  1. DANG...now I'm hungry. When do we leave Dano/Terry/Ron?
  2. Depends on how they are cooked. I baked a laker last winter and it tasted like..... mushy etc. This summer I did them on the BBQ. Flesh side down first and then skin side down. Cook them until the skin gets charred and then it tastes much like BBQ Chicken. Pick something to marinate them when your turn them flesh side up. Mine was a mix of BBQ sauce, soya sauce, margarine and a couple spices. Can't remember...wrote it down at the lake somewhere.
  3. Have a great trip Steve ! Say hello to Rick for me... and probably for Fang as well ! Remember..stay on the plowed paths with your truck...'till they tell you otherwise.
  4. Go to your first post and hit edit... full edit and you can change the subject title!
  5. Internal..external..magnetic..etc I find they all end up set to one spot and then left there, with the only adjustment being the spool clearance/brake being adjusted for lure weight, so I wouldn't limit my reel choices based on the backlash brake system. Terry's niffty electronic wiz bang baitcaster don't cast any further than the others....except when he's talking with his wife about the superb action to justify the $$$'s! My ABU MagII brake has been set to the same spot for 24 years. I tried going one setting lighter this year, thinking I had 23 years of casting experience with it.... and it wasn't pretty!
  6. Would depend on how close the CO's boat was ...the first week of June !
  7. Good stuff Pete. Keep it up so you're allowed to fish in my boat!
  8. Ahhh.. that was just douG and his oldman rekindling the days of the wooden stick behind the shed.... after the principal had called home!
  9. Is there a guard around the propellor Bernie? and does it work better in fluffy snow or hard packed?
  10. Glad I could help start your day Joe! Seriously though... is where I alway sit ...so you can read anything into that you like !
  11. All I can tell you Mike is that you were sitting in the safest spot in the plane! When they break in half on landing..right behind the wing... you can run out thru the new gapping exit !
  12. I did try trolling this year while taxiing to the leeward end on a couple of back lakes. Gonna have to make up another pursuit track and holder for that I guess! Speed's pretty good for muskie. LOL
  13. Pretty much everything North of New Liskeard is open year round. Or at least it was... haven't obtained a new reg book yet... only printed out the areas I fish in.
  14. I 'tink you'll find it's open year round Roger. Like many places should be for bass... that are getting too thick with them.
  15. Depending on the strength of those hand rails... I'd be goin rail clamp Pursuits or Bert's and sure wouldn't be drilling into that glass.
  16. As far as I'm concerned it's more attended than say a tip up 100 feet way.
  17. Okay thanks Raf.... I never use a bank account. I sell enough stuff and pay via the balance I keep there 'till I run out and have to use my credit card. Yah they get to make interest on my money..but using a bank account lets CRA have instant access to how much you're selling a year!
  18. Yah... but you can't hear yours seperating the water/fuel over your engine ! LOL Bernie.. probably for good reason and I'm giving the idea second thoughts. Asking a LOT of that 9.9 kickers fuel pump to suck fuel up out of the hull tank..thru all the connections and then a restricting filter to boot.
  19. Not sure what you have going on Louis...I've used Paypal for the last 6 years. Have shuffled about $3000 in and out the last three weeks selling aircraft parts that are surplus to my needs and using the money to buy...what else... fishing tackle ! Transactions are instant.
  20. April / early May along Superior...better stud them tires! Campgrounds won't be open yet either..but lots of crown land around. Nice creek/river at Rabbit ------ P Park. I wanna say Rabbit Nose...but don't think that's it. I never got the chance to fish it though...
  21. Only one line behind the boat... don't see an issue! Considering the number of people involved they could have had a much better line spread I'd think!
  22. I still use the same Berkley Lightning rod, for pickeral, that I bought in 1983. It is indeed 2 inches shorter than it's supposed to be due to a "car door" back in '84... but it has never just snapped on a hook set. And the trees/rocks I snag don't move !
  23. ...and Shimano dropped their over the counter exchange policy I'm told as well.
