  1. Well I do have another weeks vacation, and I do love Lakair - but the taxman tells me I gave to give him $2068. So I guess that means no!
  2. They keep telling me that, but I dont know where to find them...YET!
  3. Its been a couple years since I've had the pleasure if fishing in Ontario. I've been living in Halifax for almost two years and it kills me to read all the spring fishing reports of big fish caught in Ontario. Well, my sister, who lives in Ontario, recently had a baby, and I decided that this would be a perfect time to visit my old stomping ground in Toronto, and visit the famn damily. We spent two weeks in Ontario traveling between Mississauga, London, Kincardine, Guelph, St Catherines, Niagara Falls and everywhere in between to visit friend and family. I had hoped to fish the Thames in London with my son and his 2 cousins, but the water levels were brutal, and flood waters arn't exactly safe for wee children. Luckily my son had a good time anyway. especially at the zoo... I went steelheading for the first time in the Penetangore Rive in Kincardine with Scott Duncan, and while we spotted a few nice steelies, the only fish landed was a small pike caught by my buddy Scott. Oh for one. And after fishing Scott he tattooed my wife... I went steelheading again, this time in the Credit River with a fellow OFNer (HighDrifter). Good times were had - we even saw Fidel's Spirit animal, a coyote - but no fish were caught. Later I met up with Snag to make an exchange out of the trunk of my car in the form of fishing lures. Ending up running into a fella named Bruce who is the head of Muskies Canada Mississauga. We chatted for a bit and Snag was pretty late for work - he may or may not have been fired. Finally, on the day before I had to leave (May 9), I made my way out to Toronto Islands with my buddy Jon and finally got into a fish. A decent little pike, which is considerably larger then anything I've caught (or seen) here in Halifax. I'll get some more pics added tonight, but here my first TO pike in ages! So until next time Ontario, so long and thanks for all the fish!
  4. Toronto Islands is pretty solid right now, but this weekend it will be VERY busy out there - actually anywhere in TO will probably be really busy this weekend. Grenedier pond also holds multiple species. Throw Toronto fishing into the search engine at the top right and you get some results...
  5. I've plenty of stories about pike in the Credit, like they said above, 20+ years ago. I have seen pike washed up on shore just minute from the mouth of the credit withing the last few years, so I see no reason there shouldn't be some around today.
  6. I'm out on the east coast where Crosby fans are all around, but I gotta say that Ovetchkin is my favorite player to watch, he does it all!
  7. Nice! I've never caught a walleye out there, got a nice pike last Saturday though!
  8. Harris park used to be a fav spot of mine, but as of last week the water levels were VERY high. If the rain would stay away for a bit, the fishing should be solid. The carp in the area LOVE corn. In teh heat of the summer, when the water is low, you can see them all over the place. Good Luck! Heres a nice little pike and carp I caught a couple summers ago...
  9. Mosdef go for the Calcutta! I got teh 251 for $250 a few years back and its been very good to me!
  10. NICE!!! You killed em bro! We'll meet up soon!
  11. NICE!!! You killed em bro! We'll meet up soon!
  12. Glad I could help, solid fish!!
  13. Yup thats it! Ad make sure you have a license and no one will give you grief! If the weather is nice its crowded on the weekend and you will have a crowd gather when you hook into one
  14. I'll be out at Toronto Islands on May 2nd hopefully!
  15. Center island is my favorite, the main channel seems to hold the largest pike. Occasionally you'll get them 35+ inches... but mostly you get them around 28-32 inches... May is primetime for pike becuase the weeds are low enough to pull a variety of lures through. I mainly use spinner baits, but spoons and x-raps are good lures as well.
  16. I spent some time in Veradero, but never ventured out with a guide. The fishing was tough, but there were plenty of small fish around. The biggest fish I caught was 4-5lb snapper. my report: http://www.fishingfury.com/shore-fishing-varadero-cuba/
  17. Gotta go with some Rapala x-raps, GULP sinking minnows and and of course, some Mepps spinners! Plenty of hooks and sinkers are key, becuase when all else fails you can fish with worms or leeches!
  18. I use a 6"6 Shimano Compre with a Quantum Cabo PTs CBC31 reel.
  19. Thats awesome, very impressive stats! Now lets double that for next year
