It was pretty fun show! The 600 pound weed-eater line was and eye-opener, as were the bass on steroids. They were in pretty close to shore! Dave doing his impression of "From Here to Eternity" with the fish...... um, never mind. Great start! Can't wait for the rest of the season.

Got a rather nice prime rib on the go, shiatake mushroom soup, Ceasar salad, some stuff Cindy hasn't told me about yet, good to go! The disco ball Cin got for Christmas is even hung up in the living room!

Fishing is part of my family's culture, it is part of my definition; and when I'm on the water especially in the north, it's also one of the things that defines me as a Canadian.

I've been looking at the charts and found some spots in the Moon River delta that I've not fished yet, and will try those starting the may 1st weekend. Hope to get up there for a week in August.

I'm going to try to fish top water a little more often with spooks and that sort of bait; I've gone away from those in the last season or two. Definitely, I'll fish larger soft swimbaits; can't wait!

This brings back alot of memories, mostly motocross. Speaking of racing aroma, I was Bel-Ray man myself, but when I started, there were still guys mixing Castrol R, which was fabulous! I would check the jets, the float valve, (very prone to sticking after prolonged inactivity), and anything else that could be subject to gumming up. A 140 main vs a 250 stock main is a very lean switch: Check the colour of your spark plugs....

I'd like to go after Marlin, haven't done that type deep-sea fishing yet.

It's about self-interest. All politicians know that increasing taxes hurt countries and economies, and most of them know that New Zealand avoided bankruptcy by slashing taxes in the 1980s, which resulted in a flourishing economy. Big taxes make for big government, and big budgets for ministries, and our elected representatives like that, regardless of the consequences.

This year, I had to learn to work new areas in the part of GBay where I fish. The cold spring and summer held back the weed growth, and the game changed. I was pretty happy that I learned to adapt a bit. I fished almost the whole year with jerk baits this year, in contrast to my fishing bud, who is something of a senko ninja. I like fan cast and cover water, and he spent a ton of time fishing wicked slow, but with great results.

I'm the membership director at my squash club. 8% hit to everybody next fall when annual dues are paid. My girlfriend runs a club, and is in charge of special events. I haven't looked closely at the bill, but I think there's going to be a lot of people wanting to schedule their weddings before the end of June. Our "benign" inflation level has just jumped large: I wonder if the HST will be omitted from the CPI?

Actually, there are cougars, particularly in North Toronto. One took off with all my assets a while back.

haha, I know, I know! For me, my muskie hunting takes place around the multi-species stuff. I'll tend to fish half-days for them, either morning or evening, but if I get blanked, I'll always fall back on my bass or pike spots to get a little more immediate action. Later in the fall though, I won't even worry about the bass anymore, just the toothy critters.

I love fishing for muskies, but in my neck of the woods, as is the case most places, they take a lot of effort to catch. Therefore, smallies are my choice. Lots of methods to catch them, and a great fighter, pound for pound.

Last winter I left a bucket of Gulp Alive leeches in the shed up north, and it seemed no different this year. Like somebody else said, the stuff in bags just seems to get a little gooier and ranker, not necessarily a bad thing.....

I liked Lou. Now, I didn't shop at the store all that often, but found him to be great anytime I was there. I wish him the best. In terms of the minnows, I think there's one guy with the majority of the wholesale business in the area. (Name escapes me). Just guessing, but when there is demand for stock, maybe it makes a difference if the store owner in question has a good relationship with him.
