  1. Well. Truth is the fish were scattered. They were lone cruisers or in packs up to three. Some fish looked to be still on beds. We got most of our fish in 5-9'. Could not find any deep but gave up quick on that. Jerkbaits and tubes thrown back to followers were all we used. We started at 9 and three guys came in with 18 real big ones on a stringer. We didn't catch much of course after that but found them big time around noon. We found some perfectly green stained water and bingo - it was on.
  2. Yes we did. We had to spread out away from Crystal Beach but when we found them - wow:)
  3. I went too. On thursday. It was clear
  4. That would be the easiest fix cause I can see it and get to it.
  5. Yes I do. And I have never used antifreeze (shame shame).
  6. I have a welded crestliner. Has never leaked a drop. Last trip out I had about 5 gallons of water after a long day on a very calm Lake Erie. I inspected my hull carefully and found no cracks:) I am assuming it is a live well line issue somewhere. All the hull fittings look good. Anyone battled one of these issues and won? It is a 2007 fish hawk. Thanks Landry
  7. Thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Today's winds on Erie are supposed to hit 35km SW. I am planning on fishing out of crystal beach tomorrow - winds will be light. Does anyone have any idea if water clarity will be bad due to today's high winds. I don't fiah Erie often - mostly St Clair. Thanks guys.
  9. That's hilarious. Sounds dangerous too though. I'd like to see that. Thanks everyone.
  10. Right now, due to these very expensive children (and wife) - LOL - the Caravan is an affordable vehicle for our needs so I grudgingly bought one this afternoon. The pickup will have to wait. Thanks for everyone's input.
  11. To clarify, he said the CVP is the only model that does not have enlarged reservoirs. I have been running a Mazda MPV and it has been fine. Caravans are cheap and vans are just kind of lame so I don't want to spending on a van of any kind. Lol. I have a great deal lined up but am wavering.
  12. First off - a pickup is not an option for my family right now. So - I am looking to buy a 2015 Grand Caravan to tow my crestliner 1600 fish hawk aluminum. Loaded it likely weighs 2000 lbs including trailer, motor, boat and all extras. Has anyone been using a caravan for similar towing and how does it work for you and is it holding up??? The guy at the dealership told me that all caravans come ready to tow with the enlarged cooling reservoirs already. He said the tow package is Bull and you can add a class three hitch to any of them. I want to believe that.
  13. If I owned a cottage it would be a great second or third boat. As a fishing boat - I think they suck but I am pretty hard core when it comes to my fishing.
  14. I think he may have been over trimmed but not sure. We were proposing a bit before it went off. So many variables. Lol. We will keep an eye on it.
  15. Thanks ec. We r gonna check the oil level/quality and the intake grates. Possibly it was trimmed up to much too???
  16. It has a new impeller. Bay City marine did it. I m sure it is correctly done. Good flow at pee hole.
  17. That very well could be it. Light chop and long run. Thanks. I will check the stream temp next time. It ran great after we shut it down. While he got the trailer I ran it hard for ( minutes with no issues.
  18. My friend has a new used boat with a 1999 70hp 4 stroke Suzuki. Runs really well. However, yesterday the overheat alarm came on after a 15 minute high speed run. It has a new impeller btw. Anyone own one of these and have a similar issue. What's the most likely cause.
  19. Awesome. Would that work all summer Steve?
  20. Lock the drag down. Sharpen hooks. Fight them hard. Some days or weeks u land them all sometimes they all get off. It's frustrating how they can shake a mouthful of trebles sometimes
  21. I find in the Kawarthas with my 16' x 85" crestliner I can usually get up on topic the waves and adjust trim to get it running well. On the great Lakea I often find the eves to be more spread out causing me to puns the waves no matter how I trim. That's what u get with a shorter wider aluminum boat. The big long Rangers ow by me like there are no waves - but those boats are 50,000$ more than mine:)
  22. I have fished musky almost exclusively 20 trips a year for about ten years now - 7 primarily on St Clair and never troll. Caught tons of 45-49" fish and only one over 50 at a very fat 51". Lost a couple at least as big of course. Lol.
  23. Great job guys.
  24. It won't stop poachers from doing it anyways.
  25. I went twice early in the season and we got some serious hogs - fish up to 12lbs. Great vid.
