  1. How about an 8" switch blade?!
  2. I didn't wanna say anything... but ya, that was a weird response to my post!!! I should have added that I really do want as light a pair of boots as possible...
  3. That's a bit of a strange website!
  4. thanks i'll check that out...
  5. with due respect, are you really surprised? this is how the world works, and how it will always work
  6. excellent.. I am considering both I think I'm leaning toward gortex
  7. Hey gang, I am just getting into hunting. I want to purchase a good quality boot and I need comfy shoes since I tend to have some issue with my feet. I have a high arch/instep. I don't mind spending a bit more if I have to to get comfortable boots. I plan on hunting a variety of game so I could be standing in a deer stand, turkey hunting or moving around for rabbit, grouse,etc... I will probably hunt waterfowl too. I know there's no perfect one -boot-for-all-applications, but would might come close? I hear Danner amd Irish Setter are good boots. I've also been told to stick to 800 thinsulate min. Any thoughts? Thanks
  8. Sounds good to me! I will be mainly after a pair of good hunting boots but other items might be on that list!
  9. This is PERFECT cause I am going to the Buffalo airport... i know exactly where that is... just before the airport exit Dicks is alright.. I want to buy some good hunting boots...
  10. So is this Buffalo? Colvin Blvd? Are you referring to the Amherst locatiion?
  11. Does anyone know if the Buffalo area has either a Cabelas or BPS? I will be going to Buffalo on the weekend and wouldn't mind "popping in"! If not, is there a good quality retailer in Buffalo that sells hunting and fishing gear? Thanks folks!
  12. I'm too lazy to upload my pics in photobucket so just look at my avatar pics... the coyote turd was as big as a wolf. I live in Vaughan near Rutherford and Islington and hike through the Humber Valley frequently. I came across so much coyote turd, it's scary! Maybe 25 different stools. There's a lot of em in there. Since that incident last week, I've been carrying a 4" blade. You never know. I am usually by myself. Not worried about one but two or three is another story... and I'm 200lb and pretty built..
  13. I have a chance to buy a 301 (semi-auto). It's either that or the Benelli Nova Pump. I know the Benelli is a fine gun, and the one I am thinking of getting would be brand new. But an opportunity to purchase a Beretta has come along and I am thinking that a semi-auto would be a smart choice, even if it used. Plus, it's a Beretta. Can't go wrong. The other bonus is that it is cheaper since it's used - $700 (tax incl) vs $450 I tried doing a google search on the 301. I didn't find a lot of reviews, per say. Any thoughts/opinions? Thanks!
  14. ctually the cohos arent yet done and they are runs yet to come
  15. the Leafs have outplayed every team over the past 5 games. They have had few breaks and a bunch of really bad calls against them They are better than than their record indicates. Check back in April. I am certain things will turn around As for Mtl, they will NOT make the playoffs... they were thoroughly outplayed by the Leafs again (second time this seaon) They are small and basically a one line team (and a marginal line at best) The future is bright... good prospects and excellent yooung goalie and a very committed management team Cup contenders within 3 years
  16. Holy smokes, i thought those things were stealthful and skittish
  17. There are a lot.. and I'm ok with controlling pop. But I would say that without our control measures, they would cull themselves... by starving themselves one they eat all the prey... it does happen in remote areas where predator/prey relationships are dependent on one anther.. i suppose that we don[t have that much time... anyhow the posters are entitled to their opinions... I try to take a balanced approach recognizing that people in certain parts of the province, especially farming communities aren't fond of yotes...
  18. Bear in mind that the moose is in the foreground and the people are background so it looks a lot bigger...
  19. the first pic has been circulatiing on hunting sites... apparetly its a hoax
  20. A tour would be cool. How long do they last? Do you give a background on the salmonid stocing program in the Great Lakes? Thanks
  21. I got it! Thanks so much... I emailed your contact! regards
  22. Great idea! I didn't think of the Bruce...
  23. I just responded.. disregard my question. I now realize your contact is OMNR, which is great! thanks buddy!
  24. Hey folks, I have started an outdoor club at my high school where I teach. We're located near BPS. We're considering where to head for our first day hike...we're either going to staying local (Humber Valley/Kortright Centre) or go north.. MAybe even Algonquin for a day. Any suggestion for good, scenic full day hikes in south-central Ontario? I thinking something within 2.5 hour drive. Thanks! p.s. We also want to start a hatchery and help out with stream re-hab along the Humber... any input or perhaps association out there that would appreciate a group of enthusiastic teens? Does the equivalent to the CRAA exist for the Humber? Much appreciated...
