Very sorry to hear this news Joey. I remember talking to you about the experimental treatment he received years ago. Hoping for the best. Seeing my dad deteriorate was the absolute worst. Cliff -

Yeah Stoty...I've lived thru it with my dad, who lost his 2.5 year battle. I know what you are going through man....stay strong. -
Hey Dan...can I have your boat if you win that sweet Lund??? LOL.
-
Yeah well, I have a good excuse....I've only been fishing for 2 years and never downrigging for salmon in the big lake. Yeah, that's it.... I can catch em just fine from shore....haha. Now, go shoot up your pickup truck or something....or whatever it is you do for fun down south.

WOW!!! Awesome Percher!!! I'l keep my fingers crossed for you...maybe a nice cold front will swoop down and turn the bite off. Good luck!

Just goes to show you how much I DON'T know about fishing. I have no idea what the heck you are even talking about Joey....LOL.

I don't fish docks very often...but if I see anyone in the water nearby, I don't even get close. If I see anyone in the yard, I skip it too. I've had some cottagers chat with me as I pass by....asking how the fishing has been and actually telling me that there is a huge largemouth under there and to try to catch it. Just a suggestion, and I know that I'd abide by the request, have you ever thought of putting a sign up that says politely "Please do not fish my dock. Thank you"? I know that I'd comply with your request and be on my way.....and I think others would too. The jerks who don't really care wont listen one way or another, but I think may anglers would be happy to leave your dock alone. Thanks for speaking up though....it's a gutsy move on a fishing board. If things get nasty here, it doesn't reflect the opinions of everyone. Cheers.

A Very Interesting Read About Cancer (Definitely NF)

I hear you Joe...it's the pain in the "reallocation" of resources that people don't like. Those cancer researchers would have to "go back to school" of sorts to refocus their specialty and many will fight tooth and nail to avoid it, some would just exit the job market, or they'd take up whatever it was they originally went to school for....before their specialties. It's not just doctors...look at displaced auto workers....those unions fight tooth and nail for them, when what they are fighting for can sink the very companies they work for. It'll take time and resources to put them elsewhere in the job market. In the long run, the economy wouldn't suffer...it's the painful transition that they have to get through. What gets me...if his study was correct, is that 75% of oncologists wouldn't take chemotherapy if they were stricken themselves, yet that's the standard treatment....hmmm..... -

Interesting read Mike. Is it too good to be true? Perhaps. Should it be taken seriously and researched more throughout the world? Absolutely. The question is why hasn't it already since he's been doing this treatment for over 20 years? His website states that until he has hundreds and hundreds of scientifically documented cases, oncologists and the scientific communities around the world will not take him seriously. Countries NEED scientific proof before they will recommend any kind of new treatments.....and that is where the hiccups are. He claims that he is in the process of doing just that. There are case studies with scans of before and after his treatments....and they are quite compelling, on his website. With this one, only time will tell...it's such a simple explanation. Does man have the propensity to overlook the obvious or simplest solutions? You bet! I need more information on this, and why more oncologists have not come forward before getting any hopes up. Let's just hope that it really is that simple and that this awful disease can be fought and beaten. -
Funny how your slow day would be a great day for me....LOL. Great job out there....some real nice bass there.
-

Like you said Mike....everyone is ok...that's the main thing. Still sucks that it happened though! I hope all is worked out and things look a little better in the morning. -
Great report! The smile on your son's face is absolutely priceless! Will look for Patrick's report as well. Again....awesome stuff....thanks for posting it!
-
Ahhh.....the mighty jumla!!! Looks like you guys had a great time out there....lots of fishing and exploring....how cool is that?
-
Awesome report Sean! Good luck back at home....I'm sure you'll have a great time. Report back up on your return!
-
LOL....welcome back Will! Hope the vacation went well and you missed all those rocks up there.
-
Wow... What an adventure....with all the problems with the trailer and then the camera, and you still managed to have a good time out there. Truthfully, I think you guys caught more fish on this trip than I have in total over the last 2 years!! Sounds like everything you threw out there caught fish! It really sucks about the camera....very sorry to hear about that, but if it was me, I wouldn't take it any further.
-
Morning Roy! Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. All is great here
-
When I first opened this thread up and saw a picture of Scott, I almost choked on my coffee. Thought he was your girlfriend....LOL. As far as your g/f's bass....what an awesome catch!! I have no idea how big it is...only that it could eat my personal best bass for breakfast. It's girth is so impressive, it may have done just that...LOL. Congrats all around!
-
The first time I met Scott on the tribs, he was telling me that before he got right into steelheading that he focussed mainly on bass. It looks like he's come full circle, using his experiences on the tribs and tips from more knowledgeable folks like yourself to excel at another species. I have a feeling he's counting his pennies right now trying to figure out how to get himself a bass boat....LOL.
-
Happy Bday to the two of you! Hope you both had a great day.
-
Wow Dan....you don't post many reports, but when you do they are AMAZING! Love the scenery you capture and those trout are just gorgeous!
-
Wow!!! I'd say you had a great day out there! Congrats on all the pretty fish. I feel your pain on losing a big one...but as you said...just makes you want to get out there again even more! Great pics and report Joey....as always!
