Grand Lake to Caracajou Lake using the Portage trails through spectacle Lakes. Don't waste time fishing till you get to Wenda. However the creeks will guarantee little Brookies. Wenda Lake you can rent a Cabin and Canoe as there is a direct Access via steep Hill from across Grand Lake. I always wanted to Try Rowan also as it is little known. Access is East Gate Petawawa. If you try it let me know how you make out.

Dawg, what a great Question. Thankyou for giving me a platform to enlighten some Canadian History. I know not your intention but here it goes. http://www.battleoflundyslane.com/ This Battle is a controversy. The Americans seized the British/Canadian Cannon ( so they won the Battle) But the Americans had to go back to the States as they had no supplies. The British/Canadians recaptured their cannon. We figure we won. Tidbit.... The French settlers were considered Canadians back then Sadly the grave yard is a little fenced in area surrounded by infrastructure. A neat place to visit. I know one thing, the Yanks lost at Queensto Heights because the American Militia found something in their clause that stated they couldn't fight off American Territory when ordered by the Regulars across the river.. That was when The Americans invaded crossing the Niagara River fighting Brock. Thing was they were afraid of the Indians (Tecumseh) that were screaming across the River. True story. We done the war following the Battlefields as our Military Professional Development. Of note, there is a huge statue of General Brock looking across the River to the States and depending what angle your looking at it from. Hes giving you guys the Finger. (Actually I think hes pointing) Somewhere around Queenston heights. No slag there, but it was the tour Guide ( Historian that brought it to our attention). Unless its changed. Tecumsehs memorial is a little ole rock, but without him we'd be American.

$600 for my Fuel pump in my Ford Ranger at 112,000KM. Dispicable. I want my money back from the Taxes that keep these companies going and the High Salaried Employees. Pisss on them. Buy Jap.

OT - Telemarketers using blocked private numbers
holdfast replied to charlesn's topic in General Discussion
The worst is when I check my Messages I have to wait for the telemarketer to finish their conversation so I can delete it and of course its a long winded recording. Id like to Strangle them on their so called Caribbean trips. -
Are we talking about spinning Reels? I had a Black Max once, I think I was still a Private in the Army!

Yes your right but there is a great Marketing Strategy here. Just like two companies getting together and marketing each other as competitors Coke and Pepsi. In this situation, bring up the price of Gas at the pumps and change the excuse from supply and Demand,b Storms, Kidnapping to, whats the Latest," The US Dollar" We are now witnessing the price of gas at the pumps when it was $90 a Barrel. WE KNOW THAT ITS GOING UP SOONER than LATER. Its 35 dollars a Barrel. It tells me next time its 90 dollars a barrel we will be paying Miniumum $1.80 at the pumps

Ive found that different Knots work for different lines, especially the 2-6 lb tests. It doesn't even matter what Brands either. Ive had it more often than not I would use a Palomar and it would break at the Knot. Id try a Clinch Knot, same thing. Then I would double my line and use a Double clinch. That's my last resort as it usually works. If it still breaks at the Knot. Its Rotten. Palomar knots are easiest to tie at night I find.

LOL Take it easy, but it makes for a good Rumour eh. But then again some idiot wanted us to pay a Carbon Tax.
-
Why is gas 91 cents at the pumps and oil is less than $35 a barrel. Why is USA Gas way lower than ours. Because K-Y is made from Petroleum and we are willing to pay for it and use it because we need it. All I know is IMO not making the Profits. But I bet ya the guys in Westmount and Hamstead are doing good. More Crap Plse

Like I said Who from the Mtl CANADIANS IS GOING TO PLAY FOR TEAM CANADA? I dont care about Team Europe. Geeze why do you think the Habs are Timmies. Yea Yea they got Laroque, hes a disaster on the ice. Even my favorite player Komisarek ( Team USA Possibly) is shy playing the Bruins especially with Lucic on the ice. Sorry guys, but there only one place in Canada that wants to Ban fighting. It would suit the Habs nicely. Betcha they would even ban Hitting. -
Enough of that Im on a Diet

I would go with the 4 stroke. The Only Disadvantage is its heavier. Advantages. Quieter Better on Gas Trolls down Electric Start. Did I say electric start cheaper on oil easier maintenance Heres the Kicker, dont want to start rumours, but I got a feeling going green may ban some two strokes in some waters in the near future.

Its the same sentiments here in Western Canada, but then again your in Conservative Territory. All Politics aside, I was too quite proud of how Harper Handled himself. Its too Bad that Susan Bonner of the CBC using their own Agenda decided that Harper was not proud to be Canadian making a big stink how Obama declared his love and Admiration for Canada. Fact is, if Harper would of said the exact same thing to the States, there would be an outcry for his head. Sad for a guy that's done a lot to try to calm down the Defeatists and Pessimists during this World Financial fiasco. One Last thing. Its Called the OIL SANDS out here. TAR SANDS, is well you guess it, the environmentalists word for it. Sounds Dirtier Peter Mansbridge says: LET ME BRING IN SUSAN BONNER INTO THE CONVERSATION, AND SHE WAS IN THE ROOM AND THERE WAS AN AGREEMENT ON WHO WOULD ASK THE QUESTIONS AND JENNIFER DITCHBURN, FORMERLY OF OUR BUREAU AND SHE GOT TO ASK THE ENGLISH SIDE. QUESTION: SUSAN, THE DYNAMIC IN THE ROOM, WHAT WAS YOUR SENSE OF IT ALL? The following is the transcript from the clip: Reporter: IT WAS INTERESTING, AS WE WERE LINED UP, PETER, TO GET OUT ALL THE REPORTERS WERE TALKING ABOUT THIS AND THE AGREEMENT AMONGST US REPORTERS AND, FORGIVE ME I HAVEN'T HEARD THE LAST FEW MOMENTS OF THE PROGRAMME AND SO I HOPE I'M NOT REPETITIVE, AND STEPHEN HARPER HAD A MESSAGE THAT HE WANTED TO DELIVER TO AMERICANS ABOUT THE BORDER AND ABOUT SECURITY. AND ABOUT TRADE. AND HE WAS, YOU KNOW, PUSHING THOSE MEDIA MESSAGES DIRECTLY TO TALK TO AN AMERICAN AUDIENCE. SO THAT WAS THE -- THOSE WERE THE MONEY COMMENTS FROM MY POINT OF VIEW AND FROM MY COLLEAGUES IN THE ROOM POINT OF VIEW FROM THE PRIME MINISTER OF CANADA. AND FROM PRESIDENT, THE STANDOUT FOR ALL OF US IN THE ROOM WAS, I LOVE THIS COUNTRY, AS PRESIDENT OBAMA SAYING THAT, YOU KNOW, AND REMEMBER BACK TO A COUPLE OF ELECTION CAMPAIGNS ONE OF THE FIRST QUESTIONS ASKED OF STEPHEN HARPER WAS IF HE LOVED CANADA BECAUSE HE SEEMS TO BE AT THE TIME IT WAS SEEN THAT HE WAS A LITTLE BIT AWKWARD WITH THIS KIND OF ELECTRIC LANGUAGE BUT YOU SAW THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES VOLUNTEERING THIS AND SAYING IT QUITE CASUALLY AND WARMLY AND SO THAT WAS THE BUZZ AMONG THE MEDIA AS WE WAITED PENNED UP TO BE RELEASED AND GET OUT HERE AND TALK TO OUR VARIOUS OUTLETS.

They may have more points but look who they are Playing, Ottawa, Leafs? for example and they are getting stronger. I think the Habs Played 8 Western teams and won one. Ahhh that tells me something. I watched a couple of games and they were Timmies. West has the Eastern teams by 40 Wins at last count when playing each other. Two Totally different Leagues. Oh heres one to Ponder since you love your present day Canadians? WHO IS GOING TO PLAY FOR TEAM CANADA IN THE OLYMPICS? Ha Ha Ha Ha HA Ha HA Don't say Carrie Price because if you think he is more worthy than Luongo or Thomas you better get your head checked with the rest of the Loser Hab Fans that picked out half the Allstar team. -
Yeow, Its a Big Heavy one then. I only seen one once, and it was about 200KMs West, in Alberta. I was on a dirt Road looking to get to the lake around the first snowfall and seen one just inside the woods ( Brambles) it was really camouflaged really good and all it was doing was staring at me. Hard to tell the size, but would I be out of it if I said just slightly smaller than a Lab

Thanks WJ good advice. Habs are weak and still suck though LOL

Geez WJ, aren't you tired of contributing to the same old lackluster Hockey from the Habs. Maybe if people stop buying tickets to a Piiss poor excuse for a team, they might actually bring out a product that plays Hockey instead of the crap I witnessed at their last (Western) Road trip. They wasted a draft Pick for Snider. Lets resurrect Robinson, Harper and Ted Harris eh. Go Habs Go. Ha Losers -
Always neat to see, maybe we can get them to do a fly-by at Lakair on the weekend. Hey SweetCHeeks! Let me know how it turns out when you ask.

For all you Paranoid Survivalist wannabes? Get this Book and make sure its by this guy the Author otherwise your getting a fake. We ( Us Winter Warfare Instructors use this book only as a Guide During our survival portion of the course) Why? In case your tent Burns down, your on a long Range Patrol you get lost or caught in a Storm, or shot down. We take it Serious. I'm laughing at you guys because nobody's mentioned 90% survival is your attitude. Take away your cigarettes, being cold and hungry, I bet you most of you will be crying to MA MA LOL. But this is amusing.

Ill try that out, But hopefully it does follow other wise I may have to turn around and chase him further. But you have a good point as I passed him several times on purpose with the truck hoping he would tucker out. ^ Kms later the food trick finally worked

Well since I'M still on a Diet and all I figures what better way to get Exercise than drag a Toboggan again. I took some OFners advice and decided why not ice fish some of these Back lakes. So off I went to visit that unnamed Back lake for the third time. This time Toboggan in Tow as well as my newest little buddy. What a handful he was, I parked the truck and tied him up while I unloaded and noticed he was gone. I mean Gone. I went by foot chased him for about a minute and knew there was no way Id reach the runt. So off I went and chased him about 6 kms down the road stopping ever once in a while to coax him towards me. No way and finally success when I remembered I had brought him some food. I'm lucky he was too small to take it cross country and the road was a good logging road. Spike id unbelievably fast. So I spent an hour chasing the little fella down. The weather was sunny and a high of -12 which was Beautiful compared to the Arctic Temps we've been Getting. Here's a Map of the Lake From the Road I started down the Trail which has only been used by myself. Immediately I found a fresh set of Tracks that had crossed the road and now is heading towards the lake using my trail break. These were definitely the Biggest set of tracks that Ive seen other than a Moose. Can any one ID them? They were about the size of a small tin of shoe polish. Nice and round, and a good deep in print. It followed on the trail then took off into the woods. Look at the size of the prints. Finally the trail took me to the Lake. I had no Idea where to fish as I have no Idea on the structure. So I went out about a third across the lake and drilled holes towards the shore. Id say I was between 12 and 8 feet of water. Drilling was a cinch and I was really happy with this auger I bought on sale for $49 at CT "6 Micro Drill Fin-Bore. Works Great. So I put a couple of Tip ups using 2" and 6' Smelt. No Bites but it was great just to try my Kit out. Oh yea, should of brought a first aid kit. As soon as I took the Guard off I got a nasty cut that bled for a while, but pressure and toilet paper as well as a tight mitt took care of that. The little fella, ( Between the Pale and Toboggan) I made sure she was tied good this time as I did not want to chase her again All in all it was a good Shakeout for the first time fishing this Year.

Havent you Heard? That Pike was caught in Orr Lake near Barrie and Wasaga. Theres more in there.

ACTUALLY having looked at it a second time, and studying the tail, Id say Wolf. However to know for sure from a distance, If it was moving, a Coyotes tail will droop down and it is rather long for its body.
