well i got to meet mercman and his wife... these are two very very nice people.. we started off going for perch in the morning....but with the strong winds it was difficult to fish these finicky little buggers... we got a couple but not what we were looking for... so we decided to go for lunch... we had a nice walleye lunch back at the boathouse... then we decided to take out the big ranger to see if i couldnt get merman his first musky... success :thumbsup_anim: he was so pumped to get his first musky... it was like a little kid at christmas... our day was made... all and all it wasnt a great day of fishing but we had a pretty good time...

well tomorrow is the day... im going perch fishing with Mr. and Mrs mercman... i have some nice walleye fillets ready to cook for us for lunch... and hopefully the weather cooperates for a nice day... but im wondering what kinda advice the OFC members have for me so i can deal with this kooky fella... any tips or tricks so i can put a pattern together faster on his personality... ide like to have a good day on the water and any help you guys could give me about dealing with "mercmans" would be appreciated... ive never dealt with this species before... thnx in advance

that was a great tournament... im disapointed there are none this year... its been a really slow year for perch... but im sure we'll get into some...

i think it only 50-75 bucks to get em fixed... thats what id do...

well ill be perching tomorrow morning with one of the other guys from the site... "mercman" so ill probably be in front of creg quay... dont know if youve seen my boat yet... green and brown lund with a honda tiller... anyways... ill probably see you out there...

hey andre... glad to see you found this site... not many guys from our area but there are a couple... most of the people on this site are very eager to learn as well as teach others about our great sport of fishing... and life... sometimes the most interesting threads have nothing to do with fishing... anyways fellow OFNCers this newb is a good guy and a good angler he should fit right in... especially with all the videos he makes...lol

you guys are crazy... i hate winter... there isnt enough safe ice in my area and where there is is overrun with other anglers... im in my boat from late march to mid deceber most years and love every day of it...

better on you deck than in your boat... i hear its bad luck for fishing if its in your boat...

cool video... thats how a lot of people on the st.lawrance troll... with a weight in front of a crank.... and i do well in the spring fishing shallow for post spawn walleye with original floaters

what area are you from...? that would help

HAAAAA.....

Well... I had the afternoon free... So I decided not to lay on the couch and beat the heat... But go out on the river and join it... And was I glad... In three hours I boated 12 walleye with the biggest being 8lbs... 2 smallmouth bass... And a bonus little 32 inch musky Yes it was incredibly hot and the 30mph winds were a headach as well as a blessing creating huge waves but also giving me the odd cold shower wich was refreshing... And I couldn't find anybody willing to fish with me... But I had fun and drank about 3-4 liters of ice water in those 3 hours... Now time for some beers...

I have a cheap old transom mount that can do it without a bracket... You just put a towel over the side of the canoe to prevent scratches from the clamps... Tilt the motor till vertical Set your height...

Do you actualy need a bracket??? Why not clamp it on the side of the canoe near the rear??? They swivel 360

i emailed mnr geraneral email... they dont have a tips email... and i asked them either way to let me know if they have the resources to enforce violaters threw the internet... hopefully they get back to me about it and if they do... ill let everyone know

I've also had bole and h2optix... The h2optix were the best I've owned...$200 and there at the bottom of tge river now

I stick to the cheap ones... Hooks scratch em... They blow out if the boat... And u just plain lose em... So I usually have 2 or 3 pairs on the go... If you wanna go the other way... My buddy has "solor bat" polarized glasses and they are nice...
