After 25 yrs and doing Tours in Iraq/Kuwait, Bosnia, Croatia, Masadonia, I figured with my age and physical detoriation (Bad knees) and financial situation it was time to Retire. Although the tours may of not been Afghanistan, My family worrried as a great part of my job was mine and Unexploded Ordance Disposal. If that was not dangerous enough, the next building to us was rocketed, Our 3 Bisons were targeted for Motars in Croatia as we drove through what was known as Sniper Alley. I also laugh at how stupid I was when I drove through a Serb checkpoint as he was about to check the back of the Vehical. I probably didnt get shot only because I gave him a cigarrette just to amuse him... My point is, The Forces are so Professional that we are the envie to many countrys. We have been tasked by othe countries Nato and UN because we are dependable and will get the job done. I have sat back after breaching an obstacle for the Infantry and was amazed how hard they pushed on. I would take a Canadian Infanteer before any so called American Special forces. And there are No Movies about us. I hate to say this, but from a Soldiers view Afghanistan is the best thing for us. Just like the Falklands did for the Brits (a small war), There was only one thing that will help our Soldiers. Regretably, casualties. We have new clothing, new vehicals, kept our tanks(what Idiot could even think of phasing them out), rewrote our books that are outdated, but most importantly, made people realize we need an Army, Sometimes to Kill. Too often we have been put in a position that we need a Lawyer to figure out our Rules of engagement. (UN and Canadian politics). We should be like a guard dog, go over the line and you bite(shoot) put yourself in a position between Inmates and Natives. Bottom line, I am proud of our Soldiers, despite human rights filtering into the system as if we are unionized citizens, I have every confidence the the next generation will do us proud as they are doing in Afghanistan. I only wished that my comrades were apprecitad and reconized as they deserved. Again casualties make people think. Fisher Girl, Im glad he is back. Now he can mellow out for awhile before he will be called upon to due his duty again, too often. You may find a change in him, but deep inside he is the same person that left. Dont be surprised if he is predudiced, remember he probably has seen things that we could not believe a human being could do to another person. Our soldiers show compassion and if they could will help anybody in need. They are Canadian. Im proud of our forces and would never give the 25yrs I have given. Unfortunately I and so many others sacrificed our familys. I will never get back what I lost seeing my 3 daughters grow up. I think about what I lost all the time. Thanks for the thread

WOW, my daughter called to tell me her 92 Civic just got stolen. In Calgary. I bought her the Car last year while in TO because I got a good price and she works hard as a Student. Its all I could afford for her. I cant even help on her student loan. Hopefully the cops find it in tact. there was hardly any gas, but the problem is that it needed oil because of a leak. There is no way that she will get a car to replace it for the price I paid in TO. Of note, I bought the car through Auto trader and it was advertised as Private, I went to buddies house and found out he was an AFghan, who was selling it after his buddie a Car Dealer (you know, a small lot with a trailer had given it to him) Shady. Well I get a call from a Pvt investigater that questions me about the Car. Seems the Afghan Car dealer had lost his licence by marking down the odometer but is still in Buisness through his son. Beware of so called PVT deals. Oh yea, when I confronted the the seller, I was not his FRIEND LOL and he forgot how to speak english. Funny thing, I bought my Civic through another PVT advertisement, Ironically he was an AFghan and exported Cars to the Emerites. Supposedly this was his own car. So far that car has been ok. I wonder how many are out there.

Did you guys enjoy the Leafs MTL Game. No Hitting, guys like Pletanic, Marcov,Sun Beam (Yea I cant spell because the game was a European Game) were flying untouched. Where is the NA hitting. Nil Nil Nil. It was boring, just like the ALLstar game. I tryed to watch a game where both teams have no hope for the cup. NO Grit. Bettman has ruined the game that was once ours. Maybe harold and Cherry had a point way back. The Womans game is more exiting

Break it with your elbow or something. Its the only way. Forget the Windshield. Like I said, easier said then done. But it is possible. As one post mentioned, god help if there are kids strapped in. You got to save yourself first, to save others.

I learned from a A Rotary Underwater Egress. ie simulated helicopter crash. It sinks then flips upside down. This course is for Military flight crews as well as Off shore Oil crews. A Canadian invention in Halifax that I have been told that who ever had the course and were alive in a crash that it has been over 90% effective. Here's what I remember. 1. Landmark your escape. Example beak or open window and leave your hand or arm there as or after you flip or fill with water. 2. Take a breath. 3. Undo your seatbelt with the other hand and pull or push yourself out the exit. Easier said then done. But heres the facts. It will be dark, youll be disorientated, and possibly upside down. The seatbelt will hold you in place while you open or break the window. It will give you enough time to think, once you panic its all luck. I did this about a dozen times. I would of drowned twice if not for the safety divers. 1st time I landmarked but tryed geting out beside the window- I panicked. 2nd time I did it without a seatbelt and never land marked. consequently I had no Idea upside down wher the exits were. An unbelievable course where I learned to overcome fear. Baby Herc has the best response.

From A Guy out west" I agree

Heres the scoop Kenny. I love fishing. I have enough rods and reels to outfit an Army. My wife calls me a collecter because my favorite (most expensive)(and spooled) reels never seen action. I guess Im addicted. But heres the scoop I caught my biggest laker by hand line with a jig under the ice. The biggest Musky 24 lbs with an older Bait caster ambassador reel using a live perch. And a 6 lb Pickeral using a live minnow, and the reel which is a newer Mitchell 300 reel that Wallmarts he is trying to sell for $24

So, your driving or being driven and you just crashed, and your sinking, or about to sink under water. What steps do you take. Point form pls? OH just one thing. Your seatbelt is ON. Otherwise, YOUR HISTORY!

I couldnt help go through these threads. I just want to say is, speak your mind, which I guess you have done. If you offend anybody who cares. Ive learned through my own experiences you cant make everybody happy. Its impossible unless your phoney. As far as your APOLOGY, I may pay more attention to your threads because I never did before. Hope that your personal stuff works out. Because it will. Of note. Ive been banned a few times, Im still here maybe, because, I might have some positive comments, or something that may be interesting. All I know is that the OFC Police are pretty quick here. Maybe tooo quick

Yea I agree with fish finder. Buy 2 rods at a cheaper price. For example Ugly stick at Walmarts $39, most durable and versitile rod for the Bush and Trolling etc. get a cheap more sensitive rod as a second choice. Check out Berkley or ABU. My favorite rod is an $18 Eagle Claw. I have tested many of a rod tip at a store and I have broken a few and trust me PRICE HAS NO BEARING ON QUALITY AND DURABILITY. I have seen some expensive cheaply made rods that have broken just by casting. Personally I think shimano sucks for rods. But awesome reels though expensive.

People. READ CAA Autopinion or Consumers Reports. The only people happy with NA are mechanics, emploees, and of course the parts industry, not to mention the auto wreckers.

I might be purchasing a small camper say 12ft. My questions are. For a battery power whats better, deep cycle? what can it power and for how long. Im thinking maybe lights in the trailer and a radio/CD player and fridge???????. Say I loose power is ther a way I can charge the battery with solar power( I always wondered about those affordable Canadian Tire panels) or is there another means. Im thinking that the trailer can use AC or DC. Basically on a weeknd with only battery Power how can I make it work? Thanks

Crap, Who can forget the Pinto, Maverick, Gremlin, Pacer, Chevette days. America was crying back then to Buy american or lose your jobs. Good thing for consumer groups. Seems we're crying again. Its simple, produce acceptable vehicals, get out of the unions (Workers are paid more than a Loyal Soldier is). And improve on customer relations. Good thing for those import taxes, otherwise we wouldnt be seeing junk thats called Ford, Chevy. Ive failed to keep my wife away from the dollar stores and filling Chinese pockets. Geez my heart really bleeds for the American Auto Industry.

83.9 in North Battleford Sk. This price has not moved since Sep even though the price of a barrel has been bouncing. Well at least I dont have to deal with the IDIOTIC price jumping and bouncing. There is absolutly no reason for the incredible price differnces in Ont. Wow, seen up to 10cents difference between Wasaga Beach and Collingwood
