  1. Pretty venomous reply Charlie. You perhaps should have thought things through a bit before you hit the post button. I'm not really familiar with either LOTW or Lac Seul which is why I didn't respond. My guess is most members that are active on this board aren't either beyond a very select few. Shoot Ben Beattie a pm and maybe he'll help you out. Cheers
  2. There is zero chance Gardiner will be traded unless it's for another promising young player. Nonis said as much last week. Vancouver needs a center anyway, not a defenseman. After getting rid of Lombardi and Connely there's no way the Leafs are going to gut themselves at center by trading Bozak or Kadri. I like Luongo and think he'd help the team, but only at the right price and that's not likely happening.
  3. Well Cabelas finally did away with velcro zipper flap on the brand new Guidewear. Pretty sweet looking suit! http://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabelas-GORE-TEX-Bass-Angler-Guidewear-Jacket-Regular/1547994.uts?WTz_l=SBC%253BMMcat104797080%253Bcat104522580%253BMCcat104091480 http://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabelas-GORE-TEX-Bass-Angler-Guidewear-Bibs-Regular/1573172.uts?Ntk=AllProducts&searchPath=%2Fcatalog%2Fsearch.cmd%3Fform_state%3DsearchForm%26N%3D0%26fsch%3Dtrue%26Ntk%3DAllProducts%26Ntt%3Dbass%2Bangler%2Bguidewear%2Bbibs%26WTz_l%3DHeader%253BSearch-All%2BProducts%26x%3D30%26y%3D9&Ntt=bass+angler+guidewear+bibs&WTz_l=Header%3BSearch-All+Products
  4. I love the Ballistic. Compared to the CI4 I like it a lot more. Feels more solid and has a way better drag.
  5. Hey Kris you'd honestly be shocked at how easy it is to build one yourself, especially one as basic as yours. I'm certainly no expert. The only reason I'm commenting on this is because I'm currently building one myself and am really pleased with how it's turning out. And I'm not really computer savvy either. In fact I type with one finger. I'm using Sandvox, it's a Mac based program, but I'm pretty positive there's similar PC based programs out there. .
  6. HA! Good stuff. I was half expecting the fish to squirm out of her hands and back down the hole after she dropped it the first time.
  7. Well you mentioned Caledonia in your original post. Based on your species of choice, once again you may want to check the reg's.
  8. Depending on your species of choice you may want to check the reg's.
  9. My goal this year is to simply have fun fishing with family and friends. In the process perhaps experience some different country and some new and exciting waters.
  10. That would be Herbert's in Killarney. When I used to camp just west of the Bad River delta we'd take a long boat ride over to Killarney at least once for fish and chips. It's usually fresh caught whitefish, not perch though. Regardless that place is an institution and was easily the best fish and chips I've ever had as well.
  11. It was the muggings you told me about last year that had me worried. This just clinches it.
  12. That's horrible, you guys really need to move.
  13. He's in palliative care at Sunnybrook, not in great shape. Still...An attractive nurse came into the room and insisted it was time to get cleaned up in the bathroom. And the old bugger smiled and winked at me when she turned her back. I have never known another human being who LOVED life like he did, and he could always make me laugh even now.
  14. Wow thanks guys. I have to admit you're embarassing me a little bit though. I had a bittersweet visit with my uncle today and he had a chance to see it which was nice. The timing of this thing being published couldn't have been better.
  15. The Oceantek boots looks good, and the Bulkley jacket with primaloft insulation looks interesting. But what happened to the ProDry jacket and bibs? The new Contender jacket and bibs look hideous.
  16. To answer your question, yes obviously a thicker line will reduce bedding issues. However bedding has never been an issue for me. If it does happen it's usually after fighting a fish and one long cast and drift afterwards eliminates the issue. The thicker line won't cast as well and beyond the fact that it floats that's the biggest advantage of using it. I started with 12 then switched to 10 and liked it better. Fishing with Bill last month he was running 6lb Nanofil on his rod and it cast and handled like a dream. I'll probably be trying 6 myself next spring. Like most superlines the break strength is way underrated. 6lb Nano is waaay stronger.
  17. That is truly awesome! Whatever you did to merit this opportunity it must have been something special, good on you. Have fun, it should be an amazing experience.
  18. Considering recent history on Simcoe I personally find it encouraging that a cop was being proactive. Guaranteed someone will need to be rescued or worse over the next 3 days.
  19. I don't know if it's the all black snowsuit, but you're looking svelte buddy! Nice pike.
  20. Great report, thanks for posting! If I'm not mistaken Lobo was originally just a pike lake and Hawk Air stocked it with walleye. It's nice to see the walleye population took hold. Glad you had a good trip, but I'm frankly not a big fan of Hawk Air.
  21. Thanks for the kind words once again everyone! I've been published before actually, but it's been many years since the last one. Much to the consternation of everyone close to me.
