  1. I wouldn't pay guide fees to shiner fish.
  2. I check/tighten my bolt every night when I fish Simcoe, Erie, Ont. and occasionally if I'm not on these waters. I no of 6-10 motors that have fallen off from guys not checking. Even Bob had 1 come off on Simcoe. You can buy spacer to go on your steering racket to stop motor from leaning to the side. The smaller motors have a screw that you can tighten to reduce this problem.
  3. I weight a max length walleye in a tournament on Rice at 2.65 and max length walleye on Sturgeon are 3-3.10 so yes walleye are still good at the Stony Combo.
  4. 70 mph bass boats are fun and comfortable. All that goes away when you get in the big stuff. Then it's just survival. Was out surfing big rollers on Georgian Bay. My tournament partner at 6-4 yells stop stop. Jumps up gets his life jacket on lights a dart and off we go. He is a big time TV fishing host now. That day just happy to get back so we could dry out the life jackets.
  5. I wear my auto inflate 100 % if I'm fishing alone and about 50/50 with other people. My balance is not great anymore. In my tournament days I've had some hair raising boat rides. Did a 180 off a wave in big bay one time my tournament partner was on the floor. Happy tournament rules make you wear lifejackets.
  6. Mustang Auto inflate fish all day get in the truck drive home and have even walked in the house with it still on.
  7. Heading to Cape Cod shortly. Stripers love hitting top water wooden plugs.
  8. I would go in and see Justice of Peace. Explain the situation and maybe the ticket would get thrown out.
  9. I was working on a charter boat 20 years ago when a new boater with new boat launched in Port Credit and went east at 30 miles/hr until he hit the Bonnie Bra shoal in Oshawa. Basically beached the boat, which was very lucky. Another mile and he would have hit Oshawa pier dead on. In heavy fog.
  10. fished 6 tournaments won 3 cashed 2 more checks things look normal for cooler year to me.
  11. I also have a fish line that goes to the back of boat tied to my boat key and tied to a hose in the battery compartment. Not much security but some..
  12. I have a set (rod locker and ignition) under dash and another on my truck keys. Never used them but they are there.
  13. I use co polymer P Line. Mono starts the day floating then absorbs water and sinks. Co polymer line is in between mono and flouro so doesn't sink and doesn't float. Then I treat my line with Blackmore Reel Magic that makes it float and also slows down icing. Co polymer line has way less stretch than mono. Just to say something nice about Cabelas only place I've seen P Line resently. I use P Line CXX mose green so I can see the line a little.
  14. For Merc you will see 1f, 2f and as state only few different keys. Yes all 1F keys fit.
  15. I salvage them out of old landing nets.
  16. My buddy's dad had one. Cool looking contraption .
  17. Think I would get a real good handle on what you eat before starting this trial and stick to that. Any weight gain should be temporary. I had to cut out coffee when I quit smoking. 1 a day instead of 10-12. Food tasted so good and the weight stayed.
  18. I wouldn't spend the money on 1 ft contours. Especially for Rice Lake. It's just garbage tons of stuff that's just not there.
  19. Was in a boat with the Onyx. My buddy is tech nerd. He nearly gave up on it 2 weeks in. Now likes it. He also has that 360 on trolling motor, Lots of value there.
  20. I'm the same I never un plug my 36 volt trolling. It's likely a good idea. Put I don't.
  21. I have a 2 bank 10 amp charger that I use for my starting battery. I use all 4 leads on 1 battery that gives me 10 amp charge. My 3 bank that I bought before the 4 bank came out is a 30 amp that's 10 amp per battery. If you every get into a boosting situation then you need to un hook the jumper between battery's.
  22. Each lead is 12 volt that's 12 to the first battery and 12 to the second battery. It also says 12 amp your first set of leads is 6amp and the second is 6amp the only way to get 12 amp is both sets of leads to 1 battery.
  23. You got it wrong Bill. A 2 bank charger is 2-12 volt chargers in 1 box. A 24 volt charge whole different animal.
  24. Even when you get a 2 bank charger (which is 2 chargers in 1 box) 1 set of leads to 1 battery the other set to other battery. No need to separate battery's. I never unplugged my trolling motor and I never operated the trolling motor when charging. That might be issue.
  25. From Barrie t5hat's quite a trip you are proposing. Don't bother bringing fishing rods. Your round trip will be about 70 miles.
