Do you find that the size of the hole you drill while ice fishing can effect the fishing? Obviously punching a hole in the blanket of snow cover above the fish allows a certain amount of light in, and may seem unnatural to the fish. For some reason I always catch more fish when I use a 6" hole rather than an 8" hole. Maybe its just a confidence thing?

I think there is a certain social aspect of ice fishing that you cant get from regular fishing. Sure a group of guys can go out in boats and yell to each other, but out on the ice is like a big gathering. Share tips, stories and cold 'pops'. Not that ice fishing alone isnt just as good.

It certainly doesnt compare to tossing musky lures, but it is a ton of fun. I use the run & gun approach most of hte time like darcy said. Gotta keep roaming to keep on the pike.

People should have the freedom to do whatever they like with the pictures they choose to share with the community. At least they are posting pictures, they could easily choose to not post reports at all.
