  1. This is the thing Dave is referring to http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/4/Auto/AutoAccessories/Plugin12VoltAccessories/PRD~0374464P/Digipower%252BAudio%252BCassette%252BAdaptor.jsp?locale=en I had one in a car with no aux and it was great, the FM transmitters are good but I've found quality can be a problem (no idea why when the transmitter is next to the radio!!!) the cassette adaptor is hardwired so is more consistent. The FM transmitters do charge the ipod though, so you might want to add one of these and plug the ipod lead into it. http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/4/Auto/AutoAccessories/AutomotiveCellPhoneAccessories/PRD~0374457P/Certified%252B12V%252BUSB%252BBattery%252BCharger%252BAdaptor.jsp?locale=en Cheers
  2. You probably can co-sign, Canadians are buying propety in the states and I doubt they're using cash for it so I wiould think the opposite works. Ultimately the mortgage co. want someone to chase if you miss a payment and having two people to chase increases their chances, if all else fails they'll take the house and mess up two people credit ratings. Now whether you want to get involved is another question, but it sounds like your BIL can't raise the mortgage on his own and there's probably a good reason for that
  3. You need to watch rugby then I'm really enjoying the World Cup but rather underwhelmed with England so far
  4. A level line is one with no taper (see below), any fly reel will hold any kind of taper line, the weight forward ones are easiest to cast though
  5. The match poles like the one in the pic are great pieces of kit and take a lot of skill to use especially if it's windy, they're perfect for dropping a bait under a tree or right next to rushes. I sold a 14.5m one before I left the UK. They're not designed to have the line tied directly to the end (they're different and only used for catching small fish quickly), they use elastic through the top two or three sections which acts as a shock absorber and you use different grades of elastic depending on what you're fishing for etc. Set up correctly you can land a 10lb carp on a 4lb hooklength and size 16 hook although you can't rush it! There's also the jigger poles used for bassing down in the US which are a lump of cane with 20lb line tied to the end which capt bruce refers to.
  6. Its is!! This isn't the game where the ball is thrown (mostly) FWIW 'Soccer' is derived from the full name of the game, Association Football Having watched a lot of NHL games over the last few months, seeing grown men writhing around after being barely tickled by their opponents in the Champs League final was almost embarassing!
  7. Last time I was in Bronte Outdoor, he had redworms I think, that was a few weeks ago though, you mean these right?
  8. I'm English so You're all just jealous!! What's with a Scotsman being called 'Dutchy'? Great ad - must've cost a fortune to make and have it as the only commercial in the break at the end of the Champions League final (which was dull )!!
  9. Shipyard Park itself now has boats moored all along the edge of it. I'm pretty sure that, like the other side of the creek, it's no fishing from May to November. You can fish the harbour further down though.
  10. Thanks guys - seems like its something I need to look into, I'll head out and try some setups in my hands. That sounds good - I'm a bit of a Shimano fan as it is
  11. I do, but nothing big though. Googling around suggests that baitcasting gear gets more range with bigger baits and accuracy is improved with practice.
  12. If the IT department can't fix your computer, you can't possibly work the weekend Edit cos I can't spell
  13. We all love buying new fishing gear and the more I watch WFN, the more I want to try a baitcasting setup. I have used spinning/fixed spool reels for a long time (most of that in the UK where baitcasting reels are the preserve of sea anglers) and can do pretty much everything I need to at the moment. So, what are the advantages of a baitcaster over spinning gear? All my fishing is done from the bank (no friends with a boat ) targetting bass and panfish mostly although I'd like to give piking a go at some point and I have fly gear for chasing trout and the like in rivers. I don't subscribe to the school of buying cheap gear to start out as I believe it's false economy, so I don't want to spend a good chunk of cash to find the experience and results are the same. Any help or experiences would be appreciated, Thanks, Richard
  14. You can copy and paste a Zeitgeist press release. What's your point?
  15. I was expecting see 'Location: Loch Ness' in your profile!
  16. You have a crankbait that's bigger than a whiskey bottle!?!?!?
  17. Many is stretching it a bit, a few like Chris Yates do especially for stalking carp but they mostly use centrepins for trotting for chub and barbel on rivers, the vast majority use big fixed spool/spinning reels for carping. I'm sure smaller carp would be fun on a 'pin at close range but if you get one of the lumps I've seen in some of the marinas round the GTA you'd struggle to get it in quickly with a centrepin and as aplumma says you shouldn't overplay a fish that's going back.
  18. A couple of rubber float stops would probably hold it in place or even a stop knot. You'd be better off using a spinning reel and leaving the bail closed with the drag turned right down. A big carp would be hard work on a centrepin.
  19. LMAO! Shimano make some good stuff and their spares service has always been top notch.
  20. Fellow fluff chucker here - there's a fly fishing club in Hamilton, last meeting of the season is tonight though
  21. Yeah - they're real alright, Google for River Ebro Catfish to see more of the same. Apparently it's like tying your line to the back of someone's car!
  22. Canadian Tire do something similar - comes with a tube to fit down a dipstick tube as well, although I had to put a straightened wire coat hanger in the tube get it to go straight down into the engine, thne withdrew it leaving the tube in place. http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/4/Auto/AutoSafetySecurity/GasCans/PRD~0283009P/Deluxe%252BPump.jsp?locale=en
  23. Charles, If the snowblower turns but won't fire then you either have no fuel or no spark, the only other thing it could be is old fuel - some engines are really funny with old stale gas so try emptying it and putting fresh in. The electric is probably dying quickly because dragging you is making it work harder, if you can walk with it rather than it pulling you, it'll do less work and the batteries will last longer. I'm in Oakville (does that count as west GTA??) if you want a few more ideas.
  24. I use a priest - not a very elaborate one though... Seems to be the easiest, most humane way to me.
  25. I had no idea there was a cap - there's no cap on how much they can make so there should be no cap on what they pay if they screw up. They should have to pay whatever the cost - no argument there at all. My point, however badly put was that the global addiction to oil IS the problem, there is nowhere else to go but deep water (or oil sands or somewhere equally undesirable), it's that or go without. If it was extracted in the safest way possible then the effects of HST on gas prices would pale into insignificance by comparison - the current financially viable methods come with certain risks and we can't have our cake and eat it. These beans you mentioned.........
