  1. How much will taxes go down from all the money saved?
  2. Posts like this are great. It's awesome to see the world waking up to the corporate blanket spread over their lives.
  3. I go through those phases... what I've learned over the years is it's just a signal that it's time to switch species.
  4. Still hammering spoons on the Erie tribs!
  5. I dunno if it'd be better or worse but you certainly have a shot at steelhead and lots of other fishies that way!
  6. 21-27 days is prime beef aging range. Kobe and Certified Angus (certified is not the crap you buy at Sobey's marked 'black angus') are aged this long which is one third the reason for their incredible flavour and tenderness. Even how the cow is slaughtered will have an effect on the meat. It's little known but halal slaughter methods actually do produce a more tender cut in the end. HOWEVER a grass fed cow will always produce a better marble and overall flavour if slaughtered and hung the same as a corn fed cow, that's just fact. They can both turn out pretty good though. Grass fed beef can be grade F to Canada Prime in rating. Corn fed never goes higher than AAA.
  7. I could probably go on a couple of ponds in town... But i'll wait! Nice to see the north is ready though!
  8. I didnt know that. I was always interested in checking the place out, thanks for that info! Ill stick with my local guy.
  9. Thanks for the info. I dont know why I didnt put that together. We 'air filter' the chlorine out of our tapwater before we refridgerate it.. shoulda figured that out. Lol
  10. Same place as you? You just re-worded what I said so it sounded PC. Except that "unexpected" part. They full well know it's coming. Please explain how they remove chlorine from water without distillation?
  11. People are actually going out of their way to buy advertisements now. Hmm.
  12. Does "Oh Goodness Me" in Brantford not carry organic meats?
  13. Wastewater is kind of a joke that we all ignore. Most treatment facilities go through a 'purge' once a month or so. Essentially this means they have too much waste to deal with, so they take the least toxic of the wastewater, triple the chlorine and shoot it directly back into the watershed. Terrible!! And ROUTINE!!
  14. It's a wonder how there's any water left in there.
  15. There's a difference between cross breeding plants that can be naturally cross bred and chemically altering their DNA to be 'better'... That's science.
  16. There IS viable alternatives on the shelf... For now. The option is there. If more people would drop the higher price on the stuff that won't give them cancer, those prices would go down. Supply and demand. Buy organic or at very least "antibiotic and hormone free" . PC has it's 'Free From' line which is quite legit and pretty reasonable priced when you compare it to the cornfed alternative at regular price. The prices on these hormone free and free range products have dropped rapidly in recent years as there is now a competitive market. Pillers for instance has gone specifically to all hormone free/antibiotic free grass fed meats. Schneiders has an entire line of all their products mirrored in a hormone/preservative free version called Country Naturals. And their sister Maple Leaf has "natural selections" the same thing. The people never understand that the power is in THEIR hands. The winds of change are upon us.
  17. I gotta admit that would be so freakin sweet to have!!
  18. Extreme heat certainly could do some damage, but cold and normal seasonal temps shouldn't do a thing. I pulled a rod outta my dad's shed that was in there all seasons for about 8 years. Still all worked fine, even the reel still seemed greased which surprised me. Haha
  19. If they genetically modify roe to milk better and last longer, I might change my opinions. I'll stay outta this one.
  20. Vegetable or canola oil on your spool will stop the ice from bunching up in the line guide.
  21. I dont fish lakers, but I know for pike with a still (dead) bait set up the baitcaster is really nice. If you crank the brakes up you can let it freespool when a fish takes the bait much like a baitrunner for carp. I do it so I don't lose my rod down the hole but I'm sure it helps fish hang on to the bait longer too.
  22. Definitely this one for me. Framed on the wall in my living room!
  23. "Im a butcher" immediate got shot down, but we should all respect HIS career, which is also JUST as related to GMO?
