  1. Good to see you finally broke away from HQ buddy! Great times and great fish as always it seems! Glad the yocals haven't decimated the OOS stocks.. i heard about the discussions on "that board" earlier in the winter. Typical. Keep it up Ryan! You're a little closer now.. I'm sure we could get a couple hrs of fishing in sometime this spring!
  2. It's now 100% certain Lew has never smiled in a photograph, ever!
  3. I would get a 10' jon, for comfort's sakes.. unless you don't spend more than about 4 hrs fishing, your back will kill you
  4. Yeah, you sound like someone people would like fishing their run.
  5. Most people walk out from Akers/Bayside Ice Fishing in St. williams. They have minnows there I believe but if not R&R Outdoors in Long Point always has some. You can also walk out from the Old Cut in LP. From what I hear that is the better area this week.
  6. The conservation area has two ponds and is located at the far west end of mechanic street.
  7. Lol I have one.. hey, it fits in your coat pocket.. something is better than nothing!
  8. It's pretty terrible this year. I've been travelling to Pine Hurst & area to get into fish.
  9. I have caught inland browns on mini buzzbaits in really frothy water..
  10. There's little red berries all over the ponds here in the summer. You won't find a bait that will catch panfish and carp faster than those berries. Lol
  11. The Nith has some great stretches too. More likely to hook into bigger smallies or a pike on the Nith than the Speed in my opinion. But it's all great water.
  12. Smallies in all of the grand and it's tribs. More so it seems in the kitchener-paris stretch. The speed can be as good as the grand.. but really you're better off on the grand.
  13. I have a stradic fj... great reel as well and a lifetime purchase. Oh, you already picked. Good choice. Lol
  14. BPS Extreme is 80 bucks and probably the highest quality spinning reel ive ever owned.
  15. We always put the canoe in behind the gas station on river rd east, great stretch of river.
  16. The reason I want the pod is because the swim behind my house is all big concrete slabs. I can jam the bank sticks in between the cracks but it is not the same as having a pod. But I guess a homemade job would do just fine for that.
  17. Hey I been using the sticks for a long time.. just like a bass fisherman wants a bigger bass boat I want fancier sticks, lol
  18. You don't happen to have any pics of your homemade job, do ya?
  19. I was thinking about making my own , since carp fishing appears to still be months away anyway, lol.. but thanks everyone for the advice.. DOS, I may just be in touch if my creative side fails me.
  20. Anybody know where to get a relatively ($100 or less) cheap carp pod? I tried online but wow are they hard to find. Tried "carp kit international" found one for 40 bucks or so but they wouldn't accept my postal code as valid. Not sure why, BPS ships to it all the time. Anyway, any other online outlets or local southern ON vendors anyone knows of? Would like one before ice out (so y'know, June)
  21. PS: there is some quiet profanity in the vid but not directed toward the camera. I apologize.
  22. Here is a recent episode of 'Action Angling' ice fishing and laying the smackdown on the panfish. Enjoy!
