Just got in from a cold day on the ice.
Ice is decent. 3.5" of black. In some places it has 6" of frozen slush on top.. In others I has 4" of slush/water with a thin crust of frozen slush.
Marked a few. Would have got skunked if not for a herring...
I've heard from a few people now that there's spots with 2". Both current reports from the past few days.
I'll be spudding my way out tomorrow.
Have you been out on Simcoe yet this year?
A victem of the ice storm? Kidding.,.
Their tails don't stay on very well. If Ralphie got a tail in his mouth, it would pop off easily..
I've been carrying them by their tails before and had the tail snap off, just from the weight from the squirel.
I usually drive all the way down the Inisfill to chase white fish.
But I'd really like to try some on the north end. That would cut my drive in half.
Anyone have any luck on the north end for White fish in the past? Or could possibly give me a starting point?.. I was thinking hawkstone area, if I can find an access point.
I may head out after lunch to look for access and check ice. If anyone cares to join...
Should be lots!
Maybe not on OFC.
But if you go banging on doors. Good chance you'll pick up a few farms.
There's a bounty in some areas over that way right?
I think you will be able to get an amazing ice rid for $50...
Seen this rod at CT last week. I was actually going to post on here to see if anyone had any reviews. It felt like a nice solid combo.
Any try this combo before???
Thanks guys.
I was a soupy mess out there. Some places it was over my knees!
And the freezing rain never really let up all morning.
Still a fun time though!
For those who recognize this location... It's a rare occasion to be the only one on the lake!!!
I tried 4 other locations first. Got my car stuck about 10 times!! Roads where not plowed yet!!
Caught about 20 fish. Tossed back the dinks! Came back with 10 just to keep the little man happy!
