  1. I think Montreal is in the same Boat. Poor management. Its all been politics since Sammy Pollock left. It all started with the Chelios for Savard trade. Mtl just cant find that french Canadian superstar. So now they opt to go overseas. Lets see who have they given away. Rivet, Kilger, Tucker, Stevenson, Corson, Odelin, Schnider, Recci, Brashere, Asham, Langway, Gilmore, and so on. They should send all their players with a K, V, O, and I back on the boat they came from and start scouting the Western Hocky league, or forget politics and start trading for English Canadian Players. Players with grit. My observation
  2. There is a huge problem and its called scamming... Heres my experience, There are three Gas Stations in Angus 1,2, and 3 on the opposite side of the road as you enter the base. Last year around noonish I heard on the Radio that gas had risen to 1.25 while driving to work Angus was at 95.9. So I Took off in line for gas at now 99.9. There was 2 of 3 Stations still pumping with huge line ups. Well the owner/operator decided to up the gas to 118 after me. When I asked him why he jacked the price when he never refueled his reply was that he got a phone call from the District manager to raise the price. Here is the honest truth here. I never seen him on the phone, actually he was pumping like there was no tomorrow. Now heres the Kicker, It was only a rumour that started on the radio, as a matter of fact TO never even raised it a cent. Between the Oil Companys, Owners and Operators they are scamming. What gets me, our yellow skinned Politicians would rather make a big thing at slapping around a bunch of Afghan Killers, Global Warming, Flag waving, than having the KaHONYS to control price gauging. Talk here that Saskatchewan is starting to raise prices. WHAT THE HECK FOR. A fire in TO. Were at 93 as it is
  3. Cenntenial High School. Played hockey against the boys in East Greenfield and Brooklyn as well as Baseball. If you got AHOOOONEEEEEEES PM me
  4. Thanks Boys. Ill make sure the vent is open. Hey Mike dont be shy, Im from St Hubert too. Lafleche as a matter of fact. PM me. Cenn High
  5. Hey Mike, PM me , Im from St Hubert too
  6. Hey. We need a Cops perspective. Theyve seen it all.
  7. Not to do with Ketchup chips but it was fun. Us Canadians were on ex with the yanks in California and were told about the Black Widow. So we took precautions. bUTTT. When the Yanks went to Canada, Petawawa, IN THE WINTER. Poor Alabama Boy" We told them about our snow snakes. Seems we had a hard time getting them out of the tents.
  8. I will have the throttle open and then without warning it cuts out. No Lagging
  9. Ball is inflated
  10. Would that cut the engine
  11. I bought a Honda outboard 2 yrs ago when I moved to Wasaga beach. Its an older (Blue) 4 stroke 15 HP push button elec start or pull 15 HP. It looked mint and very clean possibly original grease inside the cover. The only maint I done was changed oil. Engine and bottom. Heres the problem. Last year at times, at full throttle it would just cut out. ( not often but enough not to trust it) I would then open or close the air vent on the gas tank and then no problems. Dont know if that really has any bearing but that was my first trouble shoot. Questions now. What could be the problem, The sparkplug seems OK, and, should the gas tank vent be open or closed when running. Thanks
  12. What! We have an ice breaker? seems we dont need Ships, Soldiers, Sailors, Airman, Equipment, and money for defense. Lets face it we can always rely on the American to aid us. Theyre our friends. The arts is where I want my taxes to go to. Just Kidding. Hopefully we can help as we will always do.
  13. Just watched the Islanders and Canadians on RDS in French. Boring, Boring, Boring and Pitiful. Womans oops I mean European hockey at its best. I hope you Bettman lovers are happy. Chris Simone and Asham actually trying to play hockey. Then again it was the Typical Mtl Canadians. Who would confront them anyhow. I have nothing against Sourey or Komeserik, but cant, somebody, standup in front of the Canadians net. Im really disapointed to what happened to OUR Game. Hopefully Sabres and Toronto is better. Its really hard trying to stay a Habs fan. If I was Sourey, I would sign with Edmonton or Calgary next year. It would be a shame if he didnt get a ring. But Staying with the Canadians is just not a happening team. For starters Koivu is not Cup contention Captain material.
  14. My Gosh incredible
  15. You Know, I went to Toronto past weeknd to my fathers funeral and gas went up 7-10 cents. If you ask me, ITS GAS GOUGING TIME AGAIN. In the mean time its still 93.9 in North Battleford SK. Hasnt changed since SEP. I really like to squeeze somebodys neck. And that fella that decided to up the price of Diesal. Maybe if it was broadcasted to everyone who is price hiking, just maybe prices might steady. Yea get ready for Summer.
  16. Hummm Not saying nothing except, Who said yes, why Winnipeg. At Least Toronto and Vancouver, might appreciate what my money is spending on. Id rather have it spent on OUR soldiers overseas
  17. In Sask the oil Industry starts about a 20 min drive west of North Battleford. There was talk that they would also produce closer to the city making North Battleford an oil town. It is Rumour but has not happened yet. I heard everything from, there is not enough labourers to fill in the job, People are lazy in this city, ie Welding shops etc will not open 24hrs to support the industry and so on. Even that they are cutting production. All I know, because of a rumour, real estate fees are jumping, Albertans are buying land that is still cheap and companys are going outside the country to get employees. Thats a fact yea and its cold here, but you get used to it
  18. Here is the problem here out West. The Liberals and Dion are making this a top election issue, and are picking on the oil industry. Who has the least to worry because most of their votes are from Ontario and east. The West Particularly Alberta and Saskatchewan are worried that this will cause an economic catastraphy. They dont want the present or future government doing something that is unaqchievable or economically expensive. Example, The tar sands are preparing to triple production 2015. Why, the USA wants to be less dependant on OPEC and with good reason. This would go against a Kyota type policy. The West are saying look in your back yard before ours. ie the pollution from the Steel, Trucking, road vehicals due to population density and so on. I would think that Hamilton would suffer as there is a high volume of steel pipe being used out here. What I am saying is there is alot at stake with all this talk. Dont get caught up with this. All I know, is gas is low, I have a job and a small boat, and paying a low interest rate on my morgage. Life is good. However I do believe that we contribute less than a percent on global warming. The USA and China should lead by example, because it will be very expensive and all for nothing if they dont do anything signifcant. Too bad we are dependant on Wood, Steel, Fuel. You would think with all our smarts, we still depend on the combustible engine.
  19. Thanks for defending my point as to what I was trying to say just before I left for work this morning. There is a time difference here. Often I have been misread, sometimes having to justify my intentions. Touchy, feely, mouthy generation, I guess? Anyways, I want to stress IF YOU WANT TO MOVE, I may be able to help you. ( why I stated, if there are any questions PM me) Dont get me wrong, I love Ontario and that is why I asked to move back to Ontario from Alberta to where I was last posted for 3 years during my last 4 yrs in the Military. My dream was to Semi-retire and settle down around the Ottawa Valley particularily Petawawa, Algonquin Park Area. It is my Lifetime time best fishing and camping area, and, with all my numerous moves which I still consider home although I grew up in Montreal. Financially I took a chance and moved. Yea I miss Bass and brookie fishing, But I missed the big Pike and Walleye fishing while in Wasaga Beach. I was paying for everything. Boat launches, camping, because, I couldnt find a piece of shoreline that nobody owned. I had to move, My wife could only get part time work, but worked overtime. What is that! They dont want to pay benefits. (Just a point for Greencoachdog and Pinch. You guys, are way too sensitive, RELAX! My Wife and her immediate family were born in Bagdad. I never knew where that was when I met them at 17yrs old. Immigrated to Canada when she was 12. Her Dad was sponsered by the church and a buisness in New Brunswick who immediately employed him. No Govern Handouts and had to wait 5 yrs for the oath.(HE DID THAT ALONE, without family or friends AND I HIGHLY RESPECT THAT) My two teenage daughters could not get nothing in Wasaga without experience. Both found employment within their first 3 resumes here, and they never worked before. 17 and 18yrs old. Like some of the guys that replyed, there are opportunities in Alberta and especially the little secret I found out when I was posted in Wainwright AB. Its called Saskatchewan. Oil does not STOP at the AB border. The economy is crazy here. Again, any questions if you may be getting layed off ie, the auto industry, or are thinking about moving out West. I will give you the HONEST ANSWERS and I may help. All Military and former Military know that 99% of us are truthful. Right or Wrong, Kick in a fisherman.
  20. Snag I hope you find the right answer to this and tell us. Ive always had a problem with such issues and always backed out as I am not sure who is right. But I really do believe while hiking, camping, fishing, Ive been lied to on what rights I don't have. I love exploring and Ive always wondered about those Pvt property signs in the middle of no where but close to a cabin or honey hole. Good thread
  21. Here is my take on Global warming, Wife says that she seen on TV a program that says if Canada stopped all emissions that contributes to Global Warming, it would not be significent enough, to have any impact, However there would be a huge difference if China and the States took Steps. Heres how I look at it, are you willing to take the bus, instead of your car, drop from a SUV to a electric car, Pull off all the trucks off the Road and go to an alternate system of commercial transport, Pay a higher price for a furnace, Refrigerater, Commercial goods would be higher because we would have to pay indirectly to companys that are ordered to cut emmissions, go electic or at least 4 stroke, and save on gas by going to a smaller outboard, inboard say 9 hp instead of 30, just so we can lead by example. HOW MANY OF YOU ARE WILLING TO DO THAT. I thought so. My vote will have nothing to do with this global warming. Just my take, now the idiots in Ottawa has Alberta up in arms about their oil production. Theyre saying better look in your own back yard before someone elses. I think they have a point
  22. As some of you might be aware, I made the biggest lifestyle change of my life in August. I retired from the forces and decided to move to Saskatchewan. Reason, Economy and a future, of course there had to be good fishing. I bought a house for 104,000 after selling mine in Wasaga Beach for 194,000. I still owe the bank but went from a 15yr Morgage to 3yr only to invest instead of paying outright. I took a course as a truckdriver in Ontario and secured a job in the Oil patch $18 hr and after 40hrs $27hr. After 6 months decided to work closer to home but work a normal 4ohr week vice 75hr week. There is a huge problem here for employment. Both Alberta and Saskatchewan cannot find skilled and unskilled laborers. Sask govn are pleading to young people to stay in Sask instead of Alberta, Higher income. Albertans are buying property in Sask because of the low cost of living and cheap housing. Could be the cheapest in Canada with high employment. Companys both small and big are going outside of canada to sponser and higher foreigners. The job I work, waste management, 2 brothers own a small buisness just sponsered a Ukranian family to Sask because he apparently was a farmer and worked on farm equipment. They need a mechanic. the owners arent even sure if they speak English but are willing to pay for their english Classes. Talk of the City here, North Battleford, is that a lot of companys are doing the same thing. Do you believe, that there is nearly a whole town from the former Yugoslavia that immigrated here. All have jobs. There is a piece of heaven 3 hrs North where I might buy a 2 Bdr house for 20,000 and use it as a summer getaway. In a town where the pulp mill just closed down, however, real estate are desperate, advertising, the town to be a good recreation getaway. There is a boat launch (free) in town that is on a lake with excellent fishing. Many lakes are around. What I am saying is, THERE an opportunity out here if you are willing to move. Why am I saying this. I would rather see other Canadians move here, than go outside of the country. Any questions pm me
  23. Thanks for the input guys, Yea you too Rich. Im confident that most people would go for the Shimano Reel and Ugly stick. I guess the Mitchell 300x would be another alternative. What I like about the Shimanoo is they always had no springs on their finger flip bails. A simple but effecient invention. No problems finding spare spools either. I find however on my 300x the handle screw loosens too easily and the spool for the drag seems to rotate off centre or crooked. Yea ive been happy with the 2 ugly sticks that ive used for many seasons
  24. Congrads, not that I never gave a poop. show us a recent Pic
  25. ALL RIGHTY, Seems I got shot down here, Like a deer in the Head Lights. Ive only seen 1 consumer reports on reliability on fishing reels and Rods. I Spoke to the Reel DR in Edmonton and his words were. Numbers of Ball bearings mean nothing. ie He likes a reel with 3 than 8. SO FOLKS, some of us dont want to spent to much, Lets say under $75 ............The UP AND BUDDING FISHERMAN SHOULD GET?
