  1. Hmmmmm, lake trout. Very nice, Tom, thanks.
  2. That lake trout is huge, very nice.
  3. I think the banjo minnow was the original dropshot rig. No?
  4. No worries, Tref, your secret is safe with me. BTW, are you smelling like clover, or is it just me?
  5. Rein, pretty darn sure that it looks like a picture.
  6. I heard a radio interview with a dude that drives a 100,000 lb semi for 16 hours each way on McRae Lake in the NWT.
  7. You can post most pictures on the internet here on this board, by using image tags, that look like this:
  8. sbcREGAL seems to make sense.
  9. Bingo. Are we great around here or what? If Photobucket hosts your pictures, they look a little nicer on the page. Since you are feeling all frisky, why not give the same thing a try on Photobucket? You still need to resize your pictures first, i think.
  10. Hi, Brian, thanks a lot for your post. I bet that took some soul searching to figger that stuff out enough to give us a great account of why you haven't been around much. If work is demanding 100%, and giving back 150%, then you are doing the right thing as you know. Good onya, b'y. Give'r. Just drop us a line from time to time.
  11. The active trout will follow the thermocline once it sets up. Look for surface temp in the mid 50F range for that to start to happen, and then it's time to drop down to find that 50F water that active lakers like.
  12. Do these guys need a license to sell roe? Where do they get the roe? Do their fingers get dry and crack from handling the roe bags? Inquiring minds need to know.
  13. Yesterday and this morning, conditions were fine. Wednesday, not so much. It's hard to believe that I can see brown grass where there was 3 ft of snow last weekend. This rain and melt will help bring the staging fish upstream, but won't do much for the fishing opportunities. Whatever you do, don't plan on fishing this weekend. Nope, nope, nope.
  14. Fresh air and sunshine are good things for all of us this time of year, especially those who are feeling a little sad. Make sure that the house is running itself (cooking and cleaning for example) and that she doesn't feel overwhelmed by that part of the day. Do it yourself, call in a family member, or send somebody to help out. See if the two of you can get out for a movie or a dinner. Good luck.
  15. Just dredge the fillets in seasoned flour, and fry quickly in a little butter and olive oil, serve with lemon wedges. That's all.
  16. If you can't find a club, just use a stick or a rock. That's what some do anyway.
  17. Best Fishes, and a Happy Birthday to my friend Glen. 'member your first Nipissing pike? Hope to do that again shortly, good health to ya. And Cheryl, too, the woman is a saint.
  18. Cliff, Carole, youse guys rock. The hospitality was perfect, ( fresh coffee, and let me show you how I rig for steelhead, do you have roe?), conversation was stimulating, and we even caught some fine chrome. Well, Cliff did anyway. Cliff and Carole have a reputation on this board for being the consummate hosts (that is extra, extra good), and it is well deserved. Lovely folks, with great kids too. Any parent knows that happy, confident children are a pleasure and a blessing, and they have this in spades. A pleasure to meet Sam and Kidney. Skidley. Kibbley. Stinky. Something like that. Sydney, is your finger still a little bit wobbly, like it might just pop off the knuckle? Wear gloves, is my suggestion. Looking forward to the next time, many thanks for a great morning. Best, douG
  19. Listen, he wouldn't.
  20. http://www.canadianshakespeares.ca/multime..._the_blood).asx Julie, Julie, I told him, don't go. Don't go, I said. It's the Ides of March. Beware, already.
  21. I wonder if the red 'curry' paste is actually Sambal Olek, or chili paste. It is used to add a little zing to mild sauces.
  22. Very nice, Carole, great smile on the both of you!
  23. hee hee hee, he said boobies.
