  1. What would a ton of dried hardwood fetch?
  2. I'm guessing those pellets are not cheap.
  3. So instead of pressing the thumb bar to let line out and then turning the crank to stop the line release, you just hold the flipping switch down and line is released as long as you hold it down? Then the spool stops as if the crank is turned? Sounds perfect.
  4. Looking around on line. Seems the flipping switch is a must for trolling/bottom bouncing. Can somebody explain how it works?
  5. Nice work! Congrats.
  6. Holy Toledo. 30 full cords? Will be lots of ash around. In GTA most are half dead. In Buckhorn still looking good
  7. So Gents. Instead of a reel counter, Is there a good Baitcaster for the job? Easy to let line out. I guess they all do that by thumb Would be used mostly for trolling cranks, harnesses. 30 lb braid.
  8. Never heard of the PP metered line. Looked it up. Sounds interesting. I'm thinking that would work. Then I could get a Baitcaster and not just a trolling reel. Bonus. Thanks.
  9. Stick with what you know. Get into Forman/Estimator role instead of hard labour. Lots of paper pushers around.
  10. Great story and happy for the Tinnie Gang!
  11. Hi Gents. Been using an older Abu Eon as a walleye trolling rod. Wasn't the best but it got the job done. Well, it got real sick yesterday. After opening it up, it died on the table. Looking for a bullet proof Bait Caster for slow trolling 30 lb braid. Occasionally casting. Was wondering if such a thing comes with a line counter. I have a great Diawa trolling real with counter for salmon/ dipsey trolling but it's too big for Pigeon Lake. Anybody have any suggestions? Yah and not too expensive. Preferably under $200. Thanks Peter
  12. All the more reason to beef up the Fluoro. Not supposed to be able to see it.
  13. Pigeon Lake so lots of skis. The break offs don't involve a strike as far as i can tell but I guess sharp teeth could do it too.
  14. Happened again this morning. Lost a diving crank trolling on the outside curve of a weed edge. I'm thinking the line caught the weeds and the zebra mussel growing on them cut the line. Happened earlier in the summer. Likely on the rocks/mussels. Was using 30 lb PP alone. Then added 4 ft Fluoro 12lb leader. Problem stopped. This morning it failed again. Checked leader for nicks/strength before troll. Put on 25 lb Fluoro leader. Was rewarded with PB 'eye 10 am. Blue sky. Flat water. 25 inch fatty. Thought I had a ski on. Seems the leader didn't hinder. Picture coming.
  15. Slick. And handy for sure. Wonder what it goes for?
  16. Good idea
  17. That's unreal.
  18. Chatted with a CO on Nippising years ago after being checked. He had a worn 19 ft Crestliner and Yammy combo. Said they beat it up pretty good in the big water. No problems. Says a lot to me.
  19. Nothin like having a Muskie lure STOP and not budge on a retrieve. Then feel that first heavy head shake. Like I say. Better than sex. ?
  20. Hell of a fish, Gallie. Great story. Congrats
  21. This time of year is a bit tricky Cliff. In the spring, when lots of folks are looking for waterfront property, might be better to list without an agent. Might still be ok, but don't wait too long. Find a good agent and don't be afraid to negotiate the rate. I would think you can find one that would take 4%. Having a motivated vendor is easy money for an Agent.
  22. Was unreal Remember it like it was yesterday.
  23. Great. Any sign of Skis?
