Seems to me Cabelas and Bass Pro's house brand looks to be rebranded chinese crap. I shouldn't say that all Chinese stuff is crap. But 99-109$ USD for an IM9 graphite rod isn't a bad deal at all. Personally I'd save up for a Loomis GL2 rod or a Croix Avid.

When me and my dad were hardcore into Salmon fishing (minimum 4 days a week for around 7 years straight) we trolled Michigan Stingers (http://www.mistinger.com/spoons1.htm) on downriggers in 30ish feet of water (St. Marys River). We caught ALOT of Atlantics back then in the 10+ pound range. Not sure of it helps dude...

people will sell as is for 2 reasons 1) There is major problems and they don't want people to know about them or 2) The guy just doesn't want the hassle of taking it in and dealing with it. They just want the right buyer to come along that knows what to look for and either say "no thanks" or "yes please". When I was selling my truck I used reason number 2 ...I HATE people...and I HATE having to jump through hoops to sell something...come see it, if you like what you see take it...if not move along.

Agreed...while a car would be cool, it would still make me feel much better to get to fellow anglers "Yah I won this boat in the Salmon Derby." while you are at the docks, or on the water with it. Not in a bragging way or anything, but it would just make me feel alot more proud. Plus, in 5 years that Toyota's gonna be a rusted piece of crap, where as your boat will still be just fine...
