  1. Nice lookin' fish! Sounds like you've got a small piece of paradise up there.
  2. Great stuff Tyler, some really nice fish there!
  3. Can both teams lose? Or maybe spontaneously come down with a really vicious two week stomach flu? Otherwise no enthusiasm here.
  4. Yes it would be illegal. I unwittingly posted a beautiful mount of two brookies for sale in the OFC classifieds recently. I had no idea it was illegal. Was informed pretty quickly though.
  5. I'm normally a big fan of Cherry's but that was way over the top. I find it despicable that he'd use his position to publicly demean Burke because of whatever bizarre misguided vendetta he's harbouring against him. His rant about Ontario players is ridiculous anyway. Burkes drafted a bunch of kids from ON. In all the years I've been watching Cherry spout off on air I've never been more disgusted with him.
  6. Nice meeting you the other day Peter. Can't help you with Lakair, but if you're in the Larder Lake area of ON and I'm at the camp you've got an open spot in my boat.
  7. Wouldn't fish it. I'd find a lake a little less populated and leave that one for the pros.
  8. I might as well just throw this out there. Very shortly I'll have two custom built 7' Sage spinning rods for sale in the OFC classifieds, both rods are identical and are rated 6-12lb. Spiel is currently building them for me and they're absolutely gorgeous rods. Definitely close to the price you mentioned. I'll lay money none of you guys have felt a spinning rod this nice.
  9. Amazing fish Wayne, wow! What'd you use to catch the beast?
  10. Maybe, just maybe sooner than you think!
  11. Elementary my friend. Fishing while you're having sex. I don't know if this could be pulled off...but fishing, while you're simultaneously having sex, watching a hockey game, drinking a beer and eating a cheese burger would be the apex. Thanks for the reminder. I find there's large gaps in my memory as I grow older.
  12. You might be surprised, most outfitters are willing to deal a bit with the way the economy's going. Here's two more similar outpost camps all of them seem to be in the same price range for a week. Wenebegon Lake: http://www.fivemilelake.com/chapleau-outpost-camps.htm Embarass Lake: http://www.kanipahow.com/wordpress/category/outpost-camp/embarass-lake/ All 3 I posted would be good, but if I had to pick one it'd be Wenebegon.
  13. The attributes an angler needs above all others, if he is to be consistently successful, are skill, and know-how, and it is these that every angler thinks he possesses from the day he commences to fish. No amount of logic will ever convince him that he is not a master angler, even though he returns from the stream for days on end without having caught, or even seen, a decent fish. He has all the excuses of a thousand generations of other non-anglers to fall back on. The weather was too hot, or too cold, the stream too high, or low. The wind was from the wrong direction. The barometric pressure was at fault, or the water wasn't warm enough or cold enough. He forgot his solunar tables. The flies he bought at Bass Pro were lousy; next time he'll get his flies from Wilson's. A man may admit he's a poor talker, that his social graces are few or absent, that he cannot dance as well as an uncoordinated giraffe. He will cheerfully agree that, as an athlete, his best event is the standing broad grin. Most will admit to being poor poker players and that checkers and chess baffle them. But NO man will admit to being a lousy lover or a poor fisherman. Why is this? Because man, in order to survive, has to be incurably optimistic in these two areas. It's like the story told in the army in World War 2. If an officer lined up 10 men, went the tale, and told them that he had to send them on a dangerous mission in which nine of the ten would be killed, each man would look at the others and say to themselves, "Well I'm sure gonna miss those guys." The only anglers who will admit to not being all they should be as fishermen, oddly, are the ones who are actually very good, and who study and work to continually improve as well as broaden their horizons and seek out new experiences. Yea, verily, the fisherman is a strange creature, and not like other men.
  14. Definitely a cutie! Such a peaceful, beautiful video. I have a video of my son being baptized and he's screaming like the priest is dipping his head in boiling acid LOL! I showed him the video the other day and he started crying again, said "why I am I wearing a dress?!!"
  15. Assuming guilt wasn't in question I'd see no problem with it. If it was just a bunch of hearsay I imagine it wouldn't last too long. Anyhow, really dumb thread, can't believe I replied.
  16. Not the upper Grassy, as mentioned there's nothing there. But here's one for you that might fit the bill: http://www.duenorth.net/greenwilderness/nurseylake.html
  17. Alrighty then. I think we can add riveted vs welded to the long list of OFC hot button topics right up there with tiller vs console.
  18. I hear what Shane is saying, it's one of the reasons I bought a Smoker Craft last month. Lots of well respected members here with positive things to say about Crestliner. However when I posed the same question last month I had several members pm me telling me to avoid Crestliner. Sometimes you just have to take all the info you've got and go with your gut.
  19. Well no wonder you're firm on the times. Did you really wait 7 hours in a Tim Hortons parking lot to sell an old outboard?
  20. I almost made a similar comment myself kid, then reconsidered. It looks an awful lot like Bronte. I can totally see how someone could make that assumption. In any case nice job on the fish.
  21. Welcome to the board. Are you involved in fisheries enforcement? Would be great if we had our own in house member to answer these questions.
  22. Fair is fair, as they say stuff happens. Here's my song. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/cIuToLUn3-I" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  23. Well the one I found was on autotrader and wasn't a scam, but I digress. All kinds of annoying Bull on kijiji. Just last week I stumbled on an older but mint shape 2hp motor 20 mins after the ad was posted. Guy was asking $100. Said I would take it. Guy replied back and said great, I'll let you know when I'm home so you can pick it up, not sure of my work schedule yet. Never heard back from him. A couple days later the motor was reposted for $500. One of those cases where it was too good to be true.
