  1. Thanks for the link. I signed up and got my NY licence. Works for first time buyers
  2. Hi Guys, my buddy sent me a link to buy a licence on line. But I can't get it to work. Anyone have a link for a first time buyer. Thanks
  3. I would also change the plugs at the start of next year after your first outing. Everything else you doing sounds good. What I do to clean my boat is wash it real good maybe get the pressure washer on it and get what you can off. Then I will put a compound and use a buffer to take all the dirt off. Then I will put a coat of wax on it's new again.
  4. I recommend getting the dvd called BIGMOUTH. You will learn about bass with amazing underwater footage.
  5. Thanks guys kinda getting hooked on them now.
  6. Just recently watched a few westerns. True grit and 3:10 to yuma. Any other recommendations.
  7. What I would do if your storing it outside is cover the motor from the elements. Make sure you keep the motor in the down position so all water drains out of it. You have to be careful of using it late in the fall. What might happen is you just went fishing on the weekend and park it. The temp. drops below freezing and any water left in the motor will probably freeze. That could cause you problems. Without being able to keep it in a garage with the cold temps. before you store it will be a concern. My garage always seems to stay above freezing late Nov. early Dec. so if I'm going to use it I won't have that issue. By then I will have winterized it and forget about it till next spring. One last thing is if possible to flush it with antifreeze after you use it. Don't know if that's possible. Maybe the tech guys on here can help out with that.
  8. no motors allowed. no boat launch. you can hand bomb it from the park and work a trolling motor. your better off fishing the harbour with a good launch out of bay front.
  9. when I say reef I mean off shore sturcture. There are lots of reefs in lake erie. I said target 20' of water so in that area for example you may come upon an area that goes from 20 to say 15' then drops back off. That would be the reef in that area.
  10. tubes for sure. Goby imitation baits on a dropshot works good. I would target deeper water say 20' with reefs around. I was just out and the water temp. was 65 deg. So don't over look shallow water. I was still catching them shallow also. If you hook up just look for areas that are the same and you should be able to catch more fish. Good luck.
  11. Don't give away your fishing spots in an open forum. If someone wants to know where you are fishing and you want to tell them send them a private message. Just don't do it so every soul can read it. In the end it's your spot that's going to get invaded.
  12. Here is a video on the B1 from last year. It's in french
  13. I just highlight the waypoint you want to copy and then go to file and save as and save it to where you want. I hope this is what you were after.
  14. Get the dual beam if you fish shallow to deep applications. The tri beam would be gravy on top. If the cost is negligible then get the tri if not get the dual. I've been using the dual for years and would not got with anything but dual.
  15. find some weedbeds and crank a taildancer on the edge of the weeds and you will hook up with walleye.
  16. We were just out there the other day. We lost a few hogs. Good going.
  17. It was a fun night of fishing for sure! We dropped a few big fish and one was a hardware issue. That sucks. Eagle claw hooks vs Trokar....eagle all the way baby.....lol
  18. If your fishing from shore Valens has a nice bridge to fish off of. Lots of panfish there. It's the better place to catch nice sized panfish and possible big pike and bass.
  19. I just did what driffter said last week with my plug and everything works like it should.
  20. I wired the new plug today. I combined the 2 browns and everything is working fine. Thanks for the help guys.
  21. ok I'll hook up the two brown to brown on the new plug and hope it works. It's a 4 pin connector. Thanks for your help guys.
  22. Hi guys my male plug on the trailer is damaged. I need to replace it. I went to canadian tire to buy a new plug. Got home and I was going to cut the old plug off and solder the new one on. Only thing is the new plug has 4 wires and the old has 5. Is there a way to wire this or should I go back to the store and see if they have a 5 wire plug? Thanks and any help.
  23. definitely go with heavier weights. 3/4 oz up to 1 oz. One key thing that is working for me is to have the proper length of line out. I usually have my bait hang down to about my reel. This give me just the right length. Next with the bail open I keep my rod say about 11 O'Clock and this is the key let bait fall away from the rod in a pendulum motion first before you flick your wrist to give the added distance. When you time this right you will get a nice taught line as your bait falls away. It also keeps the bait low to the water for a silent entry. With work and practice you will get better. But you have to practice. Also after a dozen flips or pitches I usually fire a long cast off the deep side of the boat to get all the slack out and reel back in tight so I'm ready again for a series of pitches. Good luck.

    Flipping

You said you tried fluoro a few years ago and then again this year. What did you find and why did you try again?
  25. I had the same issue with a taildancer but mine was on the back end off the bait. The wire loop that holds the hook broke the body and twisted the hook sideways. Not very impressed for the money you have to pay for the lure. My buddy had issues with the DT series with the lip coming out just like you've described. Happened to him on a few different lures. Is there a warranty issue or a way of getting a new lure from rapala if we complain? Shot in the dark I guess. I just used some epoxy to glue the hook back. I'll see if it holds the next time I get a fish on. Would be a shame to lose a nice fish or any fish because the lure broke.
