maybe its got something to do with the weather, you know, its above freezing almost all the time these days. i hear ya on the news anchors. i couldn't even watch the whole clip.

Kind of my point. The 'phrasing' you object to is taken from the definition, not some made up question. It's boat speak for forward facing light. But from your comment I see you still don't know what it means. Congrats on your 98 sounds like you are good to go!

when you are just bombing around or trail riding smaller machines are way more fun and if you get stuck you have some ability to manhandle the machine out of the problem, not so with some giant 650 2up. smaller machines can go lots more places than big machines. and you are dealing with a large family + guests 1 machine gets pretty dull pretty quick sounds like fun either way!

I don't see that question, nor requiring knowledge of it to be ridiculous at all. More than half of that question is simply 'can you speak boaters lanquage'. Which, if you want to be a boater, you should ba able to do. Not to mention if you are piloting a boat at night interpreting the meaning of the mysterious white light comIng at you might not seem so ridiculous when it's at 20metres

i checked that out it is very similar to my stratos excursion. same layout, rod storage, etc. that would be a great do everything boat, very few sacrifices for fishing and still a very comfortable family boat. the nicest part for me is everything is in its place - there is NOTHING on the deck of that boat if you dont want there to be..... and a nice price as well.

i thought this was pretty much in the rules? not to give away exact locations? i recognize lots of spots even when they are blurred. thought it was frowned upon to give up spots thru pics? i dont think the blurry guys are trying to hide anything, thought they were just following the rules...

How to transfer ownership for a boat
smally21 replied to Dontcryformejanhrdina's topic in General Discussion
i think the bigger concern DAND is if they find the boat floating empty in the middle of lake ontario and the coast guard phones your wife and tells her you are lost at sea, when as a matter of fact the boat changed hands some time ago and the numbers were never updated, and its DCFMA who is actually lost at sea.... and you get home and all your stuff is gone. -
How to transfer ownership for a boat
smally21 replied to Dontcryformejanhrdina's topic in General Discussion
there are no ownership papers. there is no registration. the only thing you need to do is fill out the pleasure craft licence and do it online or at service canada. your bill of sale is the only proof or ownership. so forget this change of ownership and registration there is no such thing. what are these ownership/registration papers? a pleasure craft licence is to identify the vessel, and through that identifier, the operator that fell out of it. it is to assist in SAR. it has nothing to do with driving the boat. -
great reminder...a saying for CO poisoning is it starts with a headache and ends without one. way too easy to fall asleep in the shack, especially when the heater is doing a good job., the better the heater and the better it is serviced the less CO it will give off, there should be little or no byproduct from clean combustion, but there is always something going on. improvisation, home builts, wood stoves made of coffe cans, etc., make their need greater. had an incident the other day with unconcious people in a house suffering from CO poisoning, im pretty sure they went home from the hospital by way of home depot.....

there is (was) an open ecoenergy audit program, it just closed, and its not like you can claim retroactively. the home renovation tax credit was a great program (basically 15% back on all renos) but that has closed as well. im no accountant, dont think there is much you can claim in home renos outside of these special programs. the good news is, having a kid will get you a yellow cheque from the govt each month. the bad news is, the new kid will cost you more than the amount on the cheque...... good luck with the taxes and the new addition!

billby bob your raffle sounds like a good time. we raffle off liquor in ontario. billm not getting into it with you but google georgina leimonis. the just desserts shooting in TO was one of the worst incidents to date at that time of getting caught in the middle. not that a bunch of gun toting citizens could have changed the outcome just that gun went off certainly wasnt some gang dude on the other end.... its a hot topic for sure. agreed that the idea of 'mischief at night' was the OP. wouldn't take a brain surgeon to see where it would lead however.

its likely a bad idea to correct a guy carrying a gun.....we'll just go with whatever you say.

arty i gotta disagree. while the 2nd amendment allows for open carry of firearms each state and jurisdiction has its own rules governing this, as well as cities and districts that have outright bans on open or concealed carry. broken into 4 categories... Permissive open carry states A state has passed full preemption of all firearms laws. They permit open carry to all non-prohibited citizens without permit or license. Open carry is lawful on foot and in a motor vehicle. Shown on the map to the right as "Gold Star" states; the term carries a pro-gun bias, as gun-control advocacy groups like the Brady Center generally give these states very low "scores" on their own ratings systems. Licensed open carry states A state has passed full preemption of all firearms laws. They permit open carry of a handgun to all non-prohibited citizens once they have been issued a permit or license. Open carry of a handgun is lawful on foot and in a motor vehicle. Anomalous open carry states In these states, open carry of a handgun is generally lawful, but the state may lack preemption or there may be other significant restrictions. Shown in the map legend as "Open Carry Friendly" states; the term is questionable as the limitations and/or lack of pre-emption means that certain of these states are, in their judicial system and law enforcement societies, not very "friendly" towards the practice. Non-permissive open carry states In these states, open carry of a handgun is not lawful, or is only lawful under such a limited set of circumstances that public carry is prohibited. Such limited circumstances may include when hunting, or while traveling to/from hunting locations, while on property controlled by the person carrying, or for lawful self-defense When we would travel to the states for competitions there were a few dual citizenship guys that would open up the lock boxes and strap on their pistols right after we got out of customs, the rest of us Canucks left them politely in the triple locked box til the range....

if it was frozen, why would his hands 'sink' into the flesh where he is holding it, and why would the tail sag? if it was soft enough for his hands to sink into it, then how come the fleshy, soft belly isn't indented equally, or more, where all that weight is resting on the table? was there a second shooter? grassy knoll?

guns and ammo magazine had a huge pull out chart years ago that you could hang on your wall. it showed the allowable use of force by state/by offence. some would be surprised to find that some of the great 'gun' states have fairly strict laws and in most cases dont allow concealed carry. 'arson' was a crime that allowed the use of deadly force. i remember the 'mischief at night' policy and thought it was interesting. one of the most gun loving states is connecticut, where are believe in several counties gun ownership is manadatory!

we're not supposed to kill the adult birds, but people get paid to kill their offspring....

i was thinking the same, sometimes the best tackle storage ideas start with reducing the quantities we carry.... i like the cde case idea, well done. i have a plastic tub that supports them all upright, fits about a dozen (guilty)

there is something odd aboutthe pic. ive held a laker at nearly 60 lbs fish that size can barely support their own weight out of the water, the fat just sags over your hands. how does the guy hold something so big and heavy at arms length without straining? look at this fella struggling with this monster, please disregard the rope I think he may have rode this old girl in.

yes i see that each should have a right to choose, however... there is not much point in having an association if everyone doesn't stick together on an issue
-
while i used to frequent the area, i haven't been there in some time. no one can be charged for being on the lake. so they can talk all they want. my comment would be is it really 'disgraceful' for a landowner to not want strangers on their property? passing thru or otherwise? if you read back regarding alot of threads where members homes have been accessed, cased out, or robbed, or vandalized, or littered on, you see a pretty global attitude here of security cameras, big dogs, interrogating people around your property and the usual shotgun solutions. but whenever someone else tries to protect their property or privacy, everyone gets up in arms about freedoms???? perhaps im mistaken about the original issue, but it seeeeeeemmmms like i can go in your yard, but you better stay outta mine.

sinker i used EZ lube exclusively on hundreds of trailers. its the easiest, highest quality system i came across. it is fairly inexpensive when having the axle built. lubes both sides of the bearing, which some systems dont. its designed to be overfilled, and some grease just spooges out, kind of like your lower unit. id pick this system over bearing buddies.

5th wheel on a caravan - awesome! i wish i could find the pics, an astrovan pulling a 38' houseboat we built - but only for a short distance a customer pulled up to my shop to pick up his 12,000 lb tandem it was 34' long - driving a ford escort. the improvised hitch was tied to the undercarriage and bumper... it was awesome wouldn't let him take it til he came back with his truck!
