  1. maybe a enforced speed limit like 70 KPH would make sense on public waterways ? boater's card level of training is obviously deficient with the speeds a lot of craft run today.
  2. Denis from Fish'n Niagara with a real nice unicorn
  3. underwater video , upper Niagara 2019, lots of fishes ? looks like a sturgeon around 1:45
  4. There was this one in Port Colborne too. https://www.stcatharinesstandard.ca/news-story/9565750-boaters-abandon-burning-vessel-in-port-colborne-marina/ edit : looking at it again the hull design and paint looks like an old Wilker
  5. As I understand it, you can still use them but they must be from the same body of water that you are using them in.
  6. Fishing smallmouth with dad back in the 60's out of Port Colborne, we would always go to one of the local clay bottomed ponds with a triangular framed , fine meshed net and pick up several dozen crawfish apiece. Don't think we ever fished them any other way, number 4 or 6 baitholder beak hook and a few splitshot ?. Now you can't do that, illegal to transport crawfish due an invasive species.
  7. Man am I ever out of the loop, just looked at the Angling Specialties facebook page, $1450 for one of there reels, new ?. I've bought new vehicles for less than a Clough
  8. What are they fishing for, looking at the graph in the lower left, there are fish stacked from top to bottom..... Silver Bass ????????????????
  9. Rivers this side also get a good run in early spring but the bulk of the fish return to the lake, the spot mentioned is the only spot I've encountered that would consistently produced big cats all summer long in the open water of Lake Erie.
  10. Back in the seventies I often fished channels at Long Point, shore casting in the evening, on the lake side down off Hasting's Ave. There was 4 or 5 of us fishing most evenings and a few fish in the high teens would be caught along with the more usual 8- 10 pounders. We would get them all summer there right up to the opening of duck season.
  11. Pushing 60 here and still incredible vocals, Glen Hughes , the voice of rock, soul , jazz or whatever he is singing at the time
  12. 50 plus years of listening to rock and this Woodstock performance to still the best single performance in history,
  13. Any of the inlaws and outlaws places I recall in Port Charlotte had those crank open jalousie windows. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jalousie_window
  14. Got to see Hendrix once at a hockey rink on Carlton in TO, it was the tour promoting the Axis Bold as Love album, so this was still a year or so away, but this cover is absolutely spot on. Gary was /is on my top ten favourite guitarists of all time till I die.
  15. The three S's method of pest control.
  16. Yes , you can see all the past flights on the link in my second post, looks like they started at the Niagara River and headed west , doing like sized segments probably because of fuel supply or run out of baits.
  17. The deeper water adjacent to the actually reef
  18. It's Sept. deeper would be better so I would lean Tecumseh if it is doable.
  19. Wait and see how the wind is, often the deciding factor on Erie, Turkey Pt. and the Inner Bay at Long Pt. being more sheltered on a SW wind. It's Sept. deeper would be better so I would lean Tecumseh if it is doable.
  20. I had a green 4 and a beige 3, think the beige one was an Abu not an original Zebco, lost both in a break in to my van at Queenston, Had to replace them with the same Abu black ones you got with the skirted spools and that infernal line clip that quickly got removed.
  21. Before the dinosaur age , steelheaders used Zebco Cardinal 3's and 4's.
  22. Moved to Grimsby in '84 and a couple of guys here got me into centre pins. It was probably that first autumn that I got a Grice and Young , Avon Royal Supreme ( supreme POS ?) , next fall I had a non anodized clickerless Stanton which I loved and still use and the following year I got a Smith and Smith 2nd generation Stream Master. I still kick myself for not putting out the 4 bills or so for a Clough in the late 80's, those thing go for over 2 grand today to collectors. We had good Canadian made reels by '91, the Stream Master is mine.
  23. Is it an air cooled engine ?, hope the heater works better than my old '68 bug ?
  24. Got step daughters, grand kids , inlaws and outlaws all in the Port Charlotte/ Punta Gorda area, they took a direct hit from Charlie about 15 years ago, seeing this one is making land on the other side they should be OK. No citizenship but I let my wife know I'm pro Trump every chance I get ?.
