Definitely a juvenile pike, no question. A musky in that water would be white.

My buddy caught one once, dropped it on a rock and either dislocated or broke it's spine. It was in a complete paralyzed 45 degree angle just behind it's head. He didn't know what to do, so he smacked the pike on the angle and it went back into shape. He put it back, and ill be dammed, it swam away.. we fished 4 more hours on that rock pier and never saw the thing again!

It was still eating.. i'd say it will survive. Pike are one of the hardiest fish that swim. I've caught two this year that only had one gill. Looks like you had a great time shore fishing though. Chug bug too big for bass? Maybe if it's 25" long.

Well, this may be true. But if so they should not label the boat with a name like "fisherman's dream boat kit" if it's really made for play and occasional worm dunking.

That is some excellent information.. really, thank you very much!

Thanks Rob! Yes it is. I only just started catching black crappies in this pond this year. 90% of what we get in typical spots has been whites. This is my PB white, I think!

Okay, an update. After sending pics they asked my buying info, i told them I bought direct, they had no file of my ordering from them . Was getting very frustrated, so checked back credit card statements and I got it from Cabelas last year (doy) on july 27th. So I have forwarded them a pic of the credit card statement, unfortunately it does not detail what I bought from Cabelas.. just that I plopped 800 bucks in one shot. So we'll just have to hope it's good enough. Moral: save your damn receipts, rich!!!!!

Sounds like thats what the musky WANT you to think when they RISE UP AND TAKE THE POWER BACK!! lol

Out pike fishing Monday with sleded, saw a nice beaver house. Stopped casting for a minute to toss a 1" tube on a dropshot rig. Bounce, bounce, hmm yes there is crappies in there!

You're bang on. Just got the email back. I don't have to send it back, by the sound of it, but yep.. sounds like they'll replace and inspect.

I bought a Sea Eagle inflatable boat last summer. Used it pretty darn near daily til october, and pulled it out this spring again around late April. It worked fine, was quite tough the first season. This season, it's falling apart. It started with an inexplicable pinhole leak in the outer chamber, I patched it. It was good for 2 weeks. Then the seam split while inflating (NOT over-inflating either) on the outer chamber. I patched it as best I could. But the seam is now splitting further every trip, and requiring copious patching. This boat is supposed to be rated for 'class 3 rapids' so I feel this is a pretty serious problem to have happen. Think it would be worth a complaint to the manufacturer? I bought it brand new, direct from sea eagle last June.

Every fish needs proper revival to survive. They were just without oxygen for an undetermined period of time.. put them back breathing!

You certainly have a better shot at bigger pike on cooks

I can't stand the 45 minutes of overdramatic interviews with locals. Give me a real fishing show any day.

I saw pike doing the same thing two days ago. I asked them why they were doing it but they never replied. I think they may have been spies.
-
Well, there's trophy pike anywhere there's pike so I'd say pick a lodge then pick bigger lures than what everyone else is using. Lol
-
No hate for the pike here. Just way too much love. Lol

Mine deflates as the day goes by, but only in the outer chamber. It is a sea eagle 12' It always has, since I got it. Been patched twice, doesn't seem to effect the amount of air escaping. I just give it a few courtesy pumps as the day goes on, keeps it nice and full.

50k winds? Oh no problem we'll just go to a smaller pond. Ha. Right. Battled insane wind, and luckily very little rain, 8 hrs today casting for pike. Threw the anchor down and knew we were in for a day when all it did was slow us down enough to fish. Every 5 min we were into fish though... oos bass. Wherever we went, whatever we did to avoid them. There they were. Small pond disadvantage. The winds didn't let up, but at about 4 pm they changed direction. Things got exciting, the bass were gone, and the pike were hungry! Well. Agressive. Add in the ultimate frustration. As we're drifting shore to shore in 20 min intervals, we're getting follow after follow, short strike after short strike. FINALLY .. It comes, a true big girl follows to the boat, flares up at the figure 8... And a 1lb bass comes out of nowhere and hits the spinnerbait, and the pike swims away. Oh yeah. Some days you kinda wanna forget.

Superstitions are masks of confidence, so best thing to bring would be your determination I'd say.
