  1. Mr. F, that was just great, still wiping eyes. I love this board, I really really do.
  2. I have been using a Coleman 4 man tent I purchased at Canadian Tire for about 7 years now, and will be using it again shortly. It works just fine in rather extreme conditions of wind and rain. Make sure that the tent you get has a full fly that extends almost to the ground. Also, I could imagine sharing this tent with my wife, but things would be pretty cozy with a buddy. No way you could put four in that tent, unless you all rolled over at the same time. The advice you received about Eureka tents is good - they are probably better than my Coleman. I paid about $150 for my Coleman.
  3. "This is not an energy policy. This is money laundering: we borrow money from China and ship it to Saudi Arabia and take a little cut for ourselves as it goes through our gas tanks. What a way to build our country. When the summer is over, we will have increased our debt to China, increased our transfer of wealth to Saudi Arabia and increased our contribution to global warming for our kids to inherit. . . . " And from the Same article from the New York Times, "The bickering has been so poisonous that when Congress passed the 2007 energy bill last December, it failed to extend any stimulus for wind and solar energy production. Oil and gas kept all their credits, but those for wind and solar have been left to expire".
  4. Fabulous, Mike, and congratulations to Victor, too. A great recounting of the trials and tribulations of tributary fishing. That was beautiful, even if I say so myself.
  5. Are you in a boat, or shore-bound? You can find steelhead / rainbow trout from shore using long rods, floats, and roe or pink woims. I still can't come to toims with woims. Do some googling on 'steelhead float' and see what you find. Don't be surprised if this board comes up in your search.
  6. Take the old one with you when you go, Steve. Let me know how you make out.
  7. Steve, let me know if you want me to replace it for you, I live near the airport. And next time just ask your buddies at OFC.
  8. It looks like a Bourns 3362. The value or range should be marked on one of the vertical faces. Electrosonic stocks them locally, 1100 Gordon Baker Rd., North York. I think they are about $1.75.
  9. That first one is a whale. Nice shooting, Dax. BTW, how cool is it to have a name like that?
  10. Sweet family and pictures, Cliff. Thanks very much.
  11. I make really good gravy myself! Welcome!
  12. When I worked at the grocery story, some little old lady asked if she could have half a head of lettuce. I told her that I would ask the manager, and would be right back. I went to the back of the store and said to my boss that some weirdo wanted half a head of lettuce. As I say this, my boss is pointing over my shoulder - she had followed me! I quickly said, 'And this nice lady here would like the other half'.
  13. Thanks, Joe. Don't want to seem too pushy there tho.
  14. Spoonpullers is a great place for trolling info for salmon and trout on big water. They might tell you that your trolling speed will depend on your bait type - flasher, dodger, spoon, plug, crankbait. All have a preferred presentation speed. You write well - welcome to our community. I am certainly looking forward to hearing how you make out and progress. Please let us know. We like pictures, too.
  15. A Wiggle Wart! Very nice feesh.
  16. As our friendly local Peace Officer said, these guys were well equipped with nice gear, not too likely that they weren't aware of the regs. They just assumed that they wouldn't be caught. How can you not like a cop that busts poachers? I'd like a few more. Thanks again, FnA.
  17. There must be more than one Police Officer who loves fishing. Thanks for looking out. I would like to see Donna out there too.
  18. It's right around the corner from me. It's called the Etobicoke Olympium, at the northwest corner of Renforth and Rathburn.
  19. Congrats, Brian. Thanks for the pictures, too.
  20. A sure sign of spring, Glen. Lookin mighty buff too.
  21. I do, Brian. Youngsters these days don't know how good they have it.
  22. There's no holdin' him back now! Congratulations, MB.
  23. Louse / lice, mouse / mice. House / hice?
