 yards offshore."It was a struggle to get him out of the current so I could reel him in," Greene said. The man had parked his car on a Cushnoc Crossing bridge in Augusta, jumped 114 feet into the water, and floated about a mile downstream before passing by Greene.Greene did the right thing by calling the police first and not jumping in the water, Hallowell Police Chief Eric Nason said. "Everything just had to add up just right," he said. For his part, Greene said he almost chose to fish in Gardiner on Thursday."For some reason, I was meant to be here," he said. 11. Here are the regs for freshwater fishing. http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/fw/fish/regulations/#Synopsis Looks like you can get a freshwater license online....so you can have it in hand before you leave.... http://www.fishing.gov.bc.ca/
  12. Anything with a leader I like to snell my hooks. Mono, I like the improved cinch knot and with braided line I go to the polymar knot.
  13. Hey Stan....with all these great ideas, you may want to leave a few weeks early and make it a month...LOL. At any rate, looks like a fantastic trip!!!
  14. Dora huh? I had the inside edge that Diego is the way to go....hmm.... Thanks for the tip....
  15. That's not a love handle.
  16. Ahh...I just assumed you were fishing Scugog there...LOL. Ok...sweet pike then!
  17. Marko...depends on what day of the week and time of year. I'm assuming you are leaving today? If so, then I'd aim to be in the city by 10 to 11am. Traffic on a Friday afternoon will really pick up from Pickering thru Oshawa. If you can be thru Oshawa by 2pm you'll be ok...it may slow down a bit here and there but by 3 to 4pm you'll be stuck. Good luck!
  18. Hmmmmmmm.....I don't know....looks like a pike to me.... Just kidding...congrats!!! Must have been a fun ride!!!!
  19. LOL...great picture!!
  20. I don't know that lake at all, but give it a little time. Your intro thread was very well written...stick around read up, reply on other's threads and offer help when you can. What you get in return will MORE than pay itself off.
  21. Hey there Ryan! Very nice intro. That's a sweet looking muskie in your avatar. I may just take you up on Scugog hints as it's the closest lake to me. I'm only about 25 minutes from south end of the lake. Looking forward to more reports and pics soon!
  22. Great report and pics Glen! When I first started reading and I saw you were wearing your shirt, I thought that it couldn't be that cold down there, since we are roasting in 90F heat up here. Then the later pictures showed the Glen we all know....LOL. Very interesting seeing the water temps rise like that during the day....it was almost a steam bath in that last pic there! Oh yeah...nice fish...that catfish looking at the date was hilarious!!!
  23. Yep...just looked back at your pics...you'd have to remove the windscreen to get reasonably good access to it. For some reason I thought it had an open bow...not sure why I thought that because Bly and I almost bought that boat...LOL. Even with the windscreen gone, you'd have to kneel up on that deck to deploy it. Oh sure Glen...now you post the pic after I went back and searched for other posts with pics in it...LOL.
  24. Hey Maureen! I used a transom mount on our 14 footer and while it worked ok, it was a pain in the butt to use as the driver (me) had to constantly control the tiller. While a foot control would have been sweet, I find that the bowmount offers MUCH more control. When it's pulling the boat, the steering is much more responsive than when it has to push the whole boat.
