  1. Ive seen reef runners for $2 in bargain bins over there... $2!!!!!! I was told by a tackle shop owner that there is an instant mark up if your store is in Canada and your wholesaler is in the USA... Like 20-40% or something like that
  2. Well... Here is a story... I bought a flasher at gander mnt in the USA... I got it retail for what my friend ( a store owner) would have paid wholesale... So after his mark up... He would have profited let's say 100 bucks... Or I buy in the USA and I save 100 bucks... Either way a Canadian has an extra 100 bucks... And I pay both governments their taxes... So stop me if im incorrect... But what's wrong with that????
  3. My lowrance pulled that on me on a trip to bay of quinte... I figure the transducer needs to be replaced or the fish finder isn't powerful enough
  4. Where did you find a life vest for a 6 month old? Smallest I found was a 20lb-30lb vest
  5. Congrats on the good fishing... The walleye bite west of you guys has been unbelievable on the Larry this year... Give em a try
  6. But the balsa rapalas don't do this... It's only pkastic ones... Husky jerk- plastic "deep" taildancer "Crome"- plastic X rap - plastic Original floater- wood Tail dancer ( not crome)- wood Any wood rapalas keep their paint... Even after a battle with a musky... Plastic ... I've killed in one day use
  7. I find most rapalas have this issue... I go threw 10 taildancers a year cause of paint alone... Not to mention cut offs... Break offs... And straightened hooks and split rings... But they do catch fish... Lol
  8. The black and yellow worms are not tape worms... These were 5 inches long... And read the eggs are in the meat
  9. In NY state I believe you have to keep your receipt for purchased minnows... Good set - up And $7 for 48 minnows ain't bad Cheapest around here is $10 for 36 perch bait... Musky bait is $2-3 bucks a peice
  10. They adore crayfish! I know some guys that target them with a simple hook and split shot set up with a lively crayfish hooked in the tail... They sometimes get 10-15 of these a day
  11. That's me! My little boy is only 5 weeks old and it feels pretty cool to be a father on fathers day... And he (the wife) even got me a nice card... Can't wait for annual fathers day fishing trips with the little bugger...
  12. Two thumbs way up on that ski... I wasn't able to fish the Ottawa opener this year... Im hoping to get out during the week this week to see if I can get me a biggun like that... I've got 4 in my boat so far this year but nothing over 40" yet... It will happen soon tho... The st.lawrence bite should be on soon too
  13. I'm also on the st.Lawrence river wich is highly populated and some would say polluted... Up north you wouldn't have the human population contaminating your water
  14. Dont worry... Opener is over rated...
  15. Heat shrink the wire end of the connector... Were the wire enters the connector... Should help keep water out... And I think I'm gunna have the connection take place inside a compartment
  16. Ok... So "the source" would probably have these type of connectors then?
  17. ok... so im planning on cutting the wire... crimping on male and female connectors... shrink tubing the connectors... so i guess the most important thing is finding good connectors that are water proof/resistant... thnx guys
  18. i was wondering if you can cut a transducer wire and put a connector on the wire im wondering this becaus i need to remove my bow mount trolling motor every night and there is a transducer on it... and the mount for my humminbird doesnt really allow you to disconnect the wire like a lowrance... so im interested in knowing if i add a connection in the transducer wire will the transducer will still work? and will it be just as sensitive?
  19. I believe your correct... My buddy was just saying he had to oat $500 in taxes before he could put his car on tge road
  20. the other evening i was trolling for some walleye and doing well we ended up getting 17 walleye, a smallmouth bass, a small musky and a fat carp... ive had some accidental carp catches before... but not surprising ones... you know... hook and worm fishing or jig and a worm... etc... this is twice ive had one of these beasts strike a moving bait the first time i was bottom bouncing a spinner in 60 feet of water and i thought i had a record walleye on cause i saw the GOLDEN beast about 30-40 feet away... boy was i disapointed to see those big rubber lips emerge from under the boat... the second time was last week... trolling cranks for walleye and when i felt the weight i though i had a famouse st.lawrence musky... but as the figh went on... it wasnt fighting like a ski... so again i start thinkin giant walleye... then we see her... a 22 lb carp with my taildancer hanging out of its mouth, not a snagged fish, he hit a crank moving 2mph against 3mph current... i was again blown away anybody else have this happen... not the hook and worm type scenerio... moving baits?
