  1. Tony, great report, and some really good pics. You're really lucky to have got out with your gramps, you both will remember it!
  2. That was a fun little break on company time, Thanks limeyangler!
  3. Hunted a ton for partridge and ducks in my teens and early twenties, but I got away from it.
  4. Those are beautiful fish, Pete! Good work! What were they hitting?
  5. Sure, I rig the leeches with a single hook through the head, no leader, usually on braid, and put a small split shot about 2 ft up from the rig. The idea for me is to get as natural a presentaion as I can. I'm going to try a really light jig head on the weekend, I think.
  6. The first time we used them was last August, and had really productive weekend of fishing: that said, we tested them against live minnows as an experiment, and landed pretty much as many smallies with the leeches. It was impressive, for sure.
  7. I had great results with the 5 inch leeches in the past, although my buddy got shut out using them last weekend. I'll be fishing them for sure this weekend, though.
  8. Congrats on the new boat, tdot Great report!
  9. Always do. The Golden Rule applies at all times, especially on the water
  10. Oh gosh no. I haven't fished either Clear or Spider but we've talked about bringing a canoe into Clear before, so maybe this is the weekend. Beautiful lakes, those. The walleye I got in one of the bays in the area. On the open water, I'll be in a 17 ft Smokercraft, with a Yamaha 70. Maybe see you up there!
  11. As a matter of fact, I'll be up in that neck of the woods this weekend. Bass, pike, the occasional muskie, and I got my first 'eye from that area this year. It looks like maybe we caught the same fish! See my profile for a pic.
  12. Prayers sent. Both my sons have done stints at Sick Kids: your little guy will be well taken care of, Curt .
  13. Morning and dusk generally are thought to be good, and yup, check the lunar tables and all that. The evening has always been my favourite time to fish, but like yo_guy said anytime is a good time! Sunrise can be a bit of a stretch for me some Sunday mornings, though......
  14. I've had good luck with the white and crawdad colours, in a couple of different sizes.
  15. haha, that's funny, 'cause white works for me!
  16. Jon, it looks like there are a couple of great possibilities for you that just showed up in the classifides; check em out!
  17. There's nothing like a good frit wagon! Pass the malt vinegar, please......
  18. Thank you for your advice, Wayne. We don't know each other, but my condolences on the loss of your sister. Chris
  19. Burke goes and gets himself a good goalie because he knows the new guys will be in the penalty box alot..... At least there's some method to his madness.
  20. Aside from the powder coating coming off and ruining the fun, Red Green would be proud.
  21. Heh heh, I think what you've got there is a black and tan Lab, AB!
  22. Nessie?
  23. Called them pickerel for years, only in the last 5 or so have I referred to them as walleye. Always have seemed to call them partridge, even though I knew I was hunting ruffed grouse!
  24. 5 that I use, and a Heddon Pal caster and a South Bend spinning rod that belonged to my dad that I don't use, but will never get rid of.
  25. I'm there; my siblings are all across the country, so FB makes it easy to keep in touch.
