  1. Poppy Brian, that sounds great. Thanks for the shots, that's a nice place you live in.
  2. Very nice ride, Mike, that is definitely the smile of a proud owner. As for the multiquote, it's a lot of cutting and pasting I think.
  3. Great time to pick up some winter clothing at clearance prices, got a nice hooded polar fleece jacket at 60% off. But pancake downrigger balls at $54?
  4. Psssssssst, Wayne. You have boats on your runway.
  5. Baitcasters are better at some things than spinning reels, and, as luck would have it, they typically like different rods too (yahooooooo!). Baitcasters work better dealing with heavy lures or in heavy cover, with heavy rods, while spinning gear is better at most other things. The jury is still out on trolling or downrigging.
  6. Great job, Cliff and Sinker. It's great making memories.
  7. http://www.alv.org.au/issues/stoprodeo.php That's what some people are saying anyway.
  8. I had a pike twist and bite me, opened up my thumb nicely. I got the last licks in tho, with a Parry Sound Severe and some light breading. Nice pictures of a beauty day.
  9. The Dream Team nails another outing. Very nice, Cliff and Carole.
  10. Thanks for the update, Smokin'. Looking forward to your reports.
  11. Nice shootin', Joanne. Nice to see some pics of you and Paul doing what you do best on the lower N. I was sorry to hear about the heatstroke / sunstroke. I've had that too and you really feel like crap. Like my hat?
  12. Welcome back, Richard, you've been missed. Thanks for thinking of us during these busy days, we've been thinking about you. Best to the best. douG
  13. Please see a chiropractor or other soft tissue therapist that does Active Release Therapy. It works. It's just a form of deep massage, and you can see results immediately. You can check for a practitioner here just by typing in your postal code.
  14. Yup, Steve. The original days of the Near West OFC Anglers and Swillers were sumpin. I know you will keep in touch with us, and I have a feeling we will sit down for a bowl of pho again. Best to you and the family.
  15. Check your regs before 'retaining' your fish, that's my advice. Algonquin is zone 15. Good luck, and all the advice you have received so far is very good. There are a couple of secret lures, but if I told you...
  16. I'm all for it. Full speed ahead and dang the tuxedos.
  17. Wow, Emil. A plan comes together, a beautiful thing. Congratulations!. That boat is a beauty. Hope to buy you some gas on a big lake sometime soon. 1 week on Opeongo in 2 weeks, me. Hope that plan comes together too.
  18. A piece of string walked into a small town on a hot, dusty day. He was thirsty, so he sauntered into the first establishment he encountered and asked the waiter for a glass of water. "Sorry", said the waiter, "we don't serve strings here." Discouraged, the string walked out. A little further down the street, he met a stranger. "You look hot," said the stranger. "Why don't you go into that cafe and get a drink of water?" "I tried that," said the string, "but the waiter wouldn't serve me anything because I'm just a string." "No problem" said the stranger. "I'll fix you up." He grabbed the string, tied him in a bowline and frayed his ends. "Now try it." The string slipped back into the cafe and asked the waiter for a glass of water. "Hey," said the waiter, "aren't you the piece of string that was just in here?" "Nope," retorted the string, "I'm a frayed knot."
  19. That is a hella lot of water. Hope the situation eases soon.
