No, but a couple of weeks ago a father had his child dragged and pulled from the wharf by a seal. That would be scary, and takes the cake.

I'm not saying any Particular Brand. But a GPS, that has a MARK, GOTO, NAV, buttons on the GPS will save you allot of time and frustration. My Etrex does not have these buttons so consequently I have to flip through pages, sometimes half a dozen just to find my grid or mark a land point. However My Magellan 315, its old, if I push the Mark button I have my Landmark recorded automatically in numerical order. If I press my Nav Button, my first page will show what Ive put in as a default. For example A Grid, Your Speed, Distance to, or Bearing any thing you want.

Just for a second I thought you had an electric Guitar between your feet. Just your finder and some sort of blue thing. Naw I'm not drinking. PS, As Cram says, try not to do too much. You can always put your motor in Neutral if your losing control till you sort your self out. AND EXPERIENCE like everything else.

War Resisters? ou mean Deserters, too bad they cant conentrate on passing bills to inflate Canada instead of Deflate Canada for Bloody votes. Imagine, an open door while our Soldiers are fighting and dieing. Quote Sep 17, 2009 05:39 PM THE CANADIAN PRESS OTTAWA – A Liberal MP has introduced a private member's bill aimed at letting American "war resisters" stay in Canada. Gerard Kennedy's bill would allow foreign military deserters – or those who refuse mandatory military service – to stay in Canada if their action is based on "sincere moral, political or religious objection." MPs have already voted twice to support war resisters, but that was through motions that are not binding on the government. Kennedy's bill would be binding because it would amend the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Private members' bills rarely become law, but passage is more likely in the current minority government situation. Most war resisters in Canada are U.S. military personnel who have refused to participate in the Iraq War on the grounds that it's illegal and immoral. At least two have already been deported to the U.S.

WOW, What a Beautiful Friday and Saturday. RECORD BREAKING Temperatures. In the 30s. Friday I decided to head out to Pancake lake as it would be the easiest to and out as I didnt have too much day light. I also wanted to see if I could find my lost Rod and reel. No Luck for that. What a beautiful peaceful night. Oh yea, and the fishing. I never even got a nibble. But what the heck. I'm alone and away from work. Its so Quiet, except for nature. I can hear fish jumping inside the reeds. It seems to really get dark fast once the sun is behind the trees No rods missing on this trip. I broke them down before going through the reeds This time I put yellow reflective tape on the top of my Cart and faced it so I can see it in the dark. You can see it in the center of the picture The next day I decided to go to Hackett lake with my big boat, the 15 Honda. It was windy and I needed to get the gas out of the outboard before storing it. Probably my last time with this boat for the season. Notice the Ontario invasive species sticker. Yea bought the boat and motor when I lived in Wasaga beach a couple of years ago. Pike was biting on the trolling. I stopped for some still fishing and managed a few small pike and a small walleye that I ate for a late supper. It was slow. I got a feeling with all the leaves on the ground, the open season will be numbered.

Well I made my decision. I decided to take the 1.5 hr drive to Saskatoon and see what they have to offer at the stores in the Big City. North Battleford only has the Canadian Tire ( Worst one Ive ever seen anywhere) The Coop and Walmarts ( All reels are displayed packaged or combos) that sell fishing gear. My choice would be the same model Mitchell 308X , the display model and last one at the Coop for 49.99 and the Rod being an ultra lite 7ft Daiwa Tactix that I fell in love with for 59.99. My first stop and would be my last stop on the way out was Wholesale Outdoors. The Daiwa Tactix Rod was selling for 49.99 and I picked up a 7 ft Lite Cherrywood for 24.99 went and seen the salesman and came up with two Reels in my price range. Mitchell 308XE 51.99 and a Pflueger Trion for 49.99. The big difference is the Trion held less line. When I did my rod test in front of the clerk and broke the tip of Cherrywood, and apologized it was the Tactix that sold be. Very durable, By the way, I used to be a fan of the Cherrywood as I have one, I will never buy another. Here's my pick A little smaller than the Mitchell, smooth as silk, I never owned one, and an alum spare spool. I also forgot. Check this out. A rod and reel bag which will hold multi combos, Tackle pockets on Both sides, and Back Packing straps. I ll put a couple of Dowels inside to protect the rods and now I have a dust proof bag. Perfect for canoeing Thanks for the input. It was a hard decision between the two reels.

OTTAWA FINDS CURE FOR SWINE FLU http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Politics/2009/...0940116-cp.html Incompetents working for the government

I'm looking at buying a combo for around a 100 dollars. The Rod will hopefully be a Bass Pro Micro Lite Graphite at 39.95 not sure if that was Canadian or American. The reel will depend where I get it from. It ll replace my Mitchell 308 so it ll be a light to ultralight reel. I'm looking at not paying over 100 dollars on line and the same store. Where is my best bet. Also maybe someone has another combo that I could look into. The rod has to be 6'6 at least and light to ultralight, The reel the same with some capacity for also ultra light trolling. I have to consider exchange, postal, and duty if applicable Thanks

And there I was in the middle of the Desert in Iraq and I was told to take this Huge Pill every Tuesday in case of Malaria. Never did see a Mosquito, I took it once. When we got back six months later, it was only then that they told us it could cause Cancer. For that matter maybe Gulf War Syndrome. I was glad I disobeyed orders then, but then again, very rarely did I ever see a doctor, unless broken bones, or lose time off work. 25 Years in the Military, I missed half a day, only because I was drunk in a Hotel Room. But I payed for that one losing some cash and five weekends of extra duties. Na, not going to take flu shots, but Ive had a lot of needles in my day, every time I went overseas, felt like a pin cushion. KNOCK ON WOOD though

Yea he had a white Pale full of fish. pike it looked like to me. Both of them must o got their limit. it was full but between the two of them that would be 12 Pike. Yea and I really didnt want to elaborate, However he did mention to me that he prefered eating pike over walleye. He also told me where the walleye hole is in Pancake lake.

It was so nice out on Friday I decided to Leave early for the trailer. I got there around 3 Pm and bumped into my neighbor which was a good thing. I told him that I was going to Pancake however I better get moving as I figured it would be a 2 Km walk. That's when he told me about another trail that was about 300 meters. I was on that road but never found any trails but this time I was determined to find it. And I did. The trail is West of the Lake. You can see the Trail on the East side. That was my Original thought. Its a small lake just South of Hackett Lake which I have fished often. Perfect for my Canoe and Cart. I had missed the Trail about 3 weeks ago as I drove right by it. The Lake was a sight to behold. Nice and calm. Just a beautiful round Lake with Reeds surrounding it. Not a soul there. Just me and Spike Now for the Fishing. I brought two rods with me. My ultra lights with six pound test. I trolled a we bit and it wasn't long before I caught my first small jack. At least I know there is fish there. Spike was enjoying it, However he has not yet learned to be calm in the Canoe. Kind of had me worried so I kneeled to keep a lower profile most of the time. It didnt take that long before the sun went down and it got cool. Yea and the Mosquitoes were out. But I got another small Pike. I wonder what the heck is going through that dogs head. But man does he ever amuse me and surprises me. There was an injured Bird, so I showed him it, just to see what he would do and he almost swallowed it. He caught a gopher and I had to wrestle that out of his mouth. I am sure that he would Bite that Pike if I gave him a chance too. Boy did it get dark fast. Again I had a problem finding my way back. To my astonishment when I got in I noticed I only had one rod. You can see there is only one in the canoe that I never noticed as I was focused on the shoreline. I lost my Bass Pro Rod with my Mitchell 308. A beautiful combo. I think it might of got caught in the Reeds. Unfortunately my lure was a Sinker Rapala, otherwise I might of gone back to look for it. Here is a picture from earlier when a pike slipped off the hook So the next day I decided that I may recce a lake. Ive gone to Dugout Lake several times and always wondered if this tral that branched away would lead to a lake. Ollis Lake in Particular. Its about 3 Kms North of Dugout on the Map. Of course the trails are not on the Map. And there is my Recce Vehicle. A bike and a bag with my Map and Compass/GPS. Good to go. As you can see the trail that turns Right goes to Dugout. Yea and I got rid of that ugly survey tape that someone lit up like a runway. So I took the left trail and not even 200 meters the trail branched in two directions. So on a hunch I took the Right. Here's a show stopper. I dont have a chainsaw. No way the truck is going past here. Oh good, an outhouse in the middle of nowhere. Upon closer inspection, it was no outhouse. Some kind of hunting blind, and one of the gun holes is aimed up the trail where I came from. The other on that is on the door overlooks down hill to a small opening in the woods. Looks comfy, even a seat. So I carried on down the trail and ditched the bike as the trail was really bad. Then I came upon an opening and found these sandbags hung about 15 feet in the air. I'm thinking bear bait, but I have no Idea. (Any Ideas) Now I'm getting a bit spooked. Yea and this trail ended. No lake. Also seen this on two trees. Looks like for climbing but there is no stand in the two trees. Anyways I want to get the hell out of there. There was not a tire or foot print on the trail. Its never been used this summer it seems. Oh then I seen this sign on the trail back that I had missed. Obviously a hunting area only. So I backed tracked back to where it branched and tried the left trail this time and it did indeed lead to a Lake. To my surprise. I'm not alone. There is someone out there. Rowing. So I yelled out and asked him, how the fishing was, after I mentioned I wasn't a cop or CO. He never answered but kept rowing towards me. There was also another person. Anyways he got into shore and when he stood up I felt like a midget. This guy was huge. The other person was an old lady. Maybe his mother. First thing he says to me is howd you get here. wheres your bike, where are you from. Then he says to me is that Im the first person he seen on this lake in two years that he fished it. Probably thought I was a nut case. Oh yea, then asks me if I seen any bears. Anyways I went back to Dugout to try some fishing, and it was windy. The same firewood I left when I camped here about three weeks ago. And nice and clean. The fishing wasn't that great but I still managed a couple of Pike. But I believe I lost a good Pickerel trolling back to the Truck. The dog needed a wash so I threw a stick in.

Thanks by the way that Laker was the very first post I put on the Board. I was called a Liar when I said I caught it with 1 foot of water with about 8 feet of Ice. A couple of auger lengths. If it wasn't for the Ranger, pictured with me (Northern Peoples Military Reserves for Canadian Sovereignty) who caught one prior under the ice, I would of never thought it possible. However that lake is tied to the Bearing Sea and supposedly has tides. Since then Ive been hooked on this Board. -
Thanks for the reply. Remember those strikes, although I was young and didnt care about anything, especially current events.

Just curious here. I believe it may of been late 70s or Early 80s. I remember our news was always broadcasting news from Britain, Civil Unrest, The whole Country just about Striking, and the Country almost or was Broke. When was that, What Party was Responsible, How did they get out of it. Just Briefly, sorry if you were too young.

Hopefully I dont get in trouble for this. Where you have Immigrants, you have Liberal voters. Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Vancouver. Maybe you can also say in the same breath that Big cities Love Liberals if you dont believe the Immigrant Theory. However, I do think the Liberals knowingly know this, consequently the Immigrant Paranoia towards the Conservatives IE Harpers a Racist. However, correct me if I'm wrong, because there is allot of untrue and exaggerated stories in the news. Are the Liberals thinking of allowing our new Canadians to be to vote before they are actually citizens. I'm sure I heard that on the radio, however it could be false.

Kind of like the Military, oil field worker, On a rig is so military like its unbeliveable. Work Hard, Play Hard used to be our motto. But there is truth what John says. Most people would not be the same outside the keyboard. Like giving the guy the finger with your window closed and you driving in the Opposite direction.

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks he's a fool, and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed. The shivering grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold. THE END THE CANADIAN VERSION: The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks he's a fool, and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed. So far, so good, eh? The shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others less fortunate, like him, are cold and starving. The CBC shows up to provide live coverage of the shivering grasshopper, with cuts to a video of the ant in his comfortable warm home with a table laden with food. Canadians are stunned that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so while others have plenty. The NDP, the CAW and the Coalition Against Poverty demonstrate in front of the ant's house. The CBC, interrupting an Inuit cultural festival special from Nunavut with breaking news, broadcasts them singing "We Shall Overcome." Sven Robinson rants in an interview with Pamela Wallin that the ant has gotten rich off the backs of grasshoppers, and calls for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his "fair share". In response to polls, the Government drafts the Economic Equity and Grasshopper Anti-Discrimination Act, retroactive to the beginning of the summer. The ant's taxes are reassessed, and he is also fined for failing to hire grasshoppers as helpers. Without enough money to pay both the fine and his newly imposed retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the government. The ant moves to the US, and starts a successful agribiz company. The CBC later shows the now fat grasshopper finishing up the last of the ant's food, though Spring is still months away, while the government house he is in, which just happens to be the ant's old house, crumbles around him because he hasn't bothered to maintain it. Inadequate government funding is blamed, Roy Romanow is appointed to head a commission of enquiry that will cost $10,000,000. The grasshopper is soon dead of a drug overdose, the Toronto Star blames it on the obvious failure of government to address the root causes of despair arising from social inequity. The abandoned house is taken over by a gang of immigrant spiders, praised by the government for enriching Canada's multicultural diversity, who promptly set up a marijuana grow op and terrorize the community. THE END
