  1. You are talking baitcaster avid... Right?
  2. My brother was towing a boat that had a 2" tongue on the trailer with a hitch that was 7/8"... The trailer jumped off the ball and the tongue picked threw the back of my dads bronco.... Not a fun day...
  3. I think your andwers she be based on home waters or mist frequently fished waters... For me that's 98% st.lawrence river
  4. I'm not secluded... St Lawrence river... But I get loads of walleye and I don't get pike... But I can sub in musky instead... And I'm only an hour away
  5. I own a 7 foot heavy avid.... It's a 10 I troll big walleye cranks with it and have accidentally caught musky and landed em pretty safely... As long as your running heavy braid... The 7 foot avid should do all heavy bass applications as well as pike walleye and small musky fishing...
  6. Keep in mind I'm third generation fisherman on the greatest river in north America... The "Larry" My dad and grandfather were both guides and me and my brother get to fish 3-4 times a week... Each... And share all info... That's like being on the water every day... So we know what's going on with the fish...
  7. Serious... Last night I got 11 walleye in 2.5 hours... Ok... Maybe saying 8 would be a better average... But I did boat 17-13-16 walleye this year in a day... One of my best days this year was 10 carp- 16 pike- 6 oos smallmouth- 5 walleye... And altho it's been a slow start to musky this year... Iv got a fish everyday but one... 40-41-43 inches
  8. 10 walleye in 2-10 hours between 2-5lbs 1-3 musky in 3-10 hours 35-42 inch average 50-60 perch per person... 20-30 are 8-12 inches in about three hours 1 carp every 30-45 min averaging 20lbs
  9. When your line is tightening up... That means they are swimming away with it... So when you set ...the frog should be pulled Into the corner of its mouth... Try waiting for the pull... Or give it a 1-2 mississippis
  10. Just throwing this out there... If you have an iPhone... There is a navionics app that is like $15 that works pretty good
  11. There just seems to be no etiquette these days... It's a very very rare situation when I fish a run that somebody else is fishing... And if they were there first... I bend over backwards to stay out if their way... Im lucky cause I'm third generation on my mom and dads side on the river... So I've had information passed down to me... And knowing how to treat boaters and fisherman is common sense... But I guess that's why I get so mad when people act stupid... I feel like if I don't let em know they are being a jackass... They might never figure it out
  12. if its a little aluminium boat or some thing small with no id # on it... just say its been in your fathers/ grandfather garage for the last 10 years and your putting a motor on it and need to register it... thats what i did with my first boat... 14 foot aluminium... i said it was the cottage row boat... worked fine... then youll get legit paperwork for the boat...
  13. glad to hear your in a better mood... it could have been worse... coulda cost big $$$ or somebody could have been hurt... go fill you livewell and make that smile bigger
  14. Good job... A 50 incher is a trophy anywhere in the world... Nice fish
  15. I think I know the rocks you hit Paul... Big flat in front of some campsites east of macs marina... There are 2 stone piles side by side... We call em "the 2 teats" Next time gimme a pm if you wanna go for perch... My boathouse is a quarter mile from the perch flats... I'd be glad to take out a fellow OFC member for some jumbos...
  16. Finally got the misses out in the boat for the first time this year... It took so long cause of the addition to our family... 7 week old Connor... So grandma and grandpa helped us out so we could spend the day in the boat... So anyways... I decided to take her for walleye so she would be able to get a decent fish... And was I right... We managed 8 walleye between 2 and 5 pounds... She boated 2 and lost one and I managed 6 and a couple misses... Then we had a nice lunch at a riverside restaurant and a beer or two... And when we got back on the water the weekend boat traffic on the Larry was brutal so we opted to pack it in early and pick up our son a bit early and BBQ some steaks... All and all everybody had a great day and then our 7 week old gave us the gift of an 8 hour sleep... All and all... Best day of the year in my opinion...
  17. One BBQ favorite is Guinness flavored bullseye BBQ sauce... For a store bought sauce it's first class
  18. Nice ski... It's been a slow start here on the st. Lawrence for me... No weeds yet... I've boated 7 musky so far this year but the biggest was only 43" Can't wait for a biggun like yours there...
  19. That's when I do a doughnut around him a couple times then drop my line 10 feet from his boat... Or troll past him and pull out a nice fish to piss him off.... Lol
  20. Canadian tire... You can just get a push button instead of a key
  21. I think it's strategy... So you end up spending the little extra cash instead of replacing parts...
