  1. On a total side note... I spend about an hour sitting in traffic on the 401 near Cambridge yesterday on a sheet of wickedly bad black ice....
  2. Nice you actually got to land it. I loose half of them when they hit on Crappie gear.
  3. Just a little north of where you mentioned. Marked some lakers. No schools of whitefish though. Is there Perch along the shore there?
  4. I've been hearing them at my house..
  5. Just got in from a cold day on the ice. Ice is decent. 3.5" of black. In some places it has 6" of frozen slush on top.. In others I has 4" of slush/water with a thin crust of frozen slush. Marked a few. Would have got skunked if not for a herring...
  6. Dang.. On all three pics!
  7. I bet they catch some fish too!
  8. I've heard from a few people now that there's spots with 2". Both current reports from the past few days. I'll be spudding my way out tomorrow. Have you been out on Simcoe yet this year?
  9. Ahhh. Come on guys. I look forward to the cold days. Challenging conditions make it more rewarding when you ice a fat whitie!
  10. A victem of the ice storm? Kidding.,. Their tails don't stay on very well. If Ralphie got a tail in his mouth, it would pop off easily.. I've been carrying them by their tails before and had the tail snap off, just from the weight from the squirel.
  11. I got tomorrow off. So I'll be heading out in the COLD tomorrow morning. Anyone else going out?
  12. Hopefully not, if there's still spots with 2"! That being said... My buddy from Alcona said he saw a quad out past snake island earlier this week.
  13. Thanks guys! It's good to here people are tying in to some whities!!! I'm getting excited now.
  14. Nice. Thanks for the info Bri
  15. I usually drive all the way down the Inisfill to chase white fish. But I'd really like to try some on the north end. That would cut my drive in half. Anyone have any luck on the north end for White fish in the past? Or could possibly give me a starting point?.. I was thinking hawkstone area, if I can find an access point. I may head out after lunch to look for access and check ice. If anyone cares to join...
  16. I stopped on a bridge over the Wye River.. And this thought came to me.. What do you think?
  17. Should be lots! Maybe not on OFC. But if you go banging on doors. Good chance you'll pick up a few farms. There's a bounty in some areas over that way right?
  18. Nice Greg! Good job man!
  19. Thanks for the quick report. Anyone else getting punchy go jan 1?!! Edit.. Punchy FOR jan 1st....
  20. Looks like you guys had a blast!!
  21. My beloved Bravo. First pull, almost every time, especially in -30...
  22. I got boot and glove driers!! Little does my wife know... That means I can fish several days in a row now!!!
  23. I think you will be able to get an amazing ice rid for $50... Seen this rod at CT last week. I was actually going to post on here to see if anyone had any reviews. It felt like a nice solid combo. Any try this combo before???
  24. Thanks guys. I was a soupy mess out there. Some places it was over my knees! And the freezing rain never really let up all morning. Still a fun time though!
  25. For those who recognize this location... It's a rare occasion to be the only one on the lake!!! I tried 4 other locations first. Got my car stuck about 10 times!! Roads where not plowed yet!! Caught about 20 fish. Tossed back the dinks! Came back with 10 just to keep the little man happy!
