Thant's inteesting cause I've read otherwise... contaminent levels have dropped overall since the 70's

you really should do you research... lake o lakers fishery is a put-n-take... but some natural reproduction is occuring..
-
I suppose you're not familiar with Lake O!! Yes, the fish down here are fat! They grow big ad fast and fat from all the baitfish in the lake... keep in mind that your sonar can go black from clouds of bait that are 80-100' in size from top to bottom! My rigger cables would vibrate as these clouds appeared as the alwives would bounce off the cable! The lake is so rich with fish - I'll bet that laker is 1/3 maybe 1/4 the age of a similar sized laker from up north BTW, apparently a 32lb+ fish was caught the week before!

Just called U-Haul in Weston... can't do it...they said I will need to call a Nissan dealer... that'll be expensive! Will try other places tomorrow...
-
Deal isn't finalized yet... But yes, the boat is very fast apparently... Class III?
-
Thanks guys... will give U-Haul a shot... seems to be the concensus here.. By the way, the boat is a 16' aluminum with a 120HP outboard.. do I need a class II hitch? I figure the package is about 1200-1400lb in total.. What should I install? Do I need trailer brakes? thanks!!

Well, if you're a fan of socialism, he was right... if this proves anything it shows that government is actually controlled by greater forces... unions and welfare capitalist conspired to see that their interests were served... How can you bail out a floundering company that has been spinning its wheel since the 1990's be justified? It would have made more senses to let it sink and pay out EI for an extended period... -
no way, i'm useless when tryin to install anything! last thing i'd do is a towing package! U-Haul, eh?
-
Hey folks, I might be picking up a boat by the weekend. I've had hitches installed before on other vehicles but I don't have one on my current car.. I forget where I went to get the work done in the past. Can anyone recommend a good quality and reliable place that installs hitches - and reasonably priced of course! I am in Vaughan, around the 400 & 7 area (close to BPS) Much appreciated in advance...

My Lord! May I ask where Allen Lake is? Are you in B.C.?

Does anyone tie their PP directly onto jig heads? I use light for bass/walleye action (20lb PP = 6lb test) - heavier for the pike action (40lb)

I hear the French River Delta is great... never been there myself... maybe others can enlighten us? Sauble Falls isn't a great choice imo... i don't even like the campground... an he did request a "remote back-country" setting... Sauble is FAR from this!!

Time to start eating more bass and less pickerel?

Can someone explain to me why the MNR doesn't stock walleye on a widespread basis? We stock a lot of other fish...why not walleye? It can't be for genetic reasons b/c they could use the brood stocks of the native waterways where they come from.. i.e. Rice Lake gets stocked with Rice Lake walleye... that would help boost stocks and they could also improve spawning habitat (like the did in the Moon River Basin)... in 7-10 years things would much better... plus, cut back on the possession limits on pressured lakes.. my 2 cents -
there can't be many rainbows left in any trib... maybe i'm wrong... i've found that my late may it's pretty much over..

that is a travesty that they would charge $18 let alone $50. Most people using those launches are coming up from the GTA and other cities... w/o this business these places would struggle to survive... with the price of gas and the economy the wy it is, they'll loose lot of money this summer.. thye need to get real and adjust their pricing structure just like most businesses have.. i don't mean to offend anyone here who might be involved in this business, but I've had some bad experiences with marina operators. I'm always polite to people but many of them don't have a clue of how to treat customers... i realize they aren't fond of "toronto people" but who's keeping their businesses afloat? locals? don't think so...

bass is good eating... i never understood why people 'C & R' bass, but keep walleye w/o hesitation. bass also decimated the brooke trout fisheries of central Ontario throughout the 20th century when they were intentionally released in brooke trout lakes... they're like gobies! -
maybe it mated with a leopard

First time posting a pic here so here goes.. Didn't make it to the Musquash as I planned so choose the Moon River basin instead... I couldn't find an exit area and parking spot for the Musquash... Anyhow launch at Arnolds Bay... really nice area... but fish weren't cooperating... lots of sun and wind so it made my canoe ride somewhat uncomfortable and labour-intensive.. took a pic or two of some wildlife.. the pic I'm attempting to post is a fox.. but saw a ruffed grouse and some beautiful waterfowl as well... thanks to the folks who helped me with my previous post...

there's been quite a few caught this year... looks like all the negativity around the program might have been pre-mature...

Hey folks, When using Power Pro and metal leaders (pike), should you still tie on a piece of florocarbon or can you just tie on the leader directly? It seems pointless to me to tie on floro leader when tying on a highly visible metal leader. Does anyone simply tie on their crankbaits directly to Power Pro (without metal leader), or is a floro leader a must? Any thoughts? Thanks!

Pike Fishin' Again @ My Favorite Marina! :D

Marinas don't usually allow you to fish em... against their rules and it's private property... u weren't harassed by them? -
Hey folks, Anyone here familiar with the Musquash River west of 69/400? I drive by it every so often and the area looks enticing... Was thinking of putting around in my canoe in that area... is it accessible from the highway? Can you park there w/o issue? Is the water flat and calm or should I expect strong currents or rapids? I was thinking of paddling up to or beyond Gray Lake. Any other alternative rivers/lakes in that area that might hold a walleye or 2 or some pike? Thanks much in advance!
