  2. You guys are making me hungry. Can't wait till jan 1 I need my twice weekly whitefish intake! I'm a baaaaaad man.
  3. Just tuned up the old sled last weekend, plugs, carbs, belt, new helix seccondary spring and a little more weight in the primarys( I'm pretty sure I have the fastest hut pulling sled on the lake ) any takers? I can't wait. Don't let the 600 on the hood fool ya I kinda like them there people are like what the hell after a long pull 113 mph on the gps. Edited for typos
  4. Ah man that stinks. Hope he is found quickly
  5. Just checked marine weather it's in feet. Still impressive
  6. At least all this rain will het some fish moving. Someone told me there expecting 20 meter swells on lake huron.
  7. Great write up thanks for the story. The. Swamp donkey comment made me laugh for ten min.
  8. That's why I liked the idea of tags. You can have a few good fish frys a year but you can't kill 150 fish 50 times a year.
  9. I like the tag idea. I dunno max 50 sport fish, 500 pan fish/perch . Most fisherman would not take their fifty a year. But it would cut down on the people who take 1000's a year.
  10. Nice fish. I'd take a picture you'd probably need to beach him anyways to get him to settle down to get the hook out. I saw a school swim by the park in oakvilllle when a was about six that's the closest I have bin to one.
  11. Just took the reel apart looks like I over oiled it yesterday. I cleaned it up and blew excess oil out of bearings with compressed air and it works fine now doh.
  12. Ahhhhh just walked inthe door. Well the bearings were trash in the reel I need to get that sorted this week and as for the fishing it was allot of fresh air and exercise today. Much of the same where we headed after we met you BillM whole lotta nothing fish must have been cruising today. I had my brother in law out I was hoping to get him hooked up he has only fished about ten times in his life and mostly caught sunfish ect off the dock. I'll be back on the river in about........6.5 hrs
  13. Sheepshead
  14. Well I went and picked it up tonight ... It's hand engraved on the inside. ". 2003 John Spahr #34 ". I'm excited to get out tomorrow even if it's blown and muddy. Any pointers for a rookie. My buddy gave me a few tips and I've been reading all week online and watching YouTube vids on how to cast ect. But any must know knowlage? "stand on the shoulders of giants" Any ways here she is.
  15. Sorry for your loss bud. I can't even imagine
  16. Sweet thanks for the info guys..I'm really excited my good friend is giving me a Jon spahr custom reel for 60 bucks. I'm not complaining. He got a few made for him back when he first started producing reels. He says it's been to hell and back and a little scratched up but works flawlessly. I will hopefully be learning how to use it this weekend should be entertaining.
  17. Lol, I don't see to many people where I go. I will walk for an hour to get away from them if I have to. Good to know another newbie question can you use it on a normal reel seat? Or does it have to have rings?
  18. Yea striped bass got landlocked when they built dams and now thrive. That was Jordan lake and tlillarynand has some too I think
  19. I have a fenwick hmxs that I use currently for fishing in the rivers. I love the rod could I pair it with a centerpin seems everyone uses a longer rod with their pin? On that note if you have a used pin for sale check the classifieds. I am on a budget no 300 dollar reels for me.
  20. Landlocked stripers in Nc.lake tlillaryn and Jordan. Hard to beat 4 rods firing at once and each has a 15 pound bass on the end of the line.
  21. Nice shooting.
  22. That's a pig. Nice fish.
  23. I grew up on island rd. No fish in the rouge
  24. My name is Andrew......and I have a problem......I'm becoming a river fisherman..... I have gone my whole life slamming lakers, pike, eyes, and Bass but with a move to kitchhener a year ago from Barrie this became allot more difficult . When I first started riverfishingni got skunked 10 times in a row. I finally got them dialed in last spring. anyways sorry for the kitchen sink pic. But I headed to river A last night and went 2/3 in the pitch black what a blast. Float fishing in the dark is exciting. I kept this one. I rarely do but my gf. Said if I'm going fishin I better bring home dinner. From what I understand it only gets better from here...bring on the cold
  25. Now if that happens at my house and I happened to let the dog out and he caught one would I be breaking laws?
