  1. It's a new website, I know, but I think it's strange that they are pitching their products to the esox fans but the gallery shows only some fine lookin salvelinuses.
  2. See if you can remember all the bum, boob and fart jokes from when you were a kid.
  3. That was funny right there.
  4. Jeeze, I shouldn't read threads like this right before dinner. It's tough typing in a puddle of drool.
  5. The current rate of exchange is only 1.109. I wonder about the date of that webpage ? Visa should be offering 1.14 or so. The exchange rate is set at the time of purchase and it will vary according to date and time. Hope this hleps.
  6. Holy Cow, Raf. Those are beauties! Nice photos, too.
  7. Congratulations, HH. You must be feeling a little giddy with that recent success. I hope the rest of your real estate adventure goes as well as the start.
  8. See? And I thought this was a continuation of your 'weirdest thing I have caught' story.
  9. Raf, I was worried too that things were going to get messy on this thread.
  10. I like the Quantum rods, too. Nice lookin gear.
  11. I gots the FZ8, same deal with Dave Chong, on Friday. He dropped by work and even drove me to the bank. He called me yesterday with his Algonquin laker report from the weekend, and to see how my new toy was working out. A nice type o guy fer sure.
  12. Great report - I'm sure that will ease last weekend's results for more than a few fishers. Nice photos too. Thanks.
  13. Meely Weely is one of my favourite folks on this board. Funnier than heck, too.
  14. I'm going to take your advice there on that one.
  15. Welcome to you, Jamie. I think there is a walleye somewhere in your post, but you might want to try that again. Where do you like to fish?
  16. I posted this thread because it worked for me in a week or so, and for 18 out of 21 folks I have hounded to try it (I'm keeping track). Two of them even had carpal tunnel surgery that didn't work for them. Unfortunately, Spiel was one of those that it didn't help. If you can't find a practitioner locally from that search page, start checking out local chiros to see if they do that. I expect that the directory has a monthly fee...so not all might be found on the link I posted earlier. If you get surgery without trying this or decide to continue to suffer, you deserve to be old.
  17. I was looking at Gerritt's hand thread, and noted a few replies. Although this obviously wouldn't help G, I know that some of us are suffering from scar tissue related stuff, like sciatica, carpal tunnel, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow and so on. Please, please, please, before you have someone cut you, see a professional who practices Active Release Therapy. It is not chiropractic, but is often performed by chiropractors. For soft tissue problems, ART boasts a success rate of 90%, much better than surgery. This is in five visits over two or three weeks. Most health insurers in the US will not pay for these types of surgery until ART has been done. There's gotta be a good reason for that. Just type your postal code on this page to find a licensed practitioner close to home or work. If you try it and it doesn't work, and you are ticked at my lousy advice, pm me and I'll look after the cost of your treatments. When has douG ever steered anyone wrong? It's only massage fer chrissakes. Don't make me have to come over there.
  18. That's what we're like, here, Kayvanblue. One of the reasons why this place is so addictive. You've been warned.
  19. Lookin' forward, as Barbara might say.
  20. Congratulations, Lew. The huge screen minimizes the amount of user involvement which gives much more joy. That certainly looks like top o' the line. You will want to get some good maps to go along with that jewel. I remember, Lew, when you first started posting, and leading you thru some internet stuff. How times have changed, it would seem. Congratulations again, and best to you.
  21. I fish for lake trout in the spring in Algonquin, and never do all that well, so this free advice is likely worth every dang penny. Everything works. For somebody, just not for me. Try small spoons, 1 1/2 in, in colours like silver/blue, gold/black, black/white. 3 - 6 in stickbaits with 1 oz keel weights in similar colours. Deep diving lures (10 - 15 ft) can also work. I've also seen some very nice lakers caught on large spoons, and even brown/red lipless crankbaits. Salmon type rigs like j plugs work in some waters too. Some even troll huge musky swim baits at high speed with great success. In - line boards are not a lot of money, and can take your shallow diving minnow baits right in to shore. I really have no idea. Hope this hleps.
  22. Lake trout prefer water in the 50 degree F range, and I'm told that some lakes in that area forecast a surface temp in that range in mid July, only warming later in the summer and early fall. This means that you may find lakers in the top ten feet during your stay. I don't see how planer boards will be needed (or help), just longline.
  23. I love happy endings. Congratulations on your new home, Tony.
  24. I can't see how I could possibly.
  25. what's his name. Now that was funny. I typed Di11ig@f.
