  1. Awesome stuff Clive!
  2. You only need one lure on Jordan Harbour, the Jig & Pig. Remember when the water is that dirty, the bass pretty much push themselves right on to any structure. You gotta make many casts (or pitches) to one spot until you drop the lure on their head. Hit every stump from every possible angle.
  3. Makes sense. They're like crayfish, only more plentiful and no annoying claws. If I was a fish I'd be eatin' em too.
  4. Wow, the incredible "increasing size" pond/ If you stayed out there til this morning your fish would probably be into the 20 lb range! lol Great report, looks like you had a blast!
  5. Rich

    !

12lbs before or after he shoved the downrigger balls down it's throat?
  6. That's Sleded working on his girth. Hehe.. thanks Fishmaster! I dont even remember the girth.. it was big tho!
  7. Well dad and I dropped the bass boat in locally today in hopes at some largemouth. We were not disappointed.. though no big ones our total in about 2 hrs fishing was 8 bass. 6 for me, 2 for dad. Almost all on spinnerbaits, a couple on chatterbaits. Was a good way to spend the afternoon after a long work week!
  8. Extreme Angler TV is my favourite by far.
  9. Don't be afraid to toss a 2 inch grub around for the 'eyes and crappies. You'd be surprised at how big some of the fish will be that will smack a little grub in Rice.
  10. Glad I was out of town for this one. I'm in Simcoe and I was sick of the noise by 4pm.
  11. Justin you never fail to put up an excellent report. This time is no exception!
  12. Hello all. Almost 2 years ago now I bought some giant Slug-Go baits for musky. After a trip to the kawarthas where every pink Slug-go I threw for bass got bit off by a musky, I figured it'd be a good choice. I soon realized that these baits work like crap with a leader. It completely changes/ruins the action, and makes them sink too fast. Is there any way to get around that problem?
  13. Spinnerbaits, topwater, jerkbaits.. in that order
  14. Nice fish! Your dad kind of looks like me in that picture!
  15. I dunno the kawartha weed was always good to me! Nice 'skies Lew!! God I wish I lived up there again..
  16. I dunno, I kind of enjoy being comfortable while I fish. If my shirt isn't sticking to me and the fish are biting, well thats even better.
  17. Looks like the rare atlantic salmon to me. But I dont know much about those species.. Great report. Nice mixed bag!
  18. Thanks for the comments guys!

  20. Great report and a nice lookin' new rig there Steve. Maybe we can get out for an Action Angling walleye episode sometime!
  21. Sorry no tips or reports from me, but I can offer you a "good luck!"
  22. Now that's a muskie! Nice!
  23. She would not let me cancel my fishing trip I had been planning for so long, gotta love 'er! Her only complaint was that she couldn't be up there with me. haha Thanks for all the comments guys.
  24. Sleded and I headed up early Friday morning to one of our favourite areas of the kawarthas for some multi-species action. We were not let down. A look at the drive up. I've been dying for musky since last September, so thats how we started. Within 6 casts, I had my first. For some reason we never got a still picture of it, just video. It was not a legal fish and I barely took it out of the water. About 10 more casts and I was into a nicer one, probably legal, but he shook the hook. We were simply casting spinnerbaits along a distinct weedline, about 8-10ft of water. After that, the muskies apparently shut down. We tossed grubs looking for walleye, and as expected, got into a bunch of panfish (which were released). We spent the rest of the day just relaxing, tossing grubs and casting spinnerbaits for bass. Nothing major that day but still lots of fun on the water. Day 2 started with a bang. My BBR sense was tingling at the thought of trolling for musky. We've never really done it before, but I gotta tell ya, I think I'm hooked. After not even an hour I hooked into the big fish of the trip. No, not that big, but a long, skinny kawartha musky. We didn't even take the time to measure it. Not long after the catch she swam off, full of life. Soon after, I was into another one. A little smaller but I'm pretty sure it was a legal fish. After that it was Sleded's turn to land a little snot rocket. Not exactly that trophy he was after but hey, he was spunky and full of life. After that we chased the walleye. Once again, no big trophies, but jigging the weedlines with the trusty orange grub did pick up a few good eaters. And of course, some panfish. Who can forget the perch who annihilated my 5 inch senko, lol A fine Kawartha sunset ended the day. We didn't get much time to fish on day 3. Long story short, a couple decent bass, one tiny musky (for me), and a bunch o' panfish. Oh yeah, one little walleye too. Sleded scored with the big bass of the trip. It was a great trip, full of lots of fun times and great laughs. Sure the fish weren't massive, or necessarily co-operative at times, but it happens. Looking forward to the next trip up!
  25. Literally! Quote of the night was when She was on the phone with her mom... Mom: "If you're having contractions, maybe you should be heading home from fishing?" Sugarpacket: "Gimme a break mom, my contractions are a half hour apart. I have plenty of time, plus every time I get a contraction a fish hits!" True story!! Thank you everyone for your well wishes and advice!
