  1. You've handled it well Brian! And for anyone else here that crosses regularily I'd follow Brian's example of tolerance. All it takes is pissing off one customs officer... and him typing in the computer DENIED ! Nobody, other than that specific officer can reverse that decission. He is prosecuter, judge and jury and if you ever want back into the USA again be prepared to spend 10's of thousands of dollars on lawyers. There are examples of many that have had to sell their vacation properties on either side of the border, as they can't get to them anymore!
  2. Probably all you need Doug. Take a 6" williams "whitefish" spoon as well (yellow design on silver). Mine worked really well for early pike a couple weeks back until I flung it into the bay !
  3. NO
  4. I hear the duck tape factory is on overtime for this construction feat !
  5. Great stuff Mike... ready to go. Now for next time.. the tapping of the screws is only when they're coming out if they are so tight you can't get them to loosen. Stop tapping as soon as they turn! No need for tapping going back in.. just snug them good by turning the screw driver, otherwise you'll end up stripping those delicate aluminum threads.
  6. Nah... Leah got "bedbugs" stuck in my brain... so I had to look (unfortunately!)
  7. Onward and upward Brian !!!! (just don't call me when it's time to change the tires!)
  8. Many years of great memories starting with that rig!!! Good to see your step father's rod in a holder, what a great way to launch the new ship !
  9. What do you mean there's no UPS in North Bay... One of their x-drivers lives in Temagami. If it comes across the border UPS.. they'll add brokerage to it, pay the taxes on your behalf and expect to collect them at your door unless it was shipped via their premium service that includes brokerage to get it quickly to your door. Then they mail you a tax collection notice afterwards. Fedex does that as well.... unless you get lucky and they consider it of so low a value it's not worth processing.
  10. UPS... you're a real glutten for punishment !
  11. .. don't worry, they'll get the taxes and another $5 for handling out of you, when you have to go to the post office to pick up the parcel!
  12. Probably close... and why I love aluminum. Composites don't fair so well with megavolts going thru them!
  13. It's been way tooooo long since the 4 Amigos got together to fish. Dano has been laid up with a bad leg and an antibiotic resistant bug and came near death too many times in the last year because of it. I've been busy being "dad" to a daughter with bone cancer since October '10 and we all just need some good laughs. Lloyd had a last minute cancellation and Terry is always game. The whole deal worked out perfect with Jennifer's next chemo to start Monday 8am on the 9th. Leah threw me to the curb going thru hwy 400/9 on Saturday May 7th at noon and continued on to Sarnia to visit her cousins. Fern did the same to Dano shortly there after. Terry picked Dano and I up at 400/9 and the three of us headed for Picton to meet up with Lloyd for 3:30pm. First stop was the wonderful motel Lloyd got us in Belleville. We've gotta really thank him for all the effort and a full day on the phone trying to find us a spot on opening weekend. Once to the boat we told Danb to get the hell out of our boat... and here he is pouting about that ! Dano and Terry talking to Vinnimon on the dock. So we hit the water about 4:30 and wouldn't you know it.. guys give me first rod and what is it. Terry is off the hook as our Sheepie man... Then Dano... and then Terry.. and myself again that we didn't get a picture of. 3 pickeral'eye before calling it a night. The love'm and leave'm fish !! LMAO !! Out for supper to Gus's and then Lloyd hit the boat for the night and we hit the motel. Wish I had video going.. .a 200 car train crossing the road at 11pm.... horn honking for minutes on end... A Red Fox walking in front of us while we sat in a couple of lawn chairs taking in the night and starring across at the cemetary!! .. lol After it was done trashing the motel garbage can it walked right back in front of us again... we could have pet'd it on the way by !! Up for 5 am.. boat for 6 and another stellar day. The original "bubble boy" ! Nice eater and the rest of the day.. Remember.. you need a nice thin, flexible knife to fillet fish ! Thanks for the weekend out lads !!! Really needed it. Also much thanks to Terry for doing the driving and going out of his way to drop me down to Jennifer's apartment. Black Creek drive was no fun stuck beside that livestock truck taking cows to the slaughter house.. that's for sure! Great to see and fish with the three of you again... lets not make it another year and a half before we do it again! I have a couple videos of the 45 second fillet job Lloyd does.. I'll try to get those up later today (seeing it's after midnight)
  14. Depends on whether you're giving or getting????
  15. I don't know Paul.. maybe he's just a poser considering he says . Maybe "he's" just pretending to be a man !!
  16. Did I tell ya Roy.. we had some LAUGHS!!
  17. Jesus Mike... don't make me go back to walking the cricks. Haven't done that in 25 years.. but you keep posting these and I'm out the door!
  18. And I thought I was bad for leaving them on lake bottoms!
  19. Thanks Dutch.. still undecided what to do with my new '11 F150. Gotta get a cover on it soon but can't decide about the liner. Waiting for nice warm weather as I've seen a winter liner installation or ten that suck.
  20. Nice day out fella.
  21. You can let it drain all week if you want Mike.
  22. I'm sorry.. but Ottawa has the same rules. Fishing licences in Ontario have been around for a VERY long time now. Alchohol in public.. maybe it's just a "valley" thing to think that's okay.. it's not legal anywhere in Ontario. (BTW.. I grew up in Sin City.. if you don't know where that is you're not really from Ottawa!) Oh.. I almost forgot.. airplanes on Constance Lake.. legal and a federal right to everyone in Canada. The Province/Townships/Cities/Towns have no constitutional capacity to access any planning power over aviation. I can even say I've enjoyed that aerodrome!
  23. Looks great.. but it also looks like they got your back window! Hope that's just todays rain...
  24. $6.25?? That's only $3.13 per line !
  25. Mike.. put container under skeg.. pull bottom screw first! Remove top screw and let drain. If it's milky you have a sealing washer or a prop seal issue. Run your fingers thru the oil.. make sure there's no metal in it. Fill thru bottom hole... fill until it's coming out the top hole well and it's clean new oil. Put top screw in with new washer.. remove bottle and put bottom screw back in with new washer. You don't have to be real quick.. but don't be a snail!
