  1. See his double post. Pike is indeed open in Division 16 (Georgian Bay) and I'm sure some others...like Temagami where it's open ALL year.
  2. He didn't say he went out on Simcoe for pike...and that sure doesn't look like Simcoe landscape....Hopefully I'm right. Pike is open on GBay! Beat me snag...I knew you knew what you wuz doin.
  3. What are these much better units Tony? I've had my last Humminbird with the stupid "Fish ID" and gone Lowrance so I can actually see some hooks and true detail.
  4. I gotta buy shares in a salvage company...SOON !
  5. One of the worlds greatest wonders Raf Can't help ya Bowshep..
  6. Say WHAT? Too many people confuse and use the wrong terms. There is absolutely NO duty on anything coming out of the USA if it's made in the USA or some other countries. They will collect 6% gst and 8% pst when it crosses the border but lets not confuse this with "duty". "Offshore" fishing gear does have a duty if they catch that it's not made in the USA when clearing it. Pretty sure the duty rate is between 4 and 5 %..forget the decimal.. it's 4.something. Even all that added up is only 18.something percent.
  7. Flappn...do a search on leaky boat...I'm tired of typin the same stuff........ and sending requested PM's that get no thank you's. I'm sorry Bob/MN...but I highly discourage the use of Silcone Rubber on alum. If you need to use sealer, scuff with coarse scotchbrite to get a good cross hatch pattern and use either Sikaflex 1A (available at good constuction suppliers..it's actually a concrete expansion joint sealer) or Sikaflex 291 or 292 Marine Sealant (available at West Marine). Based on chemical properties 1A and 291/292 are the same sealer in different tubes. 1A is about $7 and 292 probably $20 for 12oz caulking cartridges. Or you can also use 3M5200 that I think is about $20 for a squeeze tube at CTC
  8. Sorry Terry...but you would have been ticked if you Mother moved your birthday from say Tuesday and made you wait 'till Friday for your presents. It is what it is..July 1st..and I'll be fishin
  9. They "fixed" the highway along there Rizzo so people can no longer drive off the side of 69, park and camp on Gibson
  10. Princess Auto...the silver Tarp tape. Sticks good and water proof
  11. You know...that tinbanger fella is one heck of a Dad ! Thanks for the open water report Pikeie
  12. Pledge is a mulit purpose tool. Works well on plastic windscreens as well. You can come by and do mine Brian....I'd rather spend the time fishing, or anything for that matter than waxing a boat/car/airplane. Rain...natures car wash.
  13. You are just wasting your time and money with goop or sealer without prepping. Cracks need alum riveted over them after stop drilling the cracks. Loose leaking rivets can easily be reset and if you don't have the tools even a couple 2 lb hammers will do the trick. Buddy holds one tight to the rivet on the inside and you wack the outside. Just be DAMN sure you are on the same rivet.
  14. LOL Paul ! And Phil knows at least one spot... Well maybe two...
  15. You won't be leaving your resorts grounds in Jamaica unless you're on a guided tour to the rum distillery/etc/. Keep that in mind...that the only safe place will be in front of your resort. Not to scare you...just the facts. It was that way in 1989...it sure isn't better now...and I still give my head a shake everytime I think of Leah and I dual riding a scooter from Moe Bay to Negril and back and then Moe Bay to Ochos(sp) Rio and back. One of, it not the most beautiful island in the Gulf/Carribean...but not safe by any stretch of the imagination.
  16. I took a 12' tinny that leaked a good three inches a day to a bone dry boat in approximately an hour.... with my daughter holding the bucking bar on the inside and me running the gun. Small bit of Sikaflex and the 20+ year old Reynolds floats like new (or better). If yours is leaking that much you've got a slew of loose rivets or more likely a crack somewhere. Either case a quick fix... for me anyhow since I gots the tools. BTW what have your been "patching" it with?
  17. If you have any intentions of EVER touching up or repainting that Starcraft DO NOT use anything that has silicon in it.
  18. UPS uses a "crown and anchor wheel", that they stole from some Lions Club, to see what the fee of the day is for brokerage. I had no option on my Pursuit stuff. Shipping due to weight was $140us which I can almost understand...but UPS dinged me for $78.11+ gst for brokerage on top of collecting both taxes for our lovely government. Fedex would have cleared it for free!
  19. Just don't follow me and Whopper! We have no idea where the fishies are....
  20. What I'd pay to have the same day Dustin, fish or no fish. Good to see you out with your father after all those years!
  21. Glad to see you weren't like the snob ahead of you that snuffed her off Rick. That could be me in 2 years, considering I spent an hour looking for something that was in my back pocket yesterday, and I hope you'll do the same for me when the time comes. Mind you with the thread title "fishing" and the police.... I thought you were going to tell us 1/2 way thru that that the "80 year old" you let into your car was a dressed up undercover female officer and you'd been busted for solicitation!
  22. So Joe....you have $50 K that the wife wasn't expecting. That house did have room for a 20' Sport Angler...NO?
  23. Go to www.Google.com Click on Maps. Click on "get Directions". Enter From New York,New York To Paris,France. read line # 24. If you laugh, i guess you won't be going either...?
  24. Geez guys...it's just mold ! Lotsa soap...elbow work and she'll look like new. Power blast that lower unit...a coat of paint... and worst case if she dies on you, those nice old seats pull out into beds. Good luck with it Verno. Put a bit of pride into it and a nice set of rod/rigger mount tracks and you'll be good to go. Hopefully the motor was fogged when put away..but doubt that would even matter considering the years of varnish imbedded in the cylinder walls to protect it.
